Rude, Rude, Rude! The person setting up my appointment told me to arrive at a specific time and when I got there 5 minutes early they told me I was late and canceled my appointment. She refused to fit me in or reschedule. They charged me the $75 for NOTHING The driving instructor that I was talking to was condescending and lectured me for five minutes on being on time, then told me many people fail this test. She asked me if I knew what smog was without telling me. It was an acronym for something, then proceeded to tell me because I didn't take their classes, I would probably fail. Even though I explained to her, I was told to be there at that time and was five minutes early she refused to help in any way. The next day when I called to explain the situation and try to reschedule, the girl told me they had a 15 minute late policy. Later in the conversation it changed to 10 minutes, and then finally five minutes. I asked her which was it? 15 minutes, 10 minutes, or five minutes? she got flustered and told me that she couldn't refund my money. Ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else read more

I got to this location at 10:05 with an appointment for 10:30 driving test. As I pulled in the instructor was entering a car to do a driving test with another person. (He left at10:10 exactly, I checked the time) So as they took off, I went to the door it was locked because no one else was in the building and I proceeded to wait in my car. Time is passing, it's now 10:30 no one is in the building and we don't see the car pulling back up. It's 10:45 now and we see a woman who took the driving test come out of the building and the man who took her test comes to the door. His name is Dilon Ridke btw. So I go to the door and say I have a 10:30 appointment and he says you should of been here and that he only has 19 min to do the test and it has to be 30min, so he can't do the test. This man was late from his previous driving test and basically told me that I was late because I wasn't at the door. Mind you, I was there at the location at 10:05 seen him leave at 10:10 and he didn't reappear until 10:47 inside the building. Also, I'm not aware they have a back area. So I'm waiting in the front of the building looking straight at the window of the business seeing no type of movements until 10:45-47. Then a young lady comes out from the front door (which was the girl who the instructor left with when I got there) then not even a min later the instructor (Dilon) shows up to the door. So I get out the car go to the door to greet him and let him know I'm here for my 10:30 appointment and he says I'm late and can't do the drive test in 19 min and I won't be refunded my money.... WTH I was so upset because I was there way before my time and he seen me before he left to do the test with the other young lady. He was running late to do her test and had the nerve to tell me that I was late and couldn't do my test and on top of that say I can't get my money back. This dude was rude and so inconsiderate on how I was there before my time and he was not even in the building until 10:45. Way past my testing time. I spoke with a woman at the front desk at 11 o'clock because I waited until the business actually opened to speak with someone about this matter. She was some what helpful, but mostly tried to cover for the instructor and bring up all these rules they had in place about we needed to be in front of the door at our assigned time or 15 min before. Now , that would have been valid but... the instructor wasn't even in the building until 10:45-47 so how would that have made a difference??? (Mind you, no one else was in the front where we can see) SMH this was just a terrible experience with this location and the lack of accountability on their part for running late and canceling a paid customer is unprofessional. read more

took my daughter there for her driving test. before the test even started they explained that she probably would not pass because she did not take THIER class.. long story short on everything the lady instructor docked her full points on everything, no partial points. kept telling my daughter that she needs to take their full course. just trying to extort more money read more

The front office staff are so helpful and friendly and the instructors are very caring and knowledgeable to make sure we have safe and knowledgeable drivers on the road. I was just told by 911 Driving in Kent that they cannot schedule a test drive bc they do not have proof that my son attended the online makeup class on Sept 8th due to the fact that they do not have a roster from that instructor on that date as to who was in class that day. Isn't it Sept 26th today? My son needs his license. He finished the online class in MARCH and this whole experience with scheduling drives has been a nightmare, now this. Do I recommend them? My husband went here for his written exam, the day it happened they didn't have a translator there to help anyone out so my husband stood up and helped translate the test for people, he had taken the driving test twice and they failed him twice. The first time he had a 90% which is passing and said "because I thought you were going to hit that car I failed you." Same guy second time; " in the state of Washington any unmarked road is 25 miles an hour. You went 31." Where does it say that in the driving test book that you hand out to drivers does it say that? The road wasn't a residential area it was a main driving road which is 35mph.. and he got an 89 still passing but seemed to fail him again. So we went to another driving place and he passed the first time with an 80%. Go somewhere else for driving they are just taking your money and failing you for anything read more

