Yelp moderators, don't let people falsely flag my review to cover up the conduct of their horrible managers. I lived in 77 Hudson condo from February 2021 to February 2022, the building is NOT closed and FirstService Residential employs property manager Joseph Abadir and assistant property manager Dwayne Robinson. I have every right to warn prospective buyers and renters of 77 Hudson about what kind of treatment they can expect for these managers and all the water shuts they've had in the year that I lived in the building!
Two weeks into my lease, a women in the gym started screaming at me for wanting to use one of the 5 pairs of dumbbells(5,10,15,20 and 25) that she was monopolizing for over 45 minutes! The gym attendant didn't know what to do and the fitness center manager was on vacation so Issac the superintend was called. Every building has bad residents but this is an easy one. There are cameras in the gym so I found the rules that Dwayne sent me upon move in and sent him an email highlighting the 3 rules she was violating. He added Joseph Abadir and wrote," Good Morning Jason,
Yes, we have footage of the gym for both of the days in question. Yes, we are an Owner controlled Association.
As Joseph Abadir is the general manager he manages fines & violations. He will be returning to the building next week. And upon his return this will be addressed formally."
Two weeks elapse with no response from Joseph Abadir and the women was still monopolizing the weights so I replied, asking for them to fine the women. And that's when Joseph Abadir finally responded with: "Hi Jason,
I don't think I have met you before. Your tone and history is becoming more and more concerning, especially considering that we have a Fitness Manager located in the Gym who is there to help address any improper use of equipment on the spot. Why wouldn't you gently ask the Fitness Manager in the gym, if you are seeing something that you feel needs attention? Everyone is expected to show good gym etiquette in order to use the gym.
Please be aware, I heard we are getting numerous complaints about your behavior also, which I think is a result of your approach here, on a simple matter that the Fitness Manager can easily assist with.
Please stay calm when dealing with people at the property, and communicate to the correct person who can help you on the spot."
We never met but somehow my tone is a problem. No specifics on what behavior nor any rules that I've violated. And he says I need to stay calm when it's the woman violating the rules and calling the management on me. This is all in writing on email so I asked him for specifics on what lines in my emails did he object to my tone, what rules did I violate? He had no answer, he just kept deflecting back to that last line about the fitness manager can assist but his own assistant property manager Dwayne added him and wrote, "As Joseph Abadir is the general manager he manages fines & violations."
I sent the whole email chain to the Lupe M Mujica, Chief People Officer of FirstService Residential asking for Joseph Abadir to be removed from 77 Hudson as he clearly has some sort of personal bias against me, making up lies and not addressing my valid issues. She directed me to their local HR but nothing happened except this post getting a fake address and the fitness manager, Xavier resigned. Which is suspicious because nobody was asking for Xavier to leave.
At that point, I stopped using the gym but wasn't planning on moving out till another incident with Dwayne on November 30th. I was working from home when, at 10 am, the people next door started banging on the living room wall without any notice, they were building a closet. When I asked if they can provide notice to surrounding units of building work in the future, Dwayne dismissively and sarcastically replied, "Duly noted." Nothing on whether he can or cannot do this nor anything about following up with management or the board. Is Dwayne completely incompetent or is he mad because Joseph threw him under the bus for adding him on the earlier issue? Either way, you absolutely do not want to live in a community managed by these people. read more
