I found SmartTech who immediately came out to assess the property that same day. They began working the very next day, redoing sections that had been done sloppily free of charge and explaining what they were doing each step of the way. What was supposed to take another 2-3 days was able to be finished by SmartTech in 1 day after the foreman asked the guys to stay a bit longer to finish the job. Great experience, professional, and are definitely my guys for any future roofing jobs.

Frank (the owner, I think) was nice and responsive, and sent a team to fix it for a fee. So far so good. After that, the leak got slightly better never stopped, and soon got bad again. Multiple calls, visits, usually by John, multiple $ spent, for well over a year, but the leak persisted, and I was losing my mind. So, finally I gave up on Roman and hired Abbasi Roofing - one visit, 3 guys, done. It turns out, the the outside part of the chimney stack, that Roman supposedly fixed, had large cracks between bricks that weren't filled with the sealant and totally exposed. And since this was on the side of the chimney stack, facing away from my house, it was the hardest to get to, wasn't visible from the ground, and John who came alone would not be able to reach there without the help of another person. I must say that Roman Roofing is less expensive than Abbasi, but that does not do me any good if they keep coming back, keep charging money, and the problem still persists. Based on that painful experience, I would not recommend.

Usman and his incredibly capable crew restored and repaired my 6 story townhouse back exterior and…read moremy roof, which are made out of EIFS stucco. We had hired a structural engineer to add flashing to balconies as well as ceiling fans. When he added the fans, he cut into the EIFS and did a very poor job patching the channel he cut to hide the electric. This caused condensation inside the home and required immediate repair. Usman is a class act. He personally showed up to the project himself every single day. He also did certain parts of the project himself or was helping his men in any way he could by doing various tasks. The roof needed a sauna removal, which Usman and his crew did with extreme care, but also left lots of damage to the EIFS stucco. Usman and his team carefully repaired it. Upon repair, he inspected our roof and found many critical issues we were unaware of. It was not done in a "pushy contractor" way, it was done because he knows his business and his products so well, he wanted to figure out why the roof was requiring so much product and because he is INCREDIBLY detail oriented. It was because the EIFS was getting wet due to exposed limestone joints, which over time would have meant we would have to redo the entire EIFS (a very big and expensive job) and he also found an immediate future issue which would have caused a leak. We were able to fix and get ahead of both, while staying on the original timeline. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated Usman and his team's attention to detail from start to finish of the project. Over the past 8 years in my townhouse, I have put a lot of work into it. It is tricky to find a great contractor. One that is not only talented, but also cares about his work AND his workers!!! That is a true sign to me of a wonderful company. He not only ordered lunch for his crew, he ALSO ordered lunch for my housekeeper and myself! I kept calling my husband and telling him how kind Usman was and how thorough. He is EXTREMELY thorough. He is collaborative in the sense that he will listen to the owner (in this case me) and address any and all concerns or questions I had with thoughtfulness and care. We hadn't planned on restoring the front of my building, which is limestone, but I had a quick question about it (NOT part of the scope!) for Usman and after I received the answer, my husband and I decided to get a bid to do preventative work to restore the front using Usman and his team again. I will absolutely continue to be a repeat customer. Owning a building requires contractors and Usman and his team are absolute gems. Clean, courteous, professional, and talented. We have spent hundreds of thousands on "top contractors" and some have been good, some awful, Usman was great. I couldn't recommend Hi Tech Contracting & Restoration more.

We had been chasing the same leak in our Gramercy building for years. Different contractors…read morerepaired different sections of the roof, applied coatings, replaced flashing, and each time we were told the problem was solved. It never was. When NY Roofing Manhattan came out, they approached the issue differently. Instead of focusing only on the visible leak, they evaluated the entire roof system and identified several contributing factors, including drainage problems and deteriorated waterproofing around portions of the parapet wall. The repairs were more extensive than what had been done previously, but the explanation made sense and gave us confidence that we were finally addressing the actual cause rather than the symptoms. Throughout the project they kept us updated with photos and took the time to answer every question we had. It's now been through an entire season of heavy rain and, for the first time in years, the leak has not returned. Looking back, I wish we had found them sooner because it probably would have saved us a lot of money and frustration.

That alone told us we were dealing with a professional operation. The crew completed the entire project in three days, which honestly surprised us given the complexity of the access situation. They replaced the roof system, handled all the waterproofing details properly, and when they were done they put everything back together better than they found it. The terrace looked great and the work was clean from start to finish. We haven't had a single leak since and for the first time in years we're not dreading a heavy rainstorm. It says you waive your right to be compensated above the inspection fee if they are negligent!! Do not sign! Do not use their services!!! UPDATE!! Based on owners response: The owner didn't refer me to his insurance as he claims. He referred me to his lawyer, who stated they were not obligated to pay me for their negligence. They will only return my inspection fee if I sign a release form. Mark, please don't make me post the release form next. Having your insurance fix the damage would have been the honorable thing to do.

Finding a vendor that can 'do-it-all' was a head-pulling process until I found Mikhail (he goes by 'Michael') who said yes to all three. He showed up on time, immediately ran a ground scan performing the oil tank sweep, thoroughly went through the house for the inspection, and left a radon test kit in the basement to collect an air sample, all for about two hours. Very next day, I received three reports at 9pm: 1. Inspection 2. Termites 3. Oil Tank Sweep Currently awaiting a radon test result. Since collecting a sample takes two days and the sample has to be shipped to a lab, several more days are needed. He's done a great job and I highly recommend hiring him for your due diligence.
