I was really nervous about stepping into the 99 Bikes shop. It was the third cycle shop I had been to in the last month with the mission of purchasing a pair of shoes and cleats. All the shops seemed so overwhelming; and to make matters worse, I was super embarrassed to be an 'indoor cyclist'. But it was such a relief to meet Stewart at the Bondi store. He was so lovely, patient, unjudgemental and didn't laugh at my novice questions. In fact, Stewart said 99bikes often fit indoor cyclists too! Because I was training to be an indoor instructor, I needed mountain shoes for grip - but we didn't know if they would fit into the gym's peddles that classically was a better match to road shoes. We chatted about the best options, while we selected a pair of shoes and watched as he taught me how to screw in my cleats. At checkout, he even said to bring back the shoes if they don't fit the gym's bikes and they'll do a swap. I originally ordered a bike online for a great price and went into the store to see if it had come in from another store, but it hasn't as yet. So I was shown some other bikes and took a while to decide as the store was very busy that day. I found another bike that I thought was great and asked the sales person what was the best price they could do! I recently purchased an e-mbt bike. Being my first I was feeling a bit vulnerable going through the process alone but I had Conner guiding me and in the end felt very confident with it and the accessories I needed. At no point did I feel pressured into getting something I didn't really need. Conner's customer service was excellent and I hope he'll be my go-to guy in the future. Ive made a number of purchases at the Bondi store, they tend to have most things in stock and are more than happy to chase up more exotic parts when ive needed them. I generally deal with Nick and find he really knows his stuff and is always happy to take the time to walk me through my options and make sure my purchase is exactly what i need. I took my bike to have the back hanger to be replaced and the service was great. The mechanical team also took a general view of my bike and adjusted the brakes. The service took one week longer than predicted as the hanger of my bike is not a standard model and had to be shipped from supplier to the store, as soon part arrived they called me to inform and got my bike ready to be picked up. Very good service. They're busy but always can give personal attention. Great range of cycling products and workshop is great. Some reviews seem to claim the service is poor but I haven't found any issues. Like I said, they're busy, so you may need to be patient but I've never had to wait too long. I recommend the store highly. read more

I find the team at 99 Bikes Bindi Junction were very helpful and knowledgeable when I visited the store to buy my Cube E bike. I test road a couple of bikes for half an hour before deciding. The team members at 99 bikes are extremely friendly and not "bike snobs". They carry a large inventory of parts and can do a job on the spot instead of asking you to take an appointment in the middle of the week. There is a large range of items at all prices as well. read more

Great shop with friendly staff who get bikes. Sounds basic but you'd be surprised how many bike shops have shop keepers, who don't really get bikes. The team at Bondi Junction love what they do, they get it! I'll be back. read more
