I would like to make a formal complaint regarding a cashier I encountered today. The incident happened on October 5, 2026, at approximately 6:08 PM. The cashier was an Asian woman working at Register/Checkout Lane #3, as confirmed by the supervisor. This was actually the second time I have encountered the same cashier, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. The first time, we purchased a large number of items. After scanning our purchases, she placed the items to the side and left us to bag everything ourselves. Even after the transaction was completed, there were still many items left to bag. She had already finished the checkout and had time to stand there waiting for us, but she did not offer to help. Today, we encountered her again. We actually tried to avoid having her check us out, but she ended up being our cashier again. Once again, she did not help us bag our purchases. We stood there waiting, and she simply stood there as well. Eventually, she told us, "You can just put them in there," making it clear that she expected us to do the bagging ourselves. I would like to ask: How are your cashiers trained in customer service? Is assisting customers with bagging not part of the expected customer service at your store? What concerns me even more is her overall attitude. There was no smile, no attempt to communicate with us, and no effort to provide basic customer service. I understand that different stores may have different policies regarding bagging, but basic courtesy and customer service should still be expected from someone working directly with customers. I have now encountered this employee twice, and both times I have had the same experience. If this continues to happen every time I come to your store, I will continue to report it. In my opinion, someone who consistently shows no warmth, makes no effort to communicate with customers, and does not provide basic customer service may simply not be suited for a customer-facing position. I hope management will take this complaint seriously, review the situation, and look into how this employee is being trained and whether she is meeting your store's customer service standards. read more

We finally made it to Ranch 99 Market in Chandler, and I can definitely see why it's such a popular spot! The produce department was one of the highlights of our visit. The selection was impressive, with an incredible variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that you don't always find at a traditional grocery store. Everything looked vibrant, well-stocked, and reasonably priced, making it easy to leave with more than we planned. Their fresh seafood and meat department also stood out. There was a wide assortment of fresh seafood, specialty cuts, and products that would be perfect for anyone looking to cook authentic Asian dishes at home. Everything appeared fresh, clean, and well maintained. We stopped by later in the day, so many of the bakery items had already sold out--which honestly seems like a good sign! We'll definitely plan to arrive earlier next time to see the full selection. The hot food area smelled incredible, and while we didn't have a chance to try it this visit, everything looked fresh and delicious. There were so many prepared dishes to choose from that we're already looking forward to coming back just to sample the hot food. They have tons of options for fresh fish, produce and all the yummy hard to find snacks, noodles, soups sauces and spices your heart desires. I didn't realize that there were food markets inside and will definitely come back to get lunch here. My friends and I came around 1230 on a weekday. After my first visit to this Taiwanese grocery store a couple years ago I had never been back as I was disappointed. That changed radically recently as I decided to give it another chance as I was in the area and ended up scoring some unexpected and amazing deals. I don't go to HMart in Mesa much anymore as this store has just about everything I need and is so much closer. If you want live seafood, you'll find plenty here. I really like the abundance of fresh vegetables and they're really cheap. I always pick up a kombucha squash to roast for my fur baby too. Tofu prices are the cheapest I've seen so I stock up as I love making mapo tofu and spicy tofu soup. They also have a food court and a bakery inside the store so it's very convenient to grab to go or even eat there as they have a small seating area. I do wish they had more cashiers as the lines are always so long no matter what time or day it is. read more

5.10.26 - I've been shopping here every now and then since they opened years ago. They have some items here that you won't find at other grocery stores like the many different varieties of hot pot fish/ meat balls. There are certain ice cream bars that I have only been able to find here too like the matcha ice cream bars that use good quality matcha. Some items here can be a bit more expensive so I usually go to my other usual spot instead for majority of things on my list. Was just here on Mother's day and picked up this new ube coconut spread which was $10 for 5.8oz. I would say that is expensive. They did let everyone take a carnation flower home on this day. That was nice. This store is always busy on the weekend. The parking is so bad. It can be difficult to get a parking spot on the busy weekends and people take forever to get in their car and leave the parking spot. Lately, I've been noticing how slow the cashiers are and the lines to pay can get pretty long. They really take their time picking items up, scanning and putting items into the bag. There is no sense of urgency at all. It would help to get some faster cashiers or retrain to improve speed, or even add a self check out area. read more

And the bakery had a lot more options. Located next to 85 degree bakery, which still has better baked goods than 99. They have a rewards program that isn't that great; you have to spend a lot to get anything but it's better than nothing. read more

