There's an older gas attendant who works there that is so rude to me everytime I am there. Almost rufuses to take my cash inside and gives me attitude when I tell him I have my littles in the car. I've never in my life have been spoken to this was by anyone who works customer service. I can tell you that everytime I go in I am nice because I have family that work as gas attendants and I know how not hard it is to pump gas. I go there quite often because I can literally throw a football at it from my house. They treat me decently and I actually kind of like the unique character they all have and bring to the establishment. I feel like I might get treated slightly better than the average joe, but only because I go there pretty often. I have seen better, but I like the place, and the gas doesn't come from BP, so I can't complain there.

I wonder what it is about gas mini marts' daily operations or hierarchy that make employees think they can treat people with something like indifference or barely disguised contempt. Many years ago I worked for a Chevron mini mart as a cashier and I was never encouraged to be kind, in fact, I was encouraged to not stick my neck out for any customer. This attitude was encouraged by my manager and either approved by or ignored by the store owner. True, there are some real sketchy characters that come in at all hours of the day and night (tweakers, drunks, street walkers, and troublemakers) but as someone who works for a mini mart you have to judge on a case by case basis and not just treat the whole world like crap. It's still a service industry and that means treating people decently, with respect, and yes, kindness.

The employee continued yelling and swearing at me while I was leaving, saying things like "Why the fuck were you taking a shit? This is an employee bathroom. Did you leave it nicer than you found it? Are you going to buy air freshener?" This was extremely unprofessional, aggressive, and unnecessary, especially considering the employee had unlocked the restroom and allowed me to use it in the first place. No customer should be treated like that. Management should seriously address this employee's behavior. If it isn't handled appropriately, I will consider taking further action regarding how this situation was handled.
