Background: Spent ~$1400 on two pairs of retrofits (Fit and RSX) in November 2023 - after being promised that the items would ship by first week of January, that quickly became February (Fit) and April (RSX) of 2024 by the time I received the lights. I didn't mind the long lead time, since I was waiting on other things to be done on the car anyways, however when I received the lights, the Fit ones seemed perfect, but the RSX ones ended up being incorrectly configured (no panamera halo) - I kinda shrugged it aside since that was not an additional charge option anyways. Fast forward 3 months (June 2024): The passenger side headlight on the Fit starts peeling/flaking - I send 818 a DM on Facebook, I wait about a week and no response, so I send an email - no response after 3 days. So I go ahead and make a post about my issue with the headlights on the Honda Fit groups on Facebook, immediately after I get a response from Kevin saying that the flaking is not his fault, but rather the fault of the housing supplier - Cool. Definitely not the response a customer would want to hear after spending a serious chunk of money. Total customer service disaster ensues as other members chime in with similar concerns with their headlights from 818 Retrofits. Kevin (owner of 818 Retrofits) starts blaming the individuals and myself for attacking and defaming his business. Buyer beware. This company does not stand behind their products and will do everything in their power to make the customer feel like the problem rather than simply fix their faulty products. If this was a BBB accredited business I would definitely be filing a complaint, but since it isn't, I hope this review will protect future potential buyers from making the same mistake I did. Edit: The owner has responded saying he was offering a remedy, but that remedy came with a lot of strings attached. Which included deleting all negative reviews and posts. I feel like this is unethical. It is also not guaranteed that the remedy will last me more than three months as nothing has changed in the quality.

Awesome quality and got everything I wanted. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to change up their vehicle.

Kevin came out and installed our newly upgraded lights... yes he did the upgrade. Thank you Kevin! Would definitely recommend 818 Retrofits and Kevin!

    Yellow foglight LEDs as well.

Kevin from 818 Retrofits is the best. Super nice guy and a car enthusiast who definitely knows his stuff. He repaired and upgraded some headlights I brought in for my car. They do great work here, easy 5 stars from me.

Full Disclaimer: 818 Retrofits did not build my headlights, nor was my issue on the inside of the housing. I have a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 with aftermarket headlights built by someone else. Recently I've encountered my driver-side headlight going out on bumps and my halo flickering/shorting out. I've taken my car to multiple people; I had suggestions from bad ballast to faulty wiring. Unfortunately, the shop's solution was to replace the entire unit. After searching the local shops, I finally found 818 Retrofits. I called Kevin, who was pleasant, but knowing that no one likes fixing other people's work, Kevin took me on as a client. However, with Kevin, I can instantly tell he had his wheels turning and knew it was something fixable. On the day of my appointment, Kevin jumped right in and started diagnosing my issue. He knew within a few minutes that it was the stock harness for my headlight issue. To his knowledge, Kevin said this was due to my previous aftermarket HIDs melting the inside to cause a poor connection. He cut and replaced the socket in under a minute, and my headlight worked as intended. The halo was a bit more time-consuming, but Kevin was relentless and was able to fix it. After everything was up and running, Kevin suggested seeing if my headlight were aligned correctly, which I never thought to check. Kevin aligned them to the correct height and clocked my bulb because it was seated in the housing incorrectly. I also didn't know this. I was in disbelief that I was missing that much visibility with my alignment. Again, Kevin did everything in a little over an hour. Kevin is patient, knowledgeable, and polite. He not only cares about his quality of work but the overall safety of his clients. Call him if you have issues or need an upgrade to your headlights. You won't be disappointed. Suppose you're reading this, Kevin. Thank you. I appreciate your time caring for me and my vehicle, and I'll be coming back for your LED kit!

Went to see Kevin about some RGB DRLs that another shop had installed but wasn't wired and working correctly. Kevin went above and beyond to help me out and this being in the rain. Was astonished at what he completed in 1.5 hrs what the other shop couldn't do in 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend 818 Retrofits for anyone looking for upgrading their lights to their vehicle. Thank You Kevin. Until the next project.

Halos, fogs, bumper all installed with perfection !

I was wondering how much it would cost to have an HID retro fit on a 2012 Honda Accord? Currently it has the original halogen light. How much for part and installation?

Hello! I was wondering how much it would cost for an HID retrofit on my 2020 Altima. It currently has an Amazon pair of LEDs that aren't as bright anymore. Let me know?

Hello, It would be $250 installed.

My headlights went out on my 09 Bmw, I went to the dealership and they want to charge me $6000 for them to fix the issue. It wasn't the ballast nor the bulb itself for I just changed them. Would you guys be able to help with this issue?

I requested a brake inspection, which was really quick, turned out I had to get my rear brakes changed. They offered to do it the same day for a very reasonable price and less than 3 hours later, my car was ready. Joe has worked on my car for small items like brakes and oil changes all the way up to getting some check engine light issues fixed. Pricing is always great. Brought my car here for a diagnostic thinking the issue was one thing only to find out "no, you don't need that," and saved me a bunch of money I would have likely spent elsewhere. He didn't push me to fix anything that didn't need fixing and pointed out a few things that were old that I might want replaced so I just took all his suggestions because it's a very old car and it needed some extra care. All the five star reviews are well deserved!! Highly recommended.

