I requested oil to fill my tank today. Ran out of oil before truck arrived. After refill the driver departed because I didn't request a restart of my system when placing the order for a refill. I was unable to restart the oil burner, so I called to request a tech visit to restart my system and I was told someone will arrive today to restart my system. After several hours of waiting and its the coldest day in the last two years today, I called back to find the office was closed. I spent several hours troubleshooting the system and determined the oil spray nozzle was clogged. Had to visit Lowes for a replacement nozzle and thanks to Youtube I was able to replace the old one and restart the system. The tech never showed up! Being today is the coldest day in the last two years, they must be very overwhelmed and couldn't meet demand. They could at least inform the customer of this to avoid a bad review. read more

I can't thank 7 oil enough. These guys went above and beyond in one of the most stressful weeks of my life. I replaced my hot water heater 3 weeks ago, then my AC decided to go on one of the hottest days just 4 days before I had people flying in for my wedding. I got a consultation from Horizon and they quoted me $6700 for 2 parts and couldn't guarantee that the problem would be fixed, and that wasn't even the price for suggesting a whole new unit. I wanted a second opinion and called 7 Oil. Dave came out ON MEMORIAL DAY to diagnose my unit, and said he didn't agree with Horizon and wanted to start smaller to see if the problem could be solved (he also said his price for the same solution if he did it was ~1/3 the price). He had my best interest in mind and I couldn't be more appreciative since I had just dropped so much money weeks prior and my wedding was in a couple days. He ordered a couple parts, and was back out the next day. He worked in the scorching heat, but didn't leave until he knew my unit was fixed. He even texted me personally the next day to check in and make sure everything was still running properly. Again, I couldn't recommend these guys more. Great company from the top down, and they truly care about the customer and not just ripping people off for as much as they can. Used them for years... checked my bill, and found the price I was paying was significantly higher than ALL local competitors. They also pre charge all service fees and fuel purchases even if you have been a customer for 15 years... they have a way of making the customer feel like a liability and potential threat... We have used 7 Oil for oil delivery to our home for the last 10 years. We've tried others, including the guaranteed cap price plans, but it always ended up that we were always paying the cap price and never less. With 7 Oil you can set up auto delivery and also do a year long payment plan after a year where they estimate your usage and bill you monthly so it's not so expensive as a fill price all at once. We've come close to running out of oil quite a few times and when you order oil they always ask if you need a restart. I don't think they even charge for it. Great customer service, late hours, and tiered pricing based on how much oil you buy at one time. Definitely recommend. read more

This Company has caused me to close a bank account due to there "billing practices". They are in denial of $112.35 which was taken from an account WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION of card holder. Been with 7 Oil at least years but lately, I've been having problems with my oil heater. I purchased an new circuit board over $400 & it DIDN'T fix the problem. Since this past December, I've called them out for the SAME problem at least 5-6x and not one of the technicians have fixed my heater. How many processes of eliminations are there ? They come out look, wipe stuff off , see if there is any clogs & they leave & a week or two later my heater just shoots out cold air, once again. They obviously don't know what they're doing or just passing the buck. Extremely disappointed & very unhappy with 7 Oil. read more

I have been calling oil companies all day, as I need oil on an emergency basis. I left a message online for 7oil in hopes that I could get some oil delivered and pay for it in a week. Prices are so high. I have a son whose body has to be heat regulated or he can have seizures. I explained in detail what I was looking for so I was suprised when 7oil called me and left a voice-mail asking me to call back if I still need oil. When I called, the person who answered was different from the person who called me originally so she didn't know what the situation was. I asked the same question I asked online and she was really rude and just said no, cutting me off. I don't understand why they didn't just leave me a VM saying they can't bill or only accept cash on demand or even call back at all. It is embarrassing and humbling being in this situation and a little grace or kindness can go a long way, even if the answer is still no. read more

