Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

Ram Glass installed a glass shower door at our place in Estes Park. My wife was cleaning the glass with a cloth when it unexpectedly shattered on her. It scared her quite a bit and her arms and legs were covered with cuts and scrapes from the falling glass. I'm told this is a very rare event. Ram Glass was able to get a free glass shower door replacement from the glass manufacturer they use, but the amount they charged to drive it to our house and install it was over $400. Given what happened and given that it is a rare event, I'm surprised that they wouldn't want to take care of their customer by covering the cost of the replacement install.
