Not so with Final Touch! They explained everything clearly, including why costs have gone up recently, and were so communicative I quickly got peace of mind. The positive reviews are no joke! They did an amazing job, very fast and efficient, and were honest when they accidentally over supplied (thus overcharged) and gave me a refund. They even understood my insane way of paying (I was out of town while my partner had to manage in-person). Absolutely recommend and trust these guys! Could not be happier. And it just rained and hey, no leaks! Whew!

I first contacted a local company, but they weren't very responsive--and I quickly realized I couldn't move forward with my insurance claim without the help of a reliable roofer. That's when I found Final Touch Roofing, and I honestly feel so lucky I did. Ovi and Lia are absolutely the best. Lia, especially, was incredible--always available, always clear, and patient in explaining every step. Dealing with insurance was overwhelming, but Lia and Ovi guided me through the entire process and helped me submit every detail needed. Lia is also one of the most organized and reliable schedulers I've ever worked with. She always let me know exactly when we could talk and what to expect. Their pricing was clear and very reasonable--no surprises. Once construction started, Ovi made sure everything ran smoothly. The team they brought in was respectful, punctual, fast, and cleaned up beautifully once the job was done. This truly feels like a family-run business you can trust. I'll definitely be recommending Final Touch Roofing to everyone I know, and they'll always have my business. 5 stars without a doubt!

*Would Hire Again*…read more [Project Scope] Re-roof on a one story single family house, including new underlayment, drip edge, composite shingles, plus sheathing repairs and ventilation updates. FWIW, in my line of work we nit-pick over details & craftsmanship. I bring those expectations--for better or worse--to maintaining my house. Unsurprisingly, I tend to find some level of fault with any contractor. [Communication] The project manager (Danny) and front office (Melissa) were quick to answer the many questions I had via email, text, and phone. They were patient while I took my time selecting a contractor. They also coordinated directly with my solar contractor so the rooftop PV system was off the roof for no longer than necessary. The PM was out briefly each day to check the work and collect payment. [Availability] I didn't need the work done urgently, but Smart Roofing did start work within two weeks of signing the contract and finished within 3 days. [Warranty] One reason I chose this company was their standing as Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, which gets a workmanship warranty backed by Owens Corning (except the solar penetrations in our case), should the contractor ever go out of business. [Workmanship] Crews (separate tear-off and install) were on-time, respectful, and cleaned up each day. Overall, the work appears to be done well, though I'm no roofer. The way some of the holes in the roof were cut and flashings set did seem to be rushed, but so far it's watertight and that's what matters. The original sheathing had large gaps, which I asked to be fixed, although they may have done so without my asking, that wasn't communicated one way or another. They handled the addition of an exhaust vent flashing, relocation of a vent flashing, and removal of an unused vent flashing as per my request. [Issues] At some point, the furnace b-vent was pushed into the attic, breaking an elbow inside the attic. I ended up getting the part and doing the repair myself. Similar as well with the water heater b-vent: it was pushed down and crushed a section, but wasn't caught by the crew. Plus, the vent was reset at an angle so it's now pressed up against the house. Finally, while cleanup went fairly well, there was still trash and a few handfuls of nails scattered throughout the property, roof, and gutters--a small complaint and probably par for the course. Slightly-related... at no point did a Simi Valley building inspector come onto our property. For both inspections, a truck appeared across the street, yet no one got out. No looking at the back of the roof, no rooftop inspection, no check that sheathing was sound and work done correctly. What a joke, that $560 payment to the city. Thanks, Danny and crew, for the work!

Decided to do a full roof underlayment replacement, searched on Yelp and received 4 quotes with almost identical materials from 4 different licensed roofers. Quote from Evi at Smart Roofing is the lowest with a bit more coverage, and Evi always answered my questions in a timely manner. Eventually signed a contract with Evi, project started in March during the hottest week. Evi kept me posted on a daily basis, and their crews are friendly and hard working, cleaned up before leaving every day. 1st day to demolition, 2nd day for city inspection and material delivery, then it took 3 days to complete the installation of Westlake Royal TileSeal HT underlayment. Smart Roofing offers unlimited plywood and tile replacement as needed, and they do not subcontract, all crewmembers are employed by Smart Roofing. Evi brought company's insurance document along with different underlayment samples when coming for an estimate, my project is backed by 10-year labor warranty and 30-year underlayment manufacturer warranty. Need to wait for the rain season to see how everything holds up, many thanks to Evi and all the crewmembers.

We hired Roofing Angels in late November 2025 to replace a leaking roof on our duplex, paid a…read more$1,000 deposit promptly, and what followed was nearly four months of delays, disorganization, and surprise charges. From the start, communication was poor. They repeatedly blamed permitting and city hall for delays, promising the permit was "always around the corner" and that we'd be first up once the new year started -- that never materialized on time. When heavy rains hit in mid-January and the leak was getting worse, I pushed them to tarp the roof in the meantime. They tarped the wrong unit of our duplex. The tarp was also done so poorly it was flying off the roof, and our tenant's unit continued to leak throughout. By mid-February they still hadn't broken ground, this time blaming the rainy season. Work only started after I pushed them again. Once the project was underway, the original estimate ballooned -- they came back asking for roughly $1,000 more for the solar work and additional roofing costs. We paid what we felt was fair and moved forward. The final straw: after they issued a "final invoice" and we paid it in full -- believing we were done -- they came back asking for an additional $3,250. They apologized for "any inconvenience" as if it were a scheduling mix-up, not a failure to communicate thousands of dollars in charges before issuing a closing invoice. The roof work itself may be fine, but the experience getting here was exhausting. Constant runaround, poor follow-through, a botched tarp job that made our tenant's situation worse, and financial surprises at every turn. We would not recommend or use them again.

Based on consistent good reviews, I contacted Shelter in August of 2025…read more We had experienced numerous electrical power outages for several years, so I began to investigate possible solutions. What I wanted ideally was a system that would automatically power our home in the event of a power failure. I initially looked at generator systems, but discovered several downsides to that technology. Generators need fuel, which could be be gasoline, diesel, or natural gas. Of these, natural gas was the most attractive, but that would require significant trenching for a new line around the house. In addition, placement of a generator was a problem, due to zoning requirements. Also, gasoline/diesel/natural gas generators have an internal combustion engine, which needs maintenance, like oil changes. The best solution for me was to have a battery backup system installed. This type of system is also known as a "power wall." Shelter recommended a 2-battery system made by FranklinWH (WH stands for Whole House). The batteries are 15 KWH each, for a total of 30 KWH. In our case, this is sufficient to power our home for 24 hours, even during the summer when we are using the central A/C. Other times of the year, 30 KWH would power everything for 48 hours or more. Since installation we have had several power failures, ranging from a few minutes to several hours. In all cases, the backup system kicked in so quickly that didn't even notice. We didn't even have to reset any clocks. When then grid power comes back online, the batteries recharge automatically. Shelter did a great job of understanding what we wanted, and provided an excellent solution. We had a very minor issue that we noticed several months later, and Shelter responded immediately to remedy the issue. I recommend Shelter Roofing and Solar without hesitation.

I was also ignored by phone calls and "I'll get back to you" was what he told me. I would stay away and use some other company that is very clear about how the new incentives work.

Throughout the job, they were professional, organized, and kept the work moving efficiently. I bought my house in Sherman Oaks in 1997 and while I was out of town on work for a couple months…read moreshortly after moving in, El Nino hit. Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. I think that if you meet with a number of roofers, you will agree with me. I highly recommend...