As an adult, going back to driving school for a second time game me a much different perspective from the one I had when I was a teen. Originally, I was a product of the public school Drivers Ed program, but returned to 911 Driving Academy for a refresher course. Driving today is much different than it was driving 20 years ago and I felt that I needed an updated version of driver's education. That's why I chose 911. The instructors are the most knowledgeable concerning the l rules of the road. These guys & gals all presently work for or are retired First Responders from our local Fire, E.M.T. & Law Enforcement Offices. Who better to teach you the laws and give you the skills that they know and they've seen work firsthand, but our firefighters and police officers. The instructors I had and a few I ran into while I was there, were all very kind and accommodating and my driving instructor put my mind at ease, while we were out on the road. They really are a nice group of men and women. After my experience, I signed my 16 year old son, Stelios, up. He starts in February! Do yourselves a favor, Moms and Dads. Allow yourself the peace of mind that 911 Driving Academy will give you. It's not easy putting your kid behind the wheel. Let the professionals at 911 Academy steer your children in the right direction to becoming a knowledgeable, skilled and responsible driver. They will not disappoint. Oh! My son took the class through the Kent location. His classes were 100% online through zoom and the instructors were great. I loved that they not only out the safety of the students at the top but also the instructors due to covid. It was nice though I'm sure hectic for the schedulers to only have one student in the car at a time but it made me feel safe sending my immunocompromised son into the car with the instructor. Due to covid he already had his 50 hours and 10 hours of driving in before he was even able to get behind the wheel with an instructor. That being said it's not their fault in any way. I'm only giving 4 stars because my sons instructor told a lot of "mission religious" stories which wasn't the purpose of the class. Would I sign him up again even if it was the name instructor. 100% I would! The owners are very great and very very responsive which I greatly appreciated. read more

All the instructors are very qualified to teach teenager how to drive especially they have been out on the field (Roads) as a police officer they see a lot of things out there on the roads and especially when you have to drive really fast some times on the roads. Instructors know what to expect and they could teach you teenager what to do and what not to do on the road. Instructor. I have seen lots of accident (Investigation) on the road so they could share what not to do. This is my second teenager going through these classes I just wanna say thank you to all the instructors for teaching them valuable instruction what to do and what not to do. Thank you. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. This place sells you on the guise of a great program but fail to inform that is is really no available time slots for driving. There is lack of information provided when you call or email. They rarely answer the phone or respond with questions. When asked how to book a drive if there's no slots? "Oh check on it 3-4 times a day. People cancel all the time...". Not sure if all locations operate the same way but there has to be better options. Great school! We love how they handle students and parents, we had just positive experience.

Returned in March 2022 to 911 driving school for my daughter after my son had a very good experience in 2020. Unfortunately, they have gone down hill and do not communicate well with families. Sadly, they are not providing drives for students that have been in class since March. We check the driving schedule every morning starting at 6:30 am and throughout the day and the calendar is full until July at the moment, and with the lack of communication we aren't sure our daughter will get her license in September like she should. We have emailed, called, and no response on when we can expect this portion to happen. If they are unable to full-fill their obligation to the students that have already paid and done the book work, maybe they should stop accepting new students until they are caught up. Sadly, it feels like they are there for the money and not the students. Hopefully one day 911 driving school will communicate with the students as to when they can expect to get some drives in. We have two friends who are in the same situation and no positive outcome for any of us. I have filed a formal complaint with the Washington Attorney Generals and the Better Business Bureau. This is unacceptable, paying $695 for a class that can't be completed on time or within a reasonable time-frame. read more

I was left with a bad impression after visiting this school. we paid for the entire course for my son. he attended all the theoretical classes, but when he came to the practical (driving training) he was refused because he speaks English. Although we tried to explain that he understood everything, we were still refused. Our issue was not resolved, we were simply told to go to another school. All the instructors at 911 driving school are very professional. The online classes are taught in a way so that the students pass the tests and there is not unnecessary teaching. A friend of ours took a competitor's driving course and the online instructor played a Bugs Bunny cartoon during one of the sessions and had a slight potty mouth. You can learn the same things somewhere else for a cheaper price. They say you can email them but they'll never reply to your email. Their phone lines always seem to be busy when you call. Almost impossible to get a hold of. I tried calling, leaving messages, and emailing. Not one call back or response. The only reliable way to ask a question or even schedule something was by going down in person. Even that was a chore because it took ungodly long to do simple tasks. On top of that I felt like the whole course was a waste of time. I had to practically reteach my daughter everything for the written exam and work extensively with her on the behind the wheel test on skills she was lacking from her drives. All in all it was a disappointment through and through. Everything seemed like a cash cow for the bureaucracy. If I could get my money back I would. Avoid this company. Recently enrolled my daughter, she finished the classroom portion, they would not schedule her final drive times stating they were delayed, this continued for 5 months, until we had to contact them yet again and request proof of completion of the classroom portion, so we could sever ties with this horrible buisness and its rude employees, they refused, we than received a partial refund, and was told my daughter was dropped from the class. They have continued to spread false stories about this, but fail to see the number of people online complaining about this exact thing. We are now forced to proceed legally, and force my daughter to start over taking the full course again, resulting in her being pulled from Varsity sports and us to pay another $700. This disgusting business markets itself as "using Police and Firefighters as instructors" but I am a retired Firefighter and its disgusting they are allowed to claim that and treat people the way they do. They responded by the typical "we felt bullied" by his emails. The normal response everyone gives now when they get called out on there poor business practices. The amount of complaints against this location for the same stuff cant be a lie as to the legitimacy of this complaint! read more

