What a waste of a lunch break. I had an hour lunch break, but I didn't get my food until I was asking for a refund to leave because I had no time left. The staff insisted that this wasn't a fast-food place and that their 50-minute ticket time was acceptable. I arrived at 12:30 PM and left at 1:20 PM without eating lunch. I wouldn't recommend this place. The staff was completely unprofessional, and the food portions were disproportionate to the price. Do not eat here. I repeat, do not eat here. Overall cleanliness was at a low and the staff's behavior was totally unacceptable... "We located the receipt for your order. Our records show you waited 20 minutes, and there were 10 orders ahead of you. We prepare orders in the sequence they're received. We maintain a clean restaurant and have nothing to hide. We issued a refund. We believe some of your statements are untrue." Wow, Angie D., you're being incredibly dishonest. I believe you were present when you and your staff were incredibly disrespectful about your late ticket times. It's not surprising that you're now trying to downplay the truth and lie to cover up your inappropriate behavior. How about some accountability? "We located the receipt for your order. Our records show you waited 20 minutes, and there were 10 orders ahead of you." That's an absolute lie. I literally had only two gentlemen who were before me on their lunch break before they were served after it took 10 minutes plus to make their food and watch them consume their meals in their entirety and sit and have extended conversation afterwards until I decided to get up and leave. I can't believe the lack of accountability. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years, and I completely missed my entire lunch break. What would I gain from fabricating this story? I'm simply informing people about what to expect and how you treat your guests. As I mentioned, I observed several people who ordered after me being served before me, while people around me finished their meals while I sat and waited in vain. When you begrudgingly gave me my refund, you glared at me and acted completely disregarding my time. Then, you yelled that I should go to McDonald's after I had waited my entire lunch break in your store, showing absolutely no remorse. So I ask you now whose statements are really untrue. read more

Ordered teriyaki beef. Meat was chewy...add a little baking soda to beef to tenderize it. Rice a little sticky for me...locals like their sticky rice. Lumpia was good. read more

This was quite the gem. My dad had been talking about wanting Hawaiian food and I found this place on yelp. The person taking our order was super sweet and even reopened the dining section when we mentioned we had hoped to dine in. It wasn't closing time but it was getting close and they had already turned the lights off. Loved the homey feel and decorations of the dining room. The food was also very good and great portions. They checked in on us while we were dining and didn't rush us out which we appreciated since eating here was much better than taking things back to a hotel room. We had the loco moco, the ahi tuna and the poke nachos. All were fantastic and we mostly finished everything. read more

Got their pineapple upside down cake, pretty small pieces compared to what they advertised... but it is what it is I suppose. Hubby said it was a ok/decent cake. Pretty moist. We will have to try their hot food one day, and give a rating off of that also. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I am Hawaiian, and this place is ONO. I wish I could have the first bite of food all over again. It's made from the soul, and you can tell when you eat it. Hawaiian food is Hawaiian food. It doesn't need jazz, it needs aloha. And this food is cooked with aloha. Aunty Angie and Uncle Phil are bringing the aloha to Oregon. Food: loco moco = ono. Two patties, two eggs, gravy all over. Mac salad = perfect Hawaiian style Pork adobo = YES Aloha plate = Friday special that was heaven! Laulau, chicken long rice, kalua pig, poke, rice, and coconut cake. Bring your appetite cos they load it up! Spicy ahi poke and shoyu ahi poke = yess. Perfectly made and ono. Teri chicken = the sauce on it is home made and delicious!! I can't wait to get back for more. Our next trip will definitely include a stop here. Mahalo plenty! read more

This place is amazing. Foods super authentic and delicious. Service is off the chain; friendly and family oriented staff and atmosphere. The Kahlúa Pork is my favourite, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Lau lau, musubi, teriyaki, etc. Throw a dart at the menu, and you won't be disappointed. read more

This is the BEST Hawaiian food. Just like home. Every Friday they have Lau Lau combo plate. Comes with Kalua pork, 2 scoops of rice (btw cooked perfectly), mac salad, poke (yum so fresh) and dessert. My 'go to' place on Fridays. read more

My friend suggested we go here... I was like well I really don't like Hawaiian food that much unless I'm in Hawaii! But I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! This place was absolutely amazing. I got the chicken and it was absolutely fabulous! The veggie mix it came with. It was really super good, not just your ordinary carrots and zucchini or whatever bland veggies are cheapest at the market that day. These guys went over the top to give a high-quality healthy and delicious meal! Can't wait to go back!! read more