This Asian grocery store is great! They have an amazing selection of just about everything. Make sure you visit the seafood counter as something will definitely jump out at you. Their fruit and vegetable section is great and the prices are very reasonable. Their freezer and fresh section is stocked with just about everything you can think of. Don't go here hungry as there are many stations of food enticing you. I discovered fried dumplings at Bento Sama and have been hooked since. Produce haul: Beets, napa cabbage, purple cabbage, butternut squash, white potatoes, cherry tomatoes, 3 limes. Solid, fresh, and reasonably priced. I'm not overly precious about produce, but everything looked great. I was also pleasantly surprised by the number of organic packaged options available. Spice situation? Perfect for me me. I was able to replenish turmeric and other essentials in larger bag quantities, which I strongly prefer over tiny overpriced glass jars. I do not need more jars. I need volume and value. 99 Ranch understood the assignment. Snack damage was absolutely done: Crispy broad beans (corn nut adjacent but more refined) Crispy seaweed (labeled spicy... not spicy... still delicious... a bit of a wee kick on the end) Korean BBQ seaweed snacks (absolutely delicious) Snowflake cakes (strawberry cake bites) Ramune soda with a marble because apparently I needed a physics experiment with my beverage (See photos for snack breakdown.) They were out of a few things (Chinese cinnamon), but the overall experience more than made up for it. Three full bags, produce, spices, snacks, for about $55 in this economy? I will not complain. What I appreciate most is that 99 Ranch carries items I simply cannot find elsewhere, without the shopping experience feeling chaotic or overwhelming. Dual-language labeling is appreciated. I stopped by around 11:36 AM and checked out the hot trays of ready-to-eat food. Unfortunately, most of the items--except for two entrees--looked like they were made from a previous day, so I passed and walked over to the heated display case. One duck, one soy chicken and one pale holiday chicken were hanging on the hooks for display. When I inquired how this tastes, the male employee said "tastes like holiday chicken." Not very helpful, so I asked if it was the steamed chicken that is typically served with the green, ginger onion oil. He nodded. I paid $15.99 plus tax at the counter for HALF a holiday chicken to take home. I discovered it was cold and clearly not cooked fresh today. I wanted fresh vegetables and picked up baby bok choy from the produce department. There were no lines at two of the cashiers and they were talking. I'm fine with employees chatting at slow times but I'm not fine with them conversing during my cash transaction- it felt unprofessional. My cashier also couldn't calculate how much change to return to me- The correct amount was even displayed on the screen and she had some attitude. The steamed chicken was tasty once reheated and so was my bok choy after I stir fried it with garlic, Asian pepper, oyster sauce and a bit of corn starch. I understand that Asian grocery stores don't shine in the customer service department but today's experience has convinced me to shop at Lee Lee, HMart or Mekong from now on. read more

So I went in by mistake looking for El Rancho Market to get some carne asada and found this little gem of a place. 99 Ranch Market, an Asian themed spot with groceries and a deli area as well. The people here were very nice and treated me like I was supposed to be there even though I kept asking for my Carne! Eventually one of the workers informed me that they could help me with some Asian delights which all looked delicious but that for Carne Asada I would have to try another spot. First of all, I love this place because Asian markets around Arizona are a few and far between. I love the cleanliness of this location and the fact that they have eateries inside. However, shopping in this store gets a bit overwhelming. They do have a fair amount of ingredients in the store but most are the same ingredient but different brands (i.e. there are 5 different brands for Chinese Five Spice when all I'm looking for is mustard seed). The 99 Ranch stores I've been in the Bay Area, caters to all parts of Asia but I feel like the ingredients in here only cater to one. I've been here a few times now but wanted to slip in a review because I want to share what a gem this store is. First, it can be overwhelming because most of the store is of Asian influence and if you don't read or speak the language, it can be hard to find what you want. Some of the workers don't speak English well so it can be challenging sometimes but I usually go to the customers when I have questions! I was looking for the rice noodles you throw into oil to fluff up and serve over lettuce wraps. I asked a couple of young moms who were shopping with their kids and they both were so helpful and I learned a whole new way to prepare these rice noodles! Here my 2c on the Ranch Market. The name is a little misleading. This is a large Oriental grocery store. Noodles noodles noodles I haven't spent enough time to see everything they carry but we do raid the packages on the noodles isle. So many types of noodles and brands. Last visit we grabbed some glass noodles, green noodles, wide noodles and vermicelli types as well. I'm working on homemade Thai noodle recipes and this store has everything you need! Best kept secret There is a large pastry section in front of the store with many unique sweet breads/pastries. We also tried the Ramen kitchen inside but weren't fond of their bowls. In general employees do not speak English so asking questions is a bit daunting and is my Mandarin Chinese . This is one of my favorite grocery store. You could find many products from Asia in variety different countries. The store is very well organized and very clean. The staff may not seem friendly but they are very helpful and willing to help you when you needed. They also have a very good price sometimes for fruits and vegetables which sometime even cheaper then other Asian stores that I used to go. In store they also have a bakery shop and hot deli offer for you to try out as well. I did try dumplings there which is very good. Hey now my YELPies!!! I was on a little adventure for some spicy ramen and strolled on into this grocery store. May I just say... SO MUCH TO TRY!! Anywho.. I looked to my right and a small food court was happening and I had previously been told about the Mozzarella Hot Dog thingies . Well... much to my surprise there Mochinut was! So I happily ordered a Potato Hotdog and may I say it was DELICIOUS.. I will definitely order again. I also had a Strawberry Sparkling Ade, which wasn't so bad either. The customer service was gracious and kind and as quick as made to order can be. The area and grocery store was clean and well lit. Oh.. that Ramen? I enjoy my mini shopping here, since the products are similar to what I need and because, they are often having better prices on some of my condiments. I mainly stopped here for my fresh pineapple since their pineapple seem to taste sweeter than most. This is a big market with lots of choices. The problem I had was I had no clue what most of the products were. I think it would be nice and fun to have someone there to show newbies what the products are and how to use them. It would make for a great field trip.. I have only been here a handful of times. But each time that I have stopped in, I have had a pleasant experience. This area in Chandler has really drawn many great Asian stores and eateries in the past few years. I used to live down the street from here and bummed I'm farther away now. 99 ranch Market has a history that goes back to the 80's with locations in several states. This one is a little smaller than some of the other locations. It is probably why I like it. The store itself is very organized and less cluttered than most Chinese markets that I have been too. I like shopping in the prepared food section. I always find some good stuff there. There are also a few places to grab something to eat at in the food court section at the front of the store like Mochinut and a deli. read more
