Shannon Paton Ordered a standing prime rib toast. Worst piece of meat I have ever wasted my money on. Tons of sinew, cooked according to their directions. Tough. Just horrible. Over the last 5 or 6 years, I go less and less. The meats can be dicey, right on the edge of bad. Some of the frozen meats are so very freezer burned the taste is embedded in them and unfit to eat. Hit or miss a lot. Some frozen meats are already way past their prime for selling. I had forgotten how dry and stringy their frozen turkeys are. I bought one this week after cooking it and eating a bit I decided to just grind all the rest of the bird up for dog food. I think the guy who wrote review about buying chicken necks and other products the he grinds at home for his dog is spot on. However that is where it ends. The meat here is suitable for a dog but not human consumption. The ground beef smells terrible when you cook it, like it is spoiled. I have a strong suspicion the sell by dates are altered or meat is just disgusting. I have had same problem with pork and other food items here. Stick to the processed meats if you must shop here, there should be enough salt and chemicals in it to kill the bacteria but you might end up with other health issues. read more

We don't know where to start. We buy very many of 90 Meat Outlet's products: steaks, roasts, lamb chops, chicken, as well as excellent cold-cuts and sliced cheeses, potatoes, fruit, frozen and fresh veggies, delicious breads, crackers of all description, great cake--you name it! We even buy our dog food there, as they order me 40 lbs of chicken necks and 40 lbs. of chicken backs every three or four weeks, which I grind myself, although they remind me that they will grind it all for me if I want them to. All of their meats and other products are fresh, and great! Who needs the supermarket? I do think that one of the most important things that 90 Meat Outlet has to give is unsurpassed customer service. Ask anyone, anyone on the floor for help and he or she will go out of their way to see that you get what you need. Plus, go there once and they're very nice. Go there twice, and they remember you and say, Hi! Go there three times, and you're a beloved regular customer who is recognized, and treated like royalty. I used to go regularly until I purchased a whole beef tenderloin that was completely spoiled. Gave them the benefit of the doubt until I bought a frozen chicken and when I thawed it out it was spoiled. I'll pay the couple extra dollars and go to Arnold's. Too scared to go back there. I would steer clear unless you want food poisoning. read more

four stars because of the kinds of meat you can buy here. Rabbit, duck and bison as well as other funky types of animals you can cook and then eat. The hours are absolutely terrible. 8-4pm monday through friday, how is anyone who works for a living able to goto this store? Saturday 8-1 is okay but still a little bit ridiculous these banking hours force me to go elsewhere. I purchased a 118.42 prime rib (and a cart of other meats and goodies) a week before Xmas with an expiration date exceeding the day. I opened the meat Christmas morning and it was rancid and had to throw it in the garbage. I contacted Alexis a day later leaving all my information and didn't receive an email or phone call with any form of apology/comment. No contact at all. Because of the lack of respect, I will NOT be going back to there store. read more

I stumbled upon this gem by accident while being lost in Springfield and was really glad I did! The first thing that I noticed, was that the store was jammed! All those people could not be wrong about shopping there. The next thing, was that the store was impeccably clean; there were easily 5-6 people scattered about cleaning and wiping down displays from the floor on up the entire time I was there. I bought boxes of salads that would sell for $4-5 at a grocery chain for 79 cents a box. They were not close to the expiration dates. I bought chicken cube steaks and cooked them that night. I will buy a larger package next time. I loved all the different ethnic foods that I could buy at a fraction of supermarket pricing. The biggest thing for me was that at the register, I mentioned that it was my first time in the store. The cashier called over the manager who came, introduced himself, welcomed me and said if I ever had any questions or need any help, feel free to ask for him. That is service! Michele S.
