Mice droppings

1. Mice. I live on the 24th floor. I heard scratching in my kitchen and when I went to investigate the noise, a mouse jumped off of my kitchen counter and ran under the dishwasher. I then found droppings behind kitchen appliances and under my couch. When I went to inform my neighbors, they said they'd been dealing with mice for months. It took 4 days from the time I put in a request with maintenance for them to respond. And when the exterminator finally came, he just put traps next to the traps I already had. No effort was made to investigate or plug holes in the wall. 2. Stuck in the elevator. I was stuck in an elevator for 30 minutes with 3 other people and the emergency button didn't work. We kept pressing the call button but there was no answer. We had no idea if anyone was coming to help. Fortunately, one person among us eventually had 1 bar of cell service and dialed 911. When firefighters finally pulled us out after 30 minutes, they told us that when they arrived, no one was at the front desk. The firefighters actually suggested we complain to management, saying that we should not have been in there for more than 5 minutes. Afterwards, I went to speak with Vincent DeBlasio, the area manager, and he brushed the whole thing off like it wasn't a big deal and just a standard issue. 3. Broken elevators. There are 4 elevators for 40 floors, but it's common for one, two, or three to be out of service. We often have to wait long lines for an elevator --especially during rush hours. I'm on the 24th floor and have waited up to 40 minutes for an elevator to the lobby on workdays. People in wheelchairs or with strollers wait even longer since there usually isn't space for them when elevators finally reach their floors. 4. No hot water. I went to shower one night and there was no hot water. We received no advanced notice of this. When I went down to the desk, they said it would be fixed within 10 minutes. Days later, it still wasn't fixed, so despite still paying full rent, I was needing to shower at a friends apartment. 5. Unsafe dog run. My dog was injured by equipment in the dog run that wasn't safe for dogs. They had a bench which small holes. My dog jumped off the bench and it tore his nail straight through the nerve. I learned from other dog owners I the building that he wasn't the first dog this happened to. Again, when I spoke with Vincent DeBlasio about this, he dismissed it as not that big of a deal. I also asked Vincent how frequently the dog run was cleaned, since dogs kept getting gut infections after playing there. He told me he had no idea. 6. Charging for "prohibited" space. I pay $200-300 extra per month for a balcony. Between 10/3 and 11/19, management informed all tenants with balconies that we were "prohibited" from using them due to safety precautions during mandatory inspections. Yellow caution tape was put on my balcony during this time. When I asked for a rent concession for the 47 day period that I was prohibited from using my balcony, both Vincent and Reuben Kuchinsky, the community manager, told me that no rent concessions would be offered despite prohibited use of the space. 7. Pricey lockouts and bribes. A spare key fob costs $75, but if you lock yourself out during non-leasing hours, you'll be charged $175 to be let back into your unit. When I asked the leasing office for an extra key, Victor Aquino, one of the leasing agents, told me he would wave the charge if I wrote a positive Google review mentioning his name. 8. Lost packages. The package room is a disorganized mess, so it's common to be told a package cannot be found. I've also had packages given to me that weren't mine and I've had other tenants return packages to me that were given to them by mistake. 9. Dismissive/incompetent management. With all the issues I've had, Vincent DeBlasio and Reuben Kuchinsky have been consistently apathetic. Not once have I felt they appropriately addressed issues mentioned. All issues are treated like they're someone else's problem. Once you sign, management no longer cares about you as a tenant.

Mold

We have mold issue on the ceiling in our bathroom. That's why we needed to break lease contract. We have a child. I was worrying about my child health. I explained everything. But manager said that. If i break lease contract pay for 4months rent fee. I have to pay a penalty for any reason.

I strongly advise against considering the apartment at 425 Washington Blvd. During my visit to a friend's apartment there, I was appalled to witness water seeping through both the roof and floor, particularly in the middle of the night. Over the course of our stay, this issue occurred five times, and despite repeated requests to the management for repairs, they are still not able to resolve and have a casual attitude to our problem. Our friends have informed us that the new management seems focused on gathering more business rather than providing the essential services what the current residents are paying for. Given these circumstances, I am currently looking into housing options here in Jersey City and strongly advise against selecting this building for your relocation. I have decided not to move to 425 Washington Blvd, Jersey City 07310. I've included a few images to help convey the seriousness of our situation. I hope that future residents will grasp the extent of the issues we experienced.

Trash.. security is below poor. Do not feel safe in the building. Booked it for thru AirBnB and the front desk came banging on my door like the police because of my music. Why not call the phone? I didn't like that vibe, I didn't like the uncomfortable looks and glances that people were given as I move thru the building. Maybe because I was a new face or a look like a troublemaker but either way I felt like I was not welcomed. Never again!

I would give them a zero star if I could. But that's not even an option. I've never met a more unprofessional and dishonest team. So I contacted the leasing office and requested that I need a 20 month lease. They agreed for a 20 month lease at $5449. I canceled my appointments and leases pending with other units. I changed the selling date of house since they couldn't start the lease till Sep 12 as compared to Sep 1.I completed my application right away. However, upon contacting them again, they said that the price $6800 per month not $5449. So, in nutshell, I missed out on two other units and moved the selling date of my house based on the lease pricing that I got from them and within a matter of hours, they increased the price by $1400. Who would trust them if that's the experience even before living there. Victor is the manager and he told me that he will connect me his director to sort this out. And the phone has been on voicemail since then. Three less buildings to check out in Jersey City!

