The staff there especially the cashiers are very nasty, not customer service friendly at all. They speak to you with an attitude and have no problem arguing with the customers. Which leads to confrontation. What happened to customer service they don't believe it that's for sure. They don't wear mask . No wonder the stores empty. I will not be attending the store again. This dollar store has almost everything you may need. Not everything is $99 cents but things you pay more for you can find them there for much less. But most things are just a dollar. Love this store but you can't leave without spending at least $25 read more

Ok store, Crappy Customer Service! Let's be honest. Dollar Stores are what they are. They are never going to be outstanding, and they usually get the job done. I do, however, still expect a professional experience considering they are, in fact, a business. I am not unrealistic in where I am, but this particular store is severely lacking in this area and frankly, I don't pretend to be ok with businesses forgoing basics of life: a smile, helpfulness, and courtesy. $ store pet peeve: Things that aren't close to $1.00 and aren't marked as such! The location: Located in the corner of a shopping plaza, it has ample parking spots and easy to get to. The store is a decent size and is never really packed which is nice. The store: The store itself is just ok. They have the usual $ store items that one would expect and then lots of higher priced items. They are not a typical chain store like "dollar tree" where the prices are more standard and probably regulated. In here, things were priced however. Probably marked to whatever the owner felt like. Many things were labeled letting you know it wasn't $1 but a lot of things weren't either. Not really down with that kind of ownership. The store can be tight at time with items. Things laying around, small aisles or cluttered aisles. Every time I've gone in there's usually only 1 person at the register which can cause some back up here and there. Customer service: One word. AWFUL. I'm all for different cultures opening up stores and earning a living but I'm not okay with blank stares and workers seemingly not even understanding you, or worse, not caring. It's very frustrating. I recently went in to get last minute balloons. I didn't want to pay 2.50+ at party city so figured $store is the way to go. Went in, saw a few I liked, memorized the numbers and got on line. There was one woman working. I waited a few steps in front of the register waiting for her to acknowledge me. She looked up and stared at me. No greeting so I said, hi how are you? Got Nothing. I say, I'd like some balloons please, 22,26,35,37...one of each. She doesn't say a word the whole time and slowly..I mean slowwwllyyy grabs the balloons and throws them on the counter. She rings me up and just stares at me. Doesn't tell me how much. I go, how much? She said something close to 10$. I'm like, wait, it's that for 4 balloons, I thought they were $1. Apparently they weren't, even though NO WHERE is there a sign that states what the price is. You're store is 99cent city so I guess I was silly for that assumption. I don't care about the money per say, just wish I would've known and I was annoyed at the situation and her lack of courtesy. She walks away and blew up my balloons n then just handed them to me. No "have a nice day" or "goodbye". If you are going to run a business, any business, teach your employees to be polite. Its not hard and nothing bothers me more than feeling like I should feel privileged to be in your store; that you can treat people however you want and they'll still give you business. More training is def needed. For now, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

IF I COULD LEAVE A 0 STAR REVIEW I WOULD!!!! The cashiers here are disrespectful and thieves as far as I and my family are concerned. My mother bought goods totaling $5 in her last visit here, when she got home she realized that one item (a small bottle of bleach) was missing from her shopping bag. She returned to this store and explained to the cashier that her bleach was missing and that she also wanted to do an exchange. The cashier was extremely rude to my mother, stating that they don't know that she really left it here. Now my mother is a very quiet person, it takes allot to push her buttons, but the way this woman spoke to her upset her so much that she left everything in this store, the receipt, the other items for exchange and the bleach she originally went to get. So in all $5 worth of already paid for products were left there because they do not know how to treat they loyal customers. Neither I or any member of my family will EVER shop here again...they have lost several valued customers over something that cost less than $2. Will never return. I think this is the best 99 cent spot on Staten Island. They have everything....and the price is always right! I was looking for a connector cord for my computer...a "chain" store had it for $11.95...I passed on that. Glad I did, as I found the exact same connector in 99 City for 99 cents! And as far as their "Service Desk"....they are fine and they reflect the lousy way I have heard customers address them. Sow and ye shall reap! It's the best shopping around for the "stuff" one needs, and if treated respectfully, they respond in kind. read more
