They are part butcher shop, part deli, part bakery, part grab and go entree place, part produce store and part grocery store. And their prices are beyond belief. We just spent only $28.35 on all of this (below prices are before tax): An 11-ounce Raspberry Butter coffee cake for $2.59 Two and a half pounds of meat stuffed peppers for $12.82 A pint of pasta fagioli soup for $1.99 2 pounds of baked cabbage leaves in tomato sauce for $3.79 14-ounces of potato cheese pierogis for $4.71 1.6 pounds of chicken thighs for $2.72 That's plenty of dinners, for next to nothing. Oh, and the sweet woman at the checkout said this as she rang up the Pierogis - "I hope you like them, I made them last night". Welcome to our rotation, Waniewski!!

The person who took my order over the phone was great and helpful. I explained I would be there at 345 to pick up my order. No problem he said. I got there and waited. It would not be a concern at all if I didn't observe 2 people over by the meat cases standing there looking at me. No comment or welcome. No hello. Just kept ignoring me while they occasionally glanced over pretending not to see me. There were 3 other people on the meat area where they cut it up. 2 lounging against the door frames and one who appeared to be cleaning everything while the other 2 looked on. Teamwork at its finest. They also saw me and ignored me as well. After a while I asked if there was anyone not busy standing around who could just hand me my order. The guy who was pretending not to see me came over. No apology or thank you. Nothing. Not a word. The cashiers and front end staff are consistently great. Very welcoming and friendly. This was the first time I went in on a Saturday. Not typical of the service I get. I paid 346.00 for my order. Will never go back on a Saturday again. I think your cashiers should probably teach Customer Service skills to your back room. I left there totally irritated.

As Mr. Austin explained to me, he is around during the days/times posted, but he might working in one of their fields. (If he knows that you are going to visit, he'll plan to be in the area of the farm shop.) He was also kind enough to explain some basics about choosing meat for what I might want to cook. He was so helpful! I'd never bought meat directly from the source before, and I'd never set out to buy grass-fed beef before (but I've been getting more interested in knowing about food sources). Every weekday, I drive by the Austin's Farm on my way to work, and I can see how well the animals are kept, and how happy they are in their spacious fields. In a sense, it could seem morbid to see the animals that might end up on my table, but I'm actually glad to know that they are healthy cows who live good lives. And, I like knowing that my purchases directly help to keep a local farm family in business. Best of all, their food just tastes amazing!! I hope you'll stop by and give it a try!!