I never had a single issue while I lived there. There is a super, who resides inside the building, and he was always beyond helpful and did an amazing job. Those that oversee the additional upkeep also do an amazing job. It was truly a bittersweet moment ending this chapter of my life. I cannot recommend this building enough. It was a wonderful place to live and if you have the opportunity to live here too, you will know firsthand how fantastic a place it is to call home. During Covid, the building held the line on rents, zero during Covid and 5% when rents were going up 20% and more in Jersey City. This exemplifies how the building always prioritizes the needs of the tenants. Again, it is a truly amazing building in an extremely convenient and coveted part of Jersey City.

The building is the perfect combination of old world charm with all the modern amenities you need. We will truly miss Mercer Arms. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Windsor at Liberty House - Open Concept Floorplans

Windsor at Liberty House

I have been a resident here at Liberty House for, what would've been, 10 years, and it pains me to…read moreeven write this review...but, enough is enough. I received a lease renewal of over 18%, which I found absolutely insane not only due to the length of my tenancy, but to the fact that this increase was not, in any way, justifiable by current market trends. However, thanks to the help of Samantha, she was able to present me with a much lower renewal that was more realistic. I was ecstatic because Samantha was able to keep me in my budget so I can continue living in my home where so many beautiful memories and accomplishments have been made. Since I've been here for so long, I've seen MANY managers come and go, and Samantha has by far been the most helpful, most genuine, and most caring. However, Lordis MUST be held accountable for her consistent malicious actions and disgusting commentary. I had to write this review anonymously due to Lordis's proven track record of making any resident's living experience so miserable to the point where they are forced to move out if that resident speaks up on her behavior, and I refuse to allow her to do the same to me and my family. As I was waiting for the elevator after leaving the office to discuss my renewal (the elevator is right next to the office, by the way), I overheard Lordis say "Sam! Did they renew?" Samantha responded "yeah, I got them a better renewal offer." Lordis then responded (and I remember word for word because I was in such disbelief), "those kind of people are always looking for discounts but want to walk around thinking they're royalty like they don't stink up the whole hallway!" (For reference, I am from India and my husband is from Pakistan). There was a brief moment of silence, assuming everyone else in the office was in the same disbelief, then she continued while laughing and said "it's true! Right, Patrick? Tell me when you walk past any of those Indian apartments it doesn't stink!? Nobody wants to smell that curry all day. We could've let them give notice, sorry Sam." I pulled my phone out to begin recording, but the statements ended there since it was clear that Samantha and Patrick was not entertaining her foolishness. This was extremely hurtful and heartbreaking because I was so excited to go upstairs and let my husband know that we can renew our lease for our home that we loved SO much. But, within just 10-15 seconds, that excitement was shattered. My husband and I have given our notice to move out. How could we possibly continue to live in a place where with such a disgusting, evil, and malicious manager? 9 years. We're letting go of our home for the past 9 years. It would've been a MUCH better staffing decision by Windsor if Samantha was hired as the main manager, but instead, they decided to hire a monster. Going through previous reviews, I see there is someone from Windsor that responds. So I would like to state, since this will clearly be seen by someone higher, that my husband and I do not wish to rectify, speak about, or meet with ANYONE regarding this review as we would like to enjoy our last two months living here without being exposed to Lordis malicious and retaliatory behavior. However, just a word of advice, get rid of that monster before she causes this property to lose more residents and before she runs your business through the mud. As a resident, we always only see Samantha and/or Patrick running around and doing all of the work anyway, so there is clearly not a need for her. To anyone looking to potentially live here, it's a great property in a beautiful neighborhood. Samantha is a wonderful resident manager and Patrick is a sweet kid. But, if you come tour, ask of Lordis is still the manager. If the answer is yes....RUN!!! Do not move here until this monster is replaced.

Do not rent here if you have even one other option. The building management company at Windsor at Liberty house is unresponsive, impossible to reach, and deeply apathetic towards the people who live in the building. When there is an issue, they are not present, available, or helpful, regardless of the severity of the situation. For emergencies, they will route you to the maintenance team, the leasing office, or a call center. There is no direct email address or phone number to contact Windsor Communities or the management team for 100 Dudley Street. In the event you do make contact with them, they will not help, or assist you in addressing whatever issue may have arisen. The "management" provided by Windsor Communities is either (A) non-existent, or (B) actively harmful. A short list of issues we encountered in our 1 year tenure in this building: (1) the fire alarms are repeatedly faulty (usually going off late at night); (2) the parking garage in the south building does not reliably shut/lock, and is constantly breaking down, risking vehicle theft and damage; (3) several of the key elevators used by residents are regularly broken/out of use for maintenance; (4) there is no secure package system. Packages are routinely left outside the building, inside the front entrance, in the common area at the 100 Dudley entrance, or otherwise unsecured; (5) the management team has routinely completely disregarded communications regarding ordinary course payment disputes; (6) we were charged amenity fees for a gym that was largely unavailable; (7) we were also routine double-charged and erroneously charged for parking; and (8) even though we were only here for one year, we had multiple significant appliances break and need whole-sale replacing (fridge/freezer and dishwasher). To be clear: some of the apartments themselves are nice, and the building maintenance staff are fast and responsive for true maintenance issues. Even the leasing office personnel try to be helpful (though candidly, they are rarely ever physically present or available by phone). However, none of that even slightly compensates for the complete failures of Windsor Communities to properly manage this building and attend to the welfare of its residents. Do. Not. Rent. Here.

We decided to move to another community nearby because $2,960 is too much for a studio with no amenities. Ironically, we found that they are now offering our exact apartment for $2,600 again. It's funny--why is Newport willing to lose money on a month of vacancy and a lower market price instead of just keeping an existing renter at the same rate? Nobody even asked us to stay; we would have stayed if they hadn't raised the rent.
