Ranch 99 is always a fun place to shop--there's a huge variety of unique snacks you don't usually find elsewhere, and the cooking ingredients are super fresh and well-stocked. It's perfect whether you're exploring new flavors or just grabbing your everyday essentials. I also love how convenient Ranch 99 is. You can find everything from ready-to-eat snacks to full meal ingredients in one trip, which makes cooking at home so much easier and more enjoyable.

The BBQ food quality was totally different than ever before. What has happening? To maintaining good quality products deli needs to keep good cook.

I love that this 99 Ranch Market offers many Seafood options!!!! There are definitely a wide range of selections of Asian Tropical Fruits, Fresh Produce, Meats, Spices, And Many Authentic Seasoning Sauces!! Nice Bakery section, Hot Food, Dumplings, Dim Sums, and plenty of delicious items ready to-go! Yum!!! Plenty of Everything, for all your International ingredients, and a very Authentic Asian Grocery store destination.

DIY Nasi Goreng shrimp tofu fried rice at home.
Mary L.

I was itching to make some fried rice, so I stopped by 99 Ranch grocery store on Hostetter Road in San Jose. No lines and no crowds during weekday morning 9:30am-10:30am hour. Nice. Cashiers were all ready to ring customers up, but there weren't too many people inside yet. Took my time to browse around for meats and sauces. Wow, $0.99 per pack Indonesian cooking sauces/food marinades. Deal! I picked up a bit of everything. I usually pay $1.50-$2.99 for a pack of good Asian cooking sauces. I ended up making Indonesian Nasi Goreng fried rice and the sauce did not disappoint. Strong in flavor and yummy. I will cook the Rendang Beef tomorrow. Good red meats at 99 Ranch are always highest in prices. Tofu section has wide selections. I usually go with 5-spices tofu or extra firm tofu which is highest in nutrients. Inexpensive. Chicken breast was affordable, but you will notice that all meat packages have smaller sizes & quantities in them. For Asian groceries and ingredients, this location is convenient for sure. You can run errands at USPS/post office, Costco, restaurants, and more. I used to visit more often when working in the area. Not much has changed. Busy streets and intersections. 99 Ranch is a must for most Asian grocery shoppers who cook at home. They have everything here. Downside? Yes, it's always busy and crowded during peak hours plus lunch & dinner hours. Parking spaces are not easy to find on most days and it's easy to run into people wandering around who aren't looking, so be careful. Highly congested area at times. Old building hasn't been renovated and it's dark most of the time. High prices all around. Interior is always freezing cold. Front entrance area is a bit tight in spaces and lots of customers are waiting for BBQ meats/boxed hot food items, etc. It's still great to have a 99 Ranch here though.

MOLDY bread =(

Just got home from getting some bread. Was excited to try the Mille layer toast but the moment I opened the packaging, first thing I noticed was the MOLD!! Date on the packaging says that it should be good for 5 more days. Ugh!! Annoying and disappointing!

Extremely busy grocery store and full parking lot, especially on the weekends. Your standard Asian supermarket much like Lion's and Marina, but a little cleaner and more organized. I do feel the prices are slightly higher than most Asian grocery stores. The bakery at this location is not aesthetically as pleasing as the other 99 Ranch locations. It's crowded and cluttered. With that said, I did try some of the cheesecake flavors behind the glass and they were all right. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. Standard prices for baked goods. Also picked up an egg tart and a taro pastry (芋頭酥). Both were standard in taste.

Date: Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 Time: around 6:45pm *Glico Pocky Chocolate ($4.29) *Samyang Cheese Buldak Cup Noodle ($2.99) *Meiji Yan Yan Strawberry ($0.99) *Meiji Yan Yan Chocolate ($1.99) *Yumei Fish Filet Spicy ($12.99) *Jane Jane Frozen Fish Ball with Roe ($3.69) x2 The hubby and I were in the area picking up dinner. Since I adore a good Asian market, we decided to stop by Ranch 99. Earlier in the day, we stopped by a Korean market and I wanted to grab some fish balls with roe. Since we were still hours away from home, I decided not to purchase them. Instead, I got them here. A little hard to find since they were covered up by other products, but I eventually found them with all the other frozen balls. The rest of the items we purchased were totally random. Decided to try a buldak cup noodle flavor I've never had before. And an instant fish hot pot thing. (Or at least that's what I think it is. Haven't tried it yet.) The hubs wanted sweets, so he grabbed the Pocky and Yan Yans. If I were closer to a Ranch 99, I'd probably frequent more often. They always give you coupons for your next purchase. (I have never used these.) Til next time! REVIEW #3578

