He did a great job, was very nice, and the price was perfect. He made a new customer and I'll refer him to anyone. Review update: Jay came out and replaced the coil overs and rear brakes on my car. He didn't finish and said he would be back. A month ago. A month of me calling and texting with no response. Meanwhile I have front coil overs that were never adjust properly and a loud clunk from one of them. I would assume at this point he is just ghosting next because he doesn't want to finish the job that I paid him for. Unless I hear back from him with a good explanation of why he couldn't use the phone for a month, I'll leave this review up as a warning for others. Second update: Miraculously the day after I posted the previous update, Jay contacted me. The months worth of text messages and calls weren't enough I guess. He said he was sick and would let me know when he would be able to come by. It's coming up on a month since that message and still no contact from him. Not even after I asked if he couldn't finish the work to just tell me. It's a shame that it got to this point, he seemed reputable at first. But now I'm stuck with a half assed job that I need to take somewhere else to get finished. NO NO NO! DO NOT USE THIS GUY! Oscar made my appointment for 4:30 one afternoon. He showed up at…read more6pm. Got upset that my garage didn't have adequate lighting and he would have to use his own portable lights. He diagnosed my coolant was leaking and my thermostat and thermostat housing had to be replaced and coolant added. He let me know he doesn't like to talk while working so I said no problem. During the work he said something and I answered. He was then RUDE and said he didn't want to talk. I informed him I was just answering his remark. I paid him $350 for the work done. Even though he had been rude, I was considering using him again. Then, my car, 5 weeks later, started exhibiting the same symptoms as before he worked on it. I contacted Oscar, we made an appointment for the next day. No call no show. I then took the car to a qualified auto repair center and will now be paying over $600 to replace the thermostat, replace the thermostat housing that he cracked and add more coolant. They have worked on all 3 of my families vehicles. They have addressed and fixed all issues. When we had a disagreement or misunderstanding they remained calm, answered my questions, and explained it to me in a way I could understand. The mechanic, Willie, was rude and appeared frustrated, tried to pressure me about brakes I didn't request, and repeatedly called me approximately four times back-to-back, even texting me while I was still at the shop -- luckily, I keep unknown callers on silent. They put the wrong oil (5W20 instead of the required 0W20, which is stamped on my oil cap) into my car without asking. I immediately called my usual mechanic, who confirmed that using the wrong viscosity can damage my engine. The oil filter was changed at the same time, meaning it now contains the wrong oil and should be replaced again, but the shop refused to do so. To make matters worse, the owner (I assume) tried to grab my receipt and nervously laughed when I took a picture documenting the mistake. They even left my car running with the windows down after the error was "corrected," creating a safety risk. This shop is careless, disrespectful, and clearly assumes women customers don't know anything about their cars. Women are fully capable of reading manufacturer recommendations and recognizing when something isn't right. I will never return and strongly caution others. I now have to closely monitor my vehicle to ensure it was corrected properly. Willie claimed he was "trying to help," but disregarding manufacturer recommendations is completely unacceptable. For the safety of both your vehicle and your sanity, I strongly advise going somewhere else.