I am disappointed with this shop. I went after seeing good reviews.Although, I like the customer…read moreservice from owner and the technician. I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill. The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

we had noticed that your spark plugs were fouled and one coil was not firing. the spark plugs were not even a year old. they were replaced at the same time as the fuel pump. we also noted the compression was normal. once again i brought up the excessive smoking. again you, said "it only happens after it sits and quickly goes away". when did you 'once again bring up excessive smoke?at this point we had no reason to think you were being dishonest. because i'm not. i explained it could be that the leaking injector were washing the rings, causing the excessive smoke. so we fixed the injectors with your approval. yes. once again, the shop was filled with smoke. i have no idea why. i called you down to the shop, since your version of the smoking did not make any sense.i called several times in a week to get answers and was finally told over the phone that it was the injectors and if i replace them it will "run like a brand new car... when i got back from my trip, i again had trouble getting answers and was told to come in... showing up, i did not in the least bit recognize the amount of unfettered smoke coming out of the tail pipe of my car in my life before this day. i was told the car's oil was emptied and replaced with a "thicker oil".. even though i had just had an oil change with added lucas oil stop leak before bringing it in. after showing you the smoke, you pulled the classic "it wasn't doing that before" it wasn't. now i knew you were lying. i told you i would install your old injectors and you could take the car. before re-installing the plugs i noticed liquid in # 3 cylinder. we blew it out, and we were able to watch the cylinder fill up. i also noticed that the fluid had an orange tint. i didn't care about paying for the injectors and i was telling the truth. new injectors stayed in by the way. cont'd in photo:

I've been bringing my vehicles to Ray since the early 2000s, and he has consistently proven himself to be honest, knowledgeable, and someone I can completely trust. I drive a 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport, and now that I'm past the factory warranty, it is incredibly important for me to know I have a mechanic who will give me accurate information and fair pricing--without taking advantage of the situation. Ray has always done exactly that. Over the past few months, I've had a few issues arise. When my car overheated and was losing coolant, Ray quickly diagnosed a leaking hose and repaired it the very same day, getting me safely back on the road at a fair price. Another time, when the check engine light came on, he identified that it was simply the battery and replaced it efficiently. What I appreciate most is his honesty. Just yesterday, my check engine light came on again, and after running diagnostics, Ray explained that the system was detecting vapor from the refueling area and that I likely just needed to tighten my gas cap. He could have easily charged me for unnecessary work, but instead, he gave me the correct guidance--and didn't charge me a thing. He has even helped me with small things, like replacing the battery in my key fob, at no cost. Ray is the kind of mechanic everyone hopes to find--skilled, fair, honest, and genuinely committed to taking care of his customers. When you leave his shop, you feel confident and secure knowing your vehicle was serviced correctly. In Los Angeles, the driving capital of the world, there isn't a shortage of mechanics and body shops but not all are created equally. JoJo's Auto Body is top notch! My dad has been a client of Manar and JoJo's Auto Body for various projects and of course recommended him highly. My dad is of a certain generation where nothing less than perfection is acceptable, so I knew he'd done his due diligence. JoJo's had done some significant work on two of my parents' cars. Of course, then, I contact Manar. Unfortunately, parked right in front of our home, my driver's side view mirror was clipped by a passing car that had drifted. I happened to be inside the car and the car drifted right, hit the mirror and sped off. Immediately after, I contacted Manar. We scheduled an intake. He was punctual, professional, and transparent about options and cost. He provided me with the necessary information and I felt absolutely no pressure to make a decision immediately. He had one of his technicians tape up the remnants of the rear view mirror to cover it while we decided. A few weeks passed and we decided to have the entire mirror replaced. We asked Manar to let us know when the mirror would arrive and we could just come in and have it taken care of quickly. He contacted me on a Monday to say the mirror replacement was at the shop. We scheduled a time for me to take the car on Wednesday and within 35 minutes of arriving the work was done. In addition to his professionalism, quality of work, and honesty, Jojo's is a well managed and kept body shop. I mean no one really wants to sit around a body shop but if ever you need to, JoJo's is immaculate. There is plenty of parking, clear signage, and a welcome reception and office manager. Each visit I was asked if I needed anything to drink, including water or coffee. I called and spoke with Steve about looking at my car after another shop had worked on it, and he basically told me they didn't want to touch it because another shop already did the work. His reasoning was that he didn't want me to "get upset at them too." That makes absolutely no sense. As a customer, I'm simply looking for a professional second opinion or proper correction if something wasn't done right. Refusing to even inspect the vehicle just because another shop previously worked on it feels unprofessional and dismissive. Cars get worked on by multiple shops all the time -- that's normal. Turning someone away out of fear of a bad review instead of standing behind your own skills says a lot. Very disappointing customer service. I expected more professionalism and confidence from a shop with such high ratings.