After setting up a service call a week in advance for the day i was off of work, a guy shows up takes a look and said that he didn't have time to do anything because his company "over-books" people. When i called for an explanation i was treated like it was my fault and told "its my responsibility to get it serviced every year, and i had all summer to get this done." They do not break appointments, they come on time, and they take care of your oil needs without having to be invasive. When they absolutely must break an appointment (such as in blizzard weather conditions), they call you well in advance and set up a new time. Horrible company. Called a lier by the office manager because I did not use as much oil as she thought I should have. Called for service twice and had to wait 1-2 days for service. I only have 2 kids sitting there freezing thats OK. It was only sub zero out. Only plus they have an AMAZING service tech. He was very helpful and nice. I had a horrific experience with the initial technician who came out to clean my furnace. He made me turn off my washing machine!!! He was intent to find some way of turning a cleaning into a problem, and he did ! In the 35 years I've had my furnace, I have NEVER, NEVER had to make a service call, only cleanings. He seemed like a "used car salesman" trying to get me to buy a new gas system or pad the bill. After 4 - 5 hours, he told me I had a $700. problem, and this and that had to be replaced. After speaking with his Supervisor, Mike, he spoke with the technician who supposedly rectified the problem. I was skeptical he had fixed what he broke, and sure enough less than two weeks later, I awoke to a dead furnace and my house at 54 degrees. I called Mike again, who was very apologetic and scheduled another technician--Scott. I cannot say enough about Scott. He took the time to explain what he was doing to correct the problem and answer any questions that I presented. It is rare to find a technician like Scott. It is apparent he loves his job with the emphasis he places on customer service. Thank you Mike and Scott ! 7Oil called me to explain their position (won't cross my bridge) and assured me they left a message that they wouldn't deliver to me. I never got the message, but I must say that it's refreshing to see a business concerned with a poor review and was told they would try to send a smaller truck without a full load of oil. In other words they are willing to try and help me out and that's all anyone can hope for in this world. Time will tell, but I'm impressed with their attitude and it is the key element in any successful business. The delivery guys are fast, friendly, and get the job done without making a mess, but the receptionists are rude, incompetent and lie to customers. Each time I called with a question or to set up a service or auto delivery they tell me different information-- all wrong. They need you to call back repeatedly, and they always say the computers are down. They tell you the week you are to get your next auto delivery, but the truck never comes. I should have gone with another company that owes you a free fill if you run out when signed up for auto delivery, because we are almost out and still no truck. After using other oil companies for years, I have been dealing with 7oil for about a decade now. Just today they came out once again, and since my heaters is a complicated old steam system, there is always something out of the ordinary. This time it was trying to get a part which is not proving to be easy but 7 Oil was very helpful, accommodating, and flexible with everything. Their service person was very nice and knowledgeable , and their office staff who we had to call was also thoughtful and fair. They still seem to do business the old fashion way ( a giant compliment), and I appreciate that. My husband and I just moved to South Jersey this month. We inherited an oil contract with 7 Oil via the previous owner. We tried running our heating last week, but nothing was working. I called 7 Oil, introduced myself as a new customer, and asked for assistance with the oil tank. I clarified that we had never used an oil tank before. I talked with Pat, who was very nice and informative (which is why the review isn't 1 star). We scheduled a service provider to come out and I was assured it would be free of cost, because they had come out to service and fill the tank just a few weeks ago before we moved in. My husband was home and informed me that the service provider showed him a switch on the tank, turned it on, and then charged us $109. I called asking for a refund, of course, because $109 to flip a switch is absurd. We could have done this ourselves had we known, which is why I made it clear over the phone that this was our first ever oil tank and asked for advice. I spoke with multiple reps, all of whom were firm on their stance that it was non-refundable due to the service fee charge for sending a tech out. While I understand this is their business model, we are first time customers and the tech only flipped a switch. I cancelled the previous owner's contract immediately, as we would like to find an oil company nearby who is more accommodating of first-time customers/tank users and charges fees reasonably. read more

I have been using 7 Oil for the past 20 years. My heater just stopped working after I got oil in December 2017. The technician came out said I needed a relay switch, so they installed it. Only 2 to 3 weeks later January 2018, the same situation happened the heater stopped so now its the nozzle. The nozzle was replaced if this happened 2 to 3 weeks later I can only think the relay switch was not the problem from the beginning. Here we are in April going on the 3rd week with the same problem. 7 Oil refused to come out to look at the same problem that which started in December 2017 that only they have been fixing without me paying $109.00 just to diagnose the problem. This is what you get for being a loyal customer. Bad business and customer service. They refused to give me the owner's name to make a valid complaint. Watch your receipts when you are not home and they deliver your oil they might not give the gallons you have already paid for. They shorted me one gallon of oil had I not looked at my receipt they would have never gave me credit or the oil. read more

I called 7 Oil because my radiator was leaking the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The person arrived at my house within two hours. He told me that the supply line to the radiator was corroded and would need to be replaced. He then asked if I would like the furnace to be turned off and the system drained in order to stop the leaks. He told me this would be the only way he could stop the leak. He quoted me a price of $165/ hour for the job to replace the supply line. I said I would call the company back on the Friday after Thanksgiving since we were traveling out of town. I called back on Friday and was told that someone would come out on Tuesday. I asked if they could come on Monday since it was getting colder. The service representative puts me on hold and when she gets back to talking to me she said that they could come to fix the problem on December 9th! I told her that that was too long to go without heat and that I would be looking for someone else to fix the issue. She didn't try to stop me or connect me with a supervisor. I am giving them two stars because I didn't ask to speak to a higher level supervisor to get them to fix the problem. I simply did not have the time to fight for them to come out to fix the problem sooner. I called another company today 12/1/15 and they are sending out a plumber tomorrow to fix the problem. I will never call 7 Oil again. read more
