They are great! I called when the opened and they were able to give me a same day appt! The technician, Nick, came the the beginning of my window. He was very helpful and empathetic. He stated he would have to check on parts, if it's repairable and that they would be in contact. Edward then called that same day and explained the situation with my fridge. It was basically a lemon (only 2 years old) and would not be repairable. My Kenmore Elite gas dryer would run, but wouldn't heat. I consulted YouTube University for things to check out. A problem with YouTube appliance repair videos however is that you have to get lucky to find one that has the same/similar make and model as yours; YouTube correctly predicted that the problem was probably one of the thermal or breaker switches, however I couldn't find a video to show me their location. So, I made a call to 858Appliance. My first inclination was to call one of the "big guys," but I've felt ripped off by them in the past. 858 seemed to have good Yelp scores, so I gave them the nod. The scheduler said he could get someone out right away, but recommended waiting a day for his Dryer expert. Since it wasn't an emergency, I agreed and Igor came out, right on time, the next day. He took one look at the dryer, removed a small circular side panel, reached in and toggled a switch, and voila!, dryer worked. He was only going to charge me the (very reasonable) $39 visit fee, but I know these things don't "fix themselves," therefore I asked him if he could go ahead and replace the switch, so I wouldn't have to call him back if it tripped again. It was a big job, as he had to remove the dryer drum, but clearly Igor's done this a bunch of times, and so it went fast. Igor was even nice enough to let me interrupt him part way through, so I could vacuum out all the dryer lint that escaped into the dryer housing. And in the end, it was all done for what I consider a very, very reasonable price. Finally, Igor left me with good advice for maintaining my dryer, and washer; from him arriving and leaving, I think it was done within an hour. An unexpected pleasant experience, something that is not usually associated with appliance repair! I definitely recommend 858Appliance. read more

I'm compelled to write a review after dealing with this company. Long story short... My gas dryer stopped producing heat, but was turning on and was spinning. I called to make an appointment with Ed. He was very friendly and scheduled me an appointment in a few days. During my appointment conversation, he advised me that there will be a $39 service call fee. When the repairman named K came in the scheduled window time, he took my dryer apart. Initially, he told me $220 out the door for the repair. A few minutes later he came back and told me that it would be more expensive and it's not worth fixing because it will break in the future. He told he didn't want me to waste my money and it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a new dryer. On top of that, he didn't even charge me the $39 service call. They didn't get any business from me today, but they will in the future if/when one of my appliances needs repairs. I love to see an honest company with honest people like this one! read more

HORRIBLE customer service! The owner instructed me they would arrive today between 1pm-4pm. It is now 4pm and they never showed up and I have to leave. I wasted my entire day and my only day off this week waiting at my apartment for them. The owner did not apologize and was extremely rude and hostile. I cannot say enough good things about this company and the service they provided. Our refrigerator stopped cooling and after calling them in the morning they were able to come out and fix it the same day. Our technician, Nick, was very professional and helpful. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and explain to us in detail not only why our refrigerator wasn't cooling but provided us with the information needed to keep it from happening again. Called 858 and the owner Eddie got back to me within 5mins and had a repair guy out to my house the next day and it was Memorial Day weekend. The repair man K was amazing. He figured out the problem and he tried to order the part but due this Covid-19 the part was out of stock. So he came back a few days later and tore it apart and repaired it himself. He even gave me a guaranteed 30day warranty on his work. This company is amazing and we got quoted a price for repairs but since the part wasn't in stock, K repaired it and charged me only half the cost of anything! We paid $350 for a new pump for our washer. There was an error code before the repair, the same code showed after the repair. Arthur, the technician, claims he didn't know there was an error code at all. Said he would send pictures of the old pump and never did.