This review is for cold deli section. I bought the spicy hot beef shank and tendon for $15. I brought it home and try it right away, it tasted foul and sour like it s been days while the label says sell by tomorrow. So confused so i called them but their number does not work !!! talking about customer service NONE! If you buy their food and get into trouble i guess noone will take responsibility:/ Never buy deli prep food again

Stopped by 99 Ranch Supermarket last night for an evening grocery run. The store has plenty of parking, and the shopping carts are newer, which was a nice touch. They had a good selection of fresh vegetables, sliced meats, fish balls, and some solid sale items like kimchi and Korean tofu. The store itself is cleaner than other Asian markets I've been to, which was appreciated. However, I ran into an issue at checkout--two of the sale items rang up at full price. I had to show the ad to get the correct pricing, which was a bit frustrating. It would be better if they were more consistent with their advertised deals. Overall, a decent shopping experience, but double-check your receipt if you're buying sale items.

Roasted Pig, close up
Lloyd C.

3.5 stars. Delicious roasted pig at a potluck party! Yum! Pre-order needed for whole pig. Most of the meat has been de-boned, but there are still a lot of bones or cartilage left. The skin is crunchy, crispy, and crackly. Different parts are leaner of fattier.

It's a typical Asian grocery store, they have everything that you'd need there. I grab a bun after my purchases afterwards

I told them I wanted 120 Pacific oysters and the worker brought it out right away. They were $120 but since I used my card to pay, they tacked on $5 to the price. I think you have to spend a certain amount to avoid the $5 credit card charge. They asked if I was ok with it and I told them it was fine and proceeded to pay. They have newspapers on the side that you can use to put in ur car so the water from the oysters doesn't get on the car carpet. The oysters were really good and tasted fresh. Mega is clearly far and away the best Asian market in the Bay area... having said that, I do have…read moresome complaints but will give it the 5 stars it deserves. Let's start with the good, or I should say best. The sashimi here is the best of any Asian market bar none. You could even say better than some Sushi restaurants (I won't name them). Even some of the newer Asian markets like T&T have disgusting sashimi... to the point you can taste the ice bc they hadn't fully defrosted it. The only nit I have is bruh... stop putting the frickin plastic sauce packets right on top of the fish. Why? Why would you do that? Stop it. Come on. Why in the actual F would you do that? Ok, I know this sounds more like complaints but I do really like Mega Mart to be clear. 2 other issues: #1. Dude... what're you guys doing with the panchan? When did you start adding so much sugar and sugaring the F out of the panchan. This is not how it should be. Old Korean grandmas are literally turning in their graves with this sacrilege. Maybe panchan sales are falling, but you can be damn sure I will never buy this again with the amount of sugar you guys add. Like why? Why 50% sugar... seriously, this panchan candy bar nonsense makes no sense! #2. What happened to organic natto? Like bruh. You only had 1 brand left that was organic. Sure I could go to Nijiya and have a choice of 2, but I'm disappointed you guys stopped carrying the only organic natto you had.

I was excited to see that they now have a "Vegan Vegetable Mandu" offering in the hot food section. I had to grab both options to test them out : Unlimeat Kimchi Mandoo and Unlimeat Vegetable Mandoo. Each package has 8 pieces and a packet of shoyu. After trying both, the kimchi version won me over a bit more. The other option is lighter in flavor, and I'm a fan of bold and spicy food. Adding the shoyu helps, but I could easily eat all the kimchi ones alone. I'm not sure I'd get them often, but I like having an option in the grab and go section for when I'm short on time and hungry. They also added some Pulmone vegan-friendly microwave dumplings to the frozen section, so I got those too. I noticed some plant-based bulgogi kimbap in the frozen section, but I decided to skip them because I'm iffy about the textures of frozen kimbap. I love when grocery stores have vegan-friendly options! I hope this means they'll start adding more vegan-friendly options in the grab and go hot food section. A tofu and veggie rice bowl would be nice!
