Our family was needing a spot that could accommodate our pup, and the 87 Restaurant was the place to be! The service was attentive, the food was great, and the patio was just perfect for our family. Two thumbs up!

A small Americana cafe that also serves Mexican fare. Excellent service from some very proud local workers. Small town with a small employee pool to get good quality service workers? But they did it. Super friendly and super efficient. Looks like they knew just about everyone coming in the front . . . or back, door. Prices were good and portions were adequate. We enjoyed the chicken fried steak with very good house made mashed potatoes and slaw as opposed to their canned green beans. Drank some fresh iced tea and we were off to another section of roadway heading to our next destination. Dicks

Best pull-off ever. Order everything. That's my rec. In all seriousness, staff was amazing and helpful. As someone who isn't the most happy with the chaos of elegant restaurants, this is the best meal for those wandering the quieter path.

2/6/25-When I stopped for the night the guy at my hotel recommended this place. It had classic American food. I ordered the cat fish which came with fries and slaw. I would say that the volume to price was ok. The problem was how greasy the fish was. They really needed to dry the fish on paper towels or something. The batter had a good flavor, but just way too much grease. I actually could not finish my fish because of how greasy it was and I would not recommending this dish if you do not have a gallbladder. The server was nice. Even though they weren't busy there was one large group of construction workers. From the people that were there when I was I would say it was popular with the locals. I was eating by myself and there was a mix of groups/families and single people.

Super cute place with good food and nice folks. My husband and I shared the steak quesadilla (which was a big serving with perfectly crisp tortilla, tender steak, and good quality cheese) so we could save room for pie (banana cream and definitely worth saving room for!). We sat on the porch so our dog could hang out with us. The well placed ceiling fans helped a lot with the heat and it was nice to sit in the shade and check out all the decorations. The service was excellent! And for those on road trips like we were, the added bonus of private, well maintained bathrooms! We also took advantage of the small dog run to let our pooch run around a bit.

We love stopping here on our travels. We love the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. We set outside which is nice but sometimes the flies are too much. The staff is very attentive.

A fun stop on a road trip. Really cute outdoor seating that is creatively put together with railroad boxes. I recommend the nachos. The half portion is huge and the amount of toppings are amazing. The hamburger is standard -- not overly flavorful but generous in size. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was acceptable to good. It's about 7 inches in length and comes with green beans and your choice of potatoes. The gravy was quite delicious on top. The chicken fried steak was a little on the lumpy side. Not nice and crispy as I'm used to eating. I don't think it was worth the $13+ for the other unless you are craving cafeteria style country fried steak. Overall, I recommend it as a lunch stop because it's fun and a great place to rest and eat.

No recommendation. Locals seem to enjoy this restaurant…read more I don't want to come across overly critical, so simply put it's a middle of the road maw-and-paw shop restaurant in a tiny town where competition isn't driving the restaurant to the next level. So, they serve basic southern comfort fare and steaks, with acceptable flavor and quality. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The beans were from a can. The white gravy was runny, like they were trying to stretch it out to last the evening. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great either. So, overall, my "no recommendation" isn't an indictment, it's simply that I'm left with no opinion. I probably won't return to this restaurant.

I consider myself an honest reviewer. I'll start with the positive the place seems clean and we…read morehonestly picked this place because online it looked decent and reasonable. Food was basic but enjoyable. Service is a little slow and the waitress seems like she is going a million miles per hour with maybe 3 tables at most in the restaurant. She might also be the person cooking so maybe that's why she seemed so busy. What I didn't appreciate at all is the prices on the menu are not what I was charged. She did apologize and said menus are not updated and obviously paying $4 extra per plate wasn't something I was happy to do. Based on basic food, service and not honoring menu prices. I only give this place 3 stars . We're a military family coming from Fort Carson down to Fort Cavazos so we had no option but to stop and eat. Hope this post helps others traveling.

The service here was top-notch and the food was excellent! I love the history of the restaurant,…read morealmost as much as I loved my chicken salad on a croissant. The tater tots were fresh and crispy. My friend had the stacked enchilada with an egg on top... It really looked amazing! Tasted good too. Portions were very large. There is a bar attached to this restaurant but we did not go into it. The decor is lovely and it's very spacious. A lot of men wearing cowboy hats in attendance! Definitely make sure you check out the bathrooms before you leave... Especially the handles on the door stalls. So cool!

The dining room was spacious, every table could be filled, and you'd still be able to walk without asking people to move in. The Bar was equally spacious with plenty of drinking options. We got the deep fried devils egg for the appetizer, these were an amazing combination of texture and flavor. We each got a steak for the main course, both were cooked to perfection and tender beyond anything in our recent memory. The sweet potatoes were so perfectly cooked in seasoned. They were easily consumed using only a fork. We followed up with banana pudding and bread pudding. Both were out of this world. It's unusual to get banana pudding that's made in house and not some flavored glue out of a can. It was topped with whipped cream that actually melted, which told me it was real whipped cream. And it wasn't premade before I ordered because all the vanilla wafers both in it and around, it were crispy and delicious. The bread pudding was equally as delicious. It was dense and sweet and had a nice subtle flavor of bourbon. Even the iced tea was made in house, not from some concentrate or taken out of a soda fountain Our server Parla was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, she made our evening a wonderful overall experience

We had some time so we left the Guyon OK and headed toward New Mexico. So we are always looking for a place to eat lol! We ended up going through the town of Boise, then on to Clayton NM. I found Mary's Back Porch on Yelp and it was the only place open in town that we could find. It is totally eclectic! Flowers. bric a brac- even a cockatoo when you walk in. We walked to the back and there were a few tables covered in red checkered table cloths. Ruby the server and all around go to person, brought us menus. I had a chicken salad sandwich on Sourdough and a cup of. Poblano cheese soup. The soup was excellent and I didn't care for the chicken salad because it was on the sweeter tasting side. Dave had the brisket quesadilla and corn chips with salsa. His was delicious as was my soup. It's sad to see a town where hardly any businesses can survive. We thank Mary and Ruby for keeping us from starving lol! Good company and good food!
