I wanted some water and a couple of snacks to tide us over until we got onboard our ship. This walk didn't seem too far from the hotel, so off I went! There was a reason there were like NO PEOPLE anywhere. The winds were whipping and it was more than a wee bit chilly! I should have Uber-ed, I guess, but hoofing it in the wind, in the cold and what felt like up hill both ways, WHAT AN ADVENTURE! This store was laid out different from the CVS Box Stores in Dallas, but was able to find all I wanted. No two CVS stores seem to ever be the same. The water prices were significantly higher than Dallas and actually were not much different from what the hotel was selling them. At least I had a great cooling off power walk out of it! The other item that kind of took a bite out of me, was there is a Bag Fee in Boston. How absolutely ironic! The city that took on the King of England over fees and taxation has a "bag" fee. Poor Samuel Adams, I bet he is rolling in his grave! In his honor, I'm rebelling with taking down a star from this otherwise 5 star establishment. (But I'm giving it back as it sure isn't CVS' fault that the local taxing governments have forgotten their history!)

The guy there was always nice and friendly with me, he would recognize me immediately no matter what day of the week I went because I would go numerous times. With this in mind, on August 22, I have decided to bring my cousin there and my girlfriend for late night treats. The guy that was there was the one that always seen me visit the store since I was 16. (21 now) but instead of a "how you doing today man good to see you" I've gotten suspicious looks and bad vibes from the man who I would conversate with every time I would make a purchase. Me and my cousin decided to get big gulps. I got the biggest which was a Double gulp, probably like 2.74. My cousin thinking there wasnt any difference got the Double Gulp instead of the Big Gulp which was 99 cents. We go to check out, they ring him up and they told him the price. He was surprised, not knowing why the price wasn't like what he had expected. the cashier then told him in a bad way "cant you see it over there?" my cousin followed up by saying if he could just dump the drink from that cup to a big gulp cup instead. They were not having it, they we're both arguing over a $1 difference pretty much. I made my mind up and just payed on my card as I was aware there was a guy on the other cashier waiting for service. But all I could do was laugh the whole time because both the idea and my cousin were naturally funny to me. I payed the drinks and we waited outside while my girlfriend moved up to the cashier we had just finished leaving. After she finished, She told me something very interesting as to how these employees think of their customers, well first of all they did not think my girlfriend was coming with us. So a white customer decided to say "I almost payed for them to get those f**ks outta here" the guy that has seen me for almost 5 years decided to say "yeah we get ***h*les like that everyday" the cashier and him decided to talk in their native language about who knows what. But what shocked me the most was when I was told that a Racial slur was involved. It took every bone and tissue in my body to go back in there and confront the man without being violent. I made my mind up to go back in there and talk to the guy. I waited patiently for customers to leave, and I walked right in. I called him over and asked if I can talk to him for a few seconds. I then proceeded to tell him "When me and my cousin bought drinks and we left , I was told that Racial slurs and vulgar language was present, I do not understand why I should be disrespected when I put money in your pockets, I come here everyday..." He then looks at me with a sick look and says "go away, get out of here, I do not want to talk to you" all I could say to make the situation still seem passive was "all I wanted to do was talk" these days people just want you to get mad so they can just call the cops and take you away for good but this? I refuse to let it die down. I will not stop untill I get the right solution for this that will let me sleep at night. Because just when you thought visiting a store for a long period of time and having some sort of friendly insight with the workers All of that MEANS NOTHING. All they are good for is collecting your money. I have been green in the face with rage since yesterday night which was when it happened. I am just disappointed, and this makes me hesitate towards a 7/11.
