My wife and I couldn't be more happy with the final product. The two floor installers were friendly and professional. They explained everything that they were going to do and how they were going to do it. Parts of our house are 100 years old, so some parts of the floor had to be leveled out before the new flooring could be installed. The Los Angeles Design Center is comprised of many high end stores who sell top of the line designer products. In fact you have to be an Interior Designer to purchase anything there The Santa Barbara Design Center owner is not customer oriented. Six years ago we had their designer come out to our house and she picked out a sofa and pillows for us. She miscalculated which side the size of the room and also cutom made over sized pillows - which to this day we cannot use to sit comfortably! We recently went to the store only to find out from the owner that our sofa and pillows were worthless! We wanted to have our old family room sofa reupholstered but only to find out that it would cost as much as if you were to buy a new one. The biggest disappointment was when he bragged about changing our over sized pillows ,that their designer made for us, for the right size for $100. When my husband went to drop them off he increased the price by another $100 to the inserts! This was totally misleading! So now we were looking at $200/ pillow to correct their designer's mistake. Bottom line is that we have a very high end home in Santa Barbara and the pillows on our living room sofa are $1,500 each. The reason I am writing this review is to let people know that they should not be fooled by this furniture place

They sell nice rugs, but also other home decor, sometimes clothes, cool jewelry. They also have items on sale in front of the store. You might find a cool gem. Prices vary, customer service is decent, although last time I was browsing, one of the employees was blowing away leaves with a machine, which made it annoying to browse and shop. Now, 20 years later, my two sons are grown, so it is just my husband (with two dogs and two cats) who slouches, eats and watches television on our beautiful yet practical microfiber sectional. It has held up remarkably well over time and I was so pleased to find out that our cats preferred their scratch pads to this fabric. Recently I looked up Jan's design studio, as a classmate and I had been discussing sofas and where to get one around here. I was so pleased to see that she is still in Carpinteria! Yay! They also built a retaining wall at the back of a property that was having continual mudslides for decades, directly into a neighboring school. The kids working here are awesome.... but, the management is absolutely terrible now. Random pricing on mostly unmarked trees. Two different managers quoted me $330 and then another quoted $350 on the same tree! It was a mess. I cannot tell you how sad it made us. This has been a Christmas tradition that ended this year. The happy local, neighborly, family feel is gone. Were are going to Costco, or anywhere else, for acceptable prices. Nobody can afford an 8 foot tree for $350.

No other place in town has this selection. They are also first-responder allies, which is a huge plus. Available services include delivery, set up, trimming, and removal/disposal once the season is over. Most importantly, we needed to exchange a tree one year, and Ed helped us out with no problem. He always ensures his customers are satisfied. You can't put a price on that. We'll be back every Christmas season.