BUYER BEWARE: Knowledge test price is PER TEST! $30 EVERY TIME. Other schools, including other 911 driving schools offer discounted rates if you fail the first time. ALSO, they will NOT let you know what sections you need to study/missed and other schools will. Highly disappointed in this company. I was told they are privately owned, so other 911 schools can do things differently. Please keep this in mind so you aren't feeling like they are all about profit and not about actually helping the students. Our instructors were nice, although the very first one was really rude and disrespectful (I don't recall the name). The classes were great online. Anything else, sucks. Can't reach them on the phone, can't book anything online for drives because they are booked up and if you call you will find that it is still difficult to find times. Friends used I5 Drive with no issues. This is where we will take our next kid later this year. read more

Waste of money! For $750 you can teach your own child to drive. They pretend it's because of Covid and short staffing, but they allow unlimited amount of kids to take online class and there aren't enough drives available. Save your $750. There is never anyone to answer the phone, the server doesn't work when you try to sign up for a drive, you are given the link one time, so don't lose it. They have about 200 kids between online and in-person, chances are your kid will learn to drive from you. Save your money: your child can read the book and take the written exam, you aren't going to get a drive anyway, so either way you will be teaching your kid. Theft...save yourself from being ripped off $750. read more

It was a little unclear at times exactly what the process was for signing up for drives and they booked very fast so it was a bit challenging to arrange what drives were needed but over all we had a good experience. read more

Great, professional teachers. Everything a new driver need to know to be a great driver.

Let me start by saying that I will choose this school again for my younger teen. The instructors were great, patient, knowledgeable and kind. When I would ask my son questions about driving, I was often surprised about the indepth answers he could offer and how well informed he was. It was incredibly convenient that my son could stay on campus to take the after school course. The frustration came in scheduling and communication. The online portal is useless. I checked it dozens of times per day, waiting for drive times to pop up and they NEVER did. Confused, I even called the school several times to see if my portal settings were incorrect. We were told that the demand was high in the summer and that drives weren't available or that instructors hadn't scheduled drives. However, they charged me the same as other sessions with less demand Don't even bother using your portal. Call or show up in person. Don't expect them to respond to your emails either. They won't. Insist that you get what you paid for and in a reasonable timeframe. Kids forget what they have learned. My son's driving instructor told him to take the written test right away so he wouldn't forget the material. The topper was today when my son took his written test (additional fee of $30). The room was packed, at least 30 people. The test was pen and paper- not digital. My son took the test 12 hours ago and we still don't know if he passed. When I called, the staff blamed it on the GM being busy and they said the scores were just being entered. When we arrived this morning, we were rudely told that as of last week, they weren't taking walkins. When my husband pointed out that their website said otherwise, they let us in and said it was too recent to inform customers of the change. Apparently, we are supposed to just know these things. Here's my advice, 911. You have a fantastic product but you are severely understaffed. Your communication makes customers feel like there is a game to be figured out. It is frustrating and unacceptable. If you can't handle the number of students, don't enroll past your capacity. read more

We have had both daughters go through 911. Overall we enjoyed it but is do have a request. Either limit the amount of students you enroll for periods of time to match that of the instructors you have, or hire more instructors. Several, Several times I would go online to book rides and there were nothing available for months but if we walked into your location we were easily able to book a ride. I know many kids in my daughters class were unable to get the required drives in by the required time span. Yes it all worked out but the stress is high for all. read more

The school rates high with me except that there are too many different teaching styles, rules snd theory per instructor. Each one teaches differently which confuses the student. Maybe a more consistent requirement could be put in place for 911 instructors so that the students learning will be more consistent. read more

From a former student's perspective: 911 is a great school to go to/send your kids to obtain a drivers lisence. It is taught by police officers--some of who are really cool (especially Bill!), others not so much. Even if you get stuck with a grumpy teacher, you're still bound to learn all the skills you need to know. read more

Rafael was a great instructor and provided a great classroom experience. My daughter enjoyed the class and seems to have a good understanding (at least as much as a teenager can have) of what it takes to be a good, safe driver. It is great to see her so excited, yet cautious about driving. It takes a calm and patient person to teach teen driving. All three instructors (Rafael and the others who instructed the in-person drives) did a great job of providing direct, constructive feedback and reinforcing the positives - making this a great learning experience for her. Aside from a few technical issues with signing up for drives, this experience has been much, much better than my older daughter's at another driving school. I was a bit skeptical about the higher price, but friends' recommendations and the company reputation convinced to sign up with 911 - I'm happy we did! read more
