I had ~30 custom hats made across 2 hat styles, and was deciding between embroidery or heat transfer of what turned out to be a heavily detailed design. He was honest but thoughtful in discussing design constraints, which ultimately led me to being totally blown away by the quality of the final product. It was clear Aaron took the time to have attention to detail to ensure the design and color choice of the heat transfer background would align as best as possible across both hat styles. I am not one to really give poor reviews of business, but I must really say there were a few things that really irked me about my experience. I called them, as a favor for my boss, who wanted to have a Christmas Stocking Embroidered. They are in the SB axxess book, so I was stoked that I could get a 20% off discount on the service. I called, told them I had the axxess card, and they said great, come on by!. So I did. I brought a similar stocking that had already been embroidered and asked if they could match it as closely as possible to the sample I had (as they all needed to match and they had 3 other stockings embroidered already). Apparently, finding something similar was really challenging. Not being an expert on embroidery, I asked her to just do the best she could to match colors and fonts and she replied "I can't find the exact same font". Which is fine, it didn't need to be exactly the same, just similar. The same with the threads. Granted I was a in a hurry as I only had 30 minutes to get this particular errand done, but I just was not anticipating it being so challenging. They were great about getting it done quickly, but when I went to pick up the stocking, the thread was way too light (I'm just hoping my boss doesn't mind that it's clearly not matching) and I was not given the axxess discount, even though I had mentioned it to the woman I spoke with twice. This would not be a big deal for me usually, but the fact that I asked them if they could just change the invoice and for some reason could not, was strange to me. Then, when they went to charge my card the machine wasn't working! I was happy to wait, but she instead asked if they could write my credit card information down and charge it later....NO (there are several reasons why this bothered me, working retail, I am pretty understanding about these kinds of situations, but I know that writing down a customer's CC information is a HUGE no no). I told her they could call me when the machine was working again, and I would read my card number to her. She called to process my card, so I gave her my number over the phone and asked if the transaction went through...She said "oh no, I'm going to run it later". SERIOUSLY!?! I explained to her that the whole reason I did not want to give her my CC info in the first place was because I didn't want them to write it down, and that if she could please process the transaction while I was on the phone, I would greatly appreciate it. So I still have a 20% discount there, but most likely won't be returning...which is unfortunate, because this is one of the only places in SB that offers these services... Side note: At the end of the day, I suppose I got what needed to be done, done. Not the best customer service, but there is a very cute dog who comes to work everyday who is very sweet, and it's a local business, so hopefully you other yelpers have a better experience here...definitely would recommend for other businesses in town to have their logos embroidered. read more
