We hired these guys to help us move from Alta Shores in North Charleston to a home in West Ashley. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment, basically with a couch, large chair, a king size bed, a large mirror and a desk. We wanted to keep the time we needed them to a minimum, so we had everything essentially packed in large boxes besides the large furniture. The time starts when they leave their location, so if it takes a half hour for them especially long to get there, that's on your dime. These two showed up and we explained that we really just wanted the large stuff moved. They did a fine job of moving the couch, large chair etc. We were told later that it would be extra for each set of stairs that were at the location. We were also charged for the plastic wrap and such (which we expected, but just as a heads up in case you aren't aware). We offered the guys cold Vitamin Waters and tried to be especially considerate of the fact that this is hard labor and it was warm out (June in Charleston). The one guy who seemed to handle the schedule or run the business was often taking breaks answering calls on his cell phone that seem to be associated with the business, however, we are paying for his time and this happened fairly often. When we got to the house in West Ashley and got everything moved in, we found that the large mirror was broken. They wrote on the receipt that they would replace it. At the end, they told us we owed $300 (on top of the $199 we had already paid with the Living Social) and were over by about a half hour . My husband, who tends to be non-confrontational, paid with his credit card. To make a long story short, we have followed up and followed up and followed up for over a year, and the owner has not replaced the mirror despite always saying that they will. We should have not paid until they fixed the situation. When my husband called, the guy actually had the audacity to say, "come pick it up yourself, we're trying to run a business here," when the whole reason we hired the moving company is because we don't have a vehicle large enough to transport things like that mirror. Customer service - awful. If they break something, don't pay them until it gets fixed/replaced otherwise they won't replace it... after all, you've already paid and they "have a business to run." And don't be surprised when they show up 45 minutes later despite that mapquest says it should only take 15 minutes... after all, money obviously trumps being a respectable, honest company. I would never recommend them.

I have not had one single thing go right which cannot be coincidence. I have called there no less than 15 times with the promise of elevating issues. Everything from the original movers arriving too early and the truck wasn't available on time so we burned two hours but they promptly left after the four hour time.. The storage unit when we finally arrived in Charleston was exactly what they said my four bedroom house needed, but they had rented it the day before, so they moved me to a different property in Wamba Creek. My experience at that particular storage unit in Wambach Creek has been nothing. Short of ridiculous. From the front desk to Elijah, the Director of the actual facility, nobody communicates. I have been overcharged for insurance which I have addressed and it has not been fixed. They locked me out of my storage unit because they thought that I had Live animals being kept in there, which was not the case. They just followed me in and out as I was moving items. They are not conveniently open at all, for a business, where people need access, they are open from nine to 3 o'clock on weekdays. I had to take days off of work to accommodate their schedules because they had errors in their access card coding. At the end of the day, one month later, my 26 foot U-Haul truck is still sitting on their property which I do not have access to because they jammed the back even though I had a log on it and that is illegal. I was supposed to return it a month ago but I can't because they could not provide me with adequate storage. Space And then when they did they locked out my access card. The storage space was supposed to be free for the first month but I've been charged numerous times and gotten bills to pay for the next month. U-Haul is the worst logistics company I have ever dealt with and I sit here today as a brand new person in Charleston that has zero access to her clothing her furniture her medication everything I own is in that U-Haul truck or in that storage unit. Do you think anybody ever calls me back? The answer would be no I asked for this to be elevated every single time and not once has anyone called me. Do not use U-Haul for anything, you might find a nice person here or there, but at the end of the day, my move to South Carolina has been an absolute disaster and cost me $10,000 and I still had to pay them which I paid upfront so they got their money and now have all of my items from my home my clothingmedication that was absolutely dire that I take every day, but no one cares over there. I rented a 20' truck and some moving blankets and a dolly. Staff helped me load it all up and got me on the road quickly. They were really friendly, and a great way to start an exhausting day.