Food was awesome. Great taste great portions. Customer service was a 10. Thank you Anthony from Costco for recommending the place to us

Traveling through the area on a business trip with a colleague and this restaurant was recommended to us. TOTALLY worth the stop! Food was great and served quickly, The restaurant isn't very big and it looked like it got quite busy during the lunch rush, but they did have seating outside and it appeared they also had a lot of take away business. If they were closer, they would, for sure, become a regular stop. read more

We were just passing through town and looking for a tasty but casual bite. Saw the good reviews here and thank goodness we did. The food was delicious (Kalua pork was juicy and flavorful and the Teriyaki chicken had the most delicious not-too-sweet sauce) but what makes this place extra special are the people. Mama Angie was welcoming and kind and 100% right about how good her food is. A legit taste of Kauai tucked away in Oregon. Make the stop- you'll be glad you did. read more

Besides how awesome the owner was, I would still rank it #1 favorite Hawaiian restaurant... great flavors, fresh, and good value for the large portions / they don't skimp on the proteins and an appetizer could easily be a meal. Also cool merch. The owner and service was so amazing. read more

Really good food! We had the chicken teriyaki - plenty of sauce and big portions- along with big aloha customer service!

The service was friendly. Clean seating area. I had the Kalua Pork meal, my husband had the Teriyaki Beef. The food was delicious, but nothing any different than any other Hawaiian restaurant in GP. Although, most of the Kalua Pork I have eaten was always way too salty, this one not salty at all. The one item that stood out for me was the Poke! We had the Spicy Poke, which I would recommend that everyone try! I wish that instead off all restaurants making the same foods, that they would take a risk to be above the rest and add some Hawaiian cuisine that is different and unique to their restaurant. Jazz it up a bit! read more

We stopped here on our way to the coast and got some poke bowls. I gotta say 10/10 huge fan, the tuna was so fresh and soft like butter nice big chunks too not that tiny diced cubes. I'm also a huge fan of the simplicity meat rice sauce we will 100% be stopping by from now on. read more

Staff was friendly, clean space, and the food was good. I got the teriyaki chicken. It was just a tad overcooked so it was tough. Mac salad was good but a little unflavorful. read more

If you want authentic Hawaiian food, don't go anywhere else. The specials daily change, the menu is awesome Teri chicken or beef or get it half-half. We lived Hawaii for 18 years. This is as authentic as if we were sitting near the water having our meal in Hawaii on the Big Island. Aunty with her lovely smile who cooks with husband, and Miche, (niche) with her aloha greeting as you come in. The menu has so much to offer. Take a lunch break and have a truly Hawaiian meal. The restaurant has all the ambience of local art. read more

Don't let the one star reviews fool you ;) I usually get the spam musubi or the Teri-chicken(I definitely will be branching out to their other menu items, this has just been my hyperfixation) and every time I get my food, I feel welcomed, the family works hard when they're busy, and the food is always warm and delicious. I recommend this place to friends and family that happen to be driving through grants pass because it's that good and anything to support a family run shop I will happily do to keep them running, never stop being awesome read more

After reading previous reviews , we decided to try this for our one night in Grants Pass. The servers were friendly and the portion was huge . We ordered the teriyaki beef ... wish they did not pour the sauce over the meat , which made it very salty and hardly teriyaki . The other dish was combo Kalua pork and teriyaki chicken. Much better but also extremely salty. Go for the teriyaki chicken without sauce if you order from Obana . The macaroni salad was unlike other Hawaiian versions. You decide if you like it . In fairness, we don't use a lot of salt in our food hence we found all the Obana dish too salty . Maybe you won't . We ate outside which was very pleasant . read more

Mad love for the ohana over here at 808.. For anyone who's ever fallen in love with hawaiin culture and food, I'm sure it's a shared experience of cautious optimism when approaching a new 808 style restaurant. It's many things that hit home for me, but to say it in order, it's the food, the vibe, and the ohana. Without those things, there is no Aloha in the kitchen. And to be perfectly honest most of the hawaiian kitchens on the mainland are subpar at best. What a surprise I was in for.. walking in to an upbeat vibe... check... Hawaiians in the kitchen... check... Auntie talking story at the register with the customers... check.. looking around I spot the chili pepper water... checkmate... wow... Poke two ways, Kalia pork plate, Lau Lau on the side, and pineapple upside-down cake.. please.. just thinking about it gets me hungry... When I was all Pau, I was sad to be leaving.. well done guys.. aloha read more
