CALLING ALL PETTY SOULS!! Turns out if you have more than 15 items at the self check, the cashier gets dinged for each item over, that you ring in. As in they get into trouble if they allow you to get your extra item or 2. My bad for missing 1 item when I did a quick count. Grief! As to not get the cashier into trouble, I bought my 1 extra item on a separate ticket. NOW FOR THE PETTY PART... Each card transaction costs winco money. Please join me in ALWAYS running your card at least twice if not more when checking out at winco. No one should be getting into trouble because of an extra item or two!! Winco corporate has gone insane!!! They seem to forget that there are many, more pleasant stores to shop at. read more

I like Winco and have had no problems. Until now. My husband has been doing the shopping and I hadn't been to Winco in a few months. In that time I was surprised at how many of the products were now Winco brand rather than name brands. Bulk oatmeal had so much "fines" in it that after sifting with a colander there was about 3 cups of instant oatmeal rather than whole oats. Then looking for 36 oz of Adams peanut butter..no more only Winco brand which is made of hydrogenated oil!! Holy crap that stuff is awful for you!! One tiny jar only all the rest was hydrogenated junk! I prefer name brands as company brands are often inferior of quality and and sure is with Winco products. They do have a good deli and their meat quality is good, especially prices! I will still probably shop here but be looking for better prices on certain items else where! I expect long lines and crowds and try to shop when the crowds are less. read more

Overall, this is a good store. Only real complaints are they never have enough checkers and the produce at times is past its prime. But for staple items and a great bakery its's a good place to shop. read more

Horrible customer service. Rude and racist workers. Old produce and food stocked. All around awful store to shop at. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Hope it gets shut down soon. read more

WinCo Foods - WinCo Foods - Grocery Near Me - Salem, Oregon

Has many options in most items, however, often not enough checkers. Takes a long time to get checked out due to this

What can I say about Winco foods that hasn't already been said? Well, this is a 3 star joint. Stars lost for the riff raff. Stars back for the beer selection. Stars lost for dirt. Stars gained for having edible ahi. Stars lost for debit only. Stars gained for being relatively close to the house. Stars lost for the Walmart crowd. Stars lost for poor bread selection. Stars gained for prices. read more

I love winco. However what I saw today was a bit disturbing. I saw a stocker who was restocking celery proceed to use his foot to try to push in the box of celery into the shelf. When that did not work her then decided to throw the celery directly onto the ground. I tried calling but no one picked up and it seems this is the case for this winco. read more

I like this Winco. It's always clean and the employees are kind and helpful. I usually don't have to wait to long in line either. The prices here are great and the selection is usually very good. The only down side to Winco (and it's all Wincos, not just this one) is that you have to bag your own groceries so it's hard to watch the register to make sure you are paying what you thought you were for each item. read more

WinCo Foods - a car parked in a parking lot - Grocery Near Me - Salem, Oregon

Stopped by here yesterday. Shelves are all stocked again, which is nice. (Except Toilet Paper). I don't know why, but everyone is hoarding the toilet paper. No matter where I go, it's gone. Good thing I had extra before everyone took it all. read more

WinCo Foods - a car parked in front of a store - Grocery Near Me - Salem, Oregon

This supermarket is close to my home and I have given it a lot of trade. With any discount business it can be like Wallyworld: I've had two spooky encounters in the parking lot and I don't go after dark. The corporation may be experiencing difficulties---my last visit, two of the self-checkout stations had crashed, and the one I used had a defective touch screen which didn't permit me to check out all my four-digit bulk purchases. Checkers have been civil to me. The bulk foods section is the best in town. A short-order cook I knew preferred their meats, but I haven't purchased any meat from them. Produce is OK except for perishables like lettuce. Use the store for its strong suits, like you would a tool. read more

Since Covid they now charge for paper bags they used to be free along with plastic I understand charging for plastic but you've had those paper bags in your warehouse for years it's not right read more

DO NOT stop here if you are from out of town! I stopped in here at 1130 pm while heading home, I redeemed by bottle drop so I could get some food for the drive. I didn't see the small sign that says you can only use bottle drop before 10 pm. The management was simply the rudest and most unhelpful. I ended up giving my money away to an employee because it could only be used at that location. Thanks for screwing me over WinCo read more

If you love the end of the month pay days and enjoy bad life decisions on those days... by all means come here. 4star for great prices and people entertainment. read more

Is there a -10 star button? Charging $15.98 for first 5 dozen eggs and $25.98 for any additional 5 dozen? Who does this? What a ripoff! This store went from being a decent store to being a total dump that treats customers like trash also. Very dissatisfied. Horrible service. read more

when buying an item on sale today, they charged me the non sale price. even after I took a picture of the item and price on their shelf and showed the cashier. the cashier was not engaged or caring. its hard to believe they are employee owned. read more

We just moved here from Guam and I loved it! So much cheaper items compare to the place we came from. It reminds me of Foodmaxx back in California. They have so much stuff like can foods, snacks, meat and they even have the dispenser area which is super cool! This place is awesome! This is our go to place whenever we need something in our house. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THOSE YUMMY DONUTS!!!! I was going to purchase some donuts from this Winco today. When I opened the case to help myself I noticed it was infested with fruit flies. I decided not to purchase them and notified an employee. I was informed that there's nothing they can do about it, as corporate and management are aware..."they haven't done anything about it. I can't do anything past that." That's is not acceptable as people can get sick. So, STAY AWAY FROM THOSE DONUTS, or anything not packaged for that matter. read more

My family has been buying their groceries from WinCo since I was too young to remember. We usually shop at the one on Lancaster but we decided since we needed to go to Trader Joe's we would try the south Salem store instead. Both of us were less than impressed. The store felt dirtier than the one on Lancaster. Their meats looked rather iffy and the staff were not very helpful at all. We will be sticking with the other WinCo. This place was just gross. read more

Great deals. Yes, the fork lift guys need to calm down. The deli sans and chicken had a large price hike Funny, Rick H mentioned the pretty checker. He is correct. Friendly, competent, and very pretty. She has been there for ages. A keeper! I wish the deli was open for morning commute. read more

Can never go wrong with Winco, even if you're a health nut like yours truly. You can find great deals on produce, canned veggies, yogurt and frozen fruit/veggie mixes. This place is perfect if you are looking to eat healthy and if you are on a budget. Every time I go the staff have been pretty friendly, kind of awkward at times but aren't we all? Make sure you bring your own bags too. read more

Very disappointing they don't take credit cards. Love there prices but went to buy a grocery cart worth of items today and to my finding they don't take credit cards and that's the only method of payment I had. Didn't want to pay fees to get cash back. Should have more signs posted. I personally didn't see any. Went to Walmart instead. read more

I don't like coming to this winco, the store set up is different compared to the others. They also appear to have a different selection as the other locations. I only come here if I absolutely have to. read more

Shopping at Winco on March 12, 2020, in response to the coronovirus food supply alerts: So ... I was there today, at approximately 11am. When I came to the checkout lines, there was total chaos.... people didn't know where the the checkout lines ended and the whole space was jammed. While one would have expected some staff there to sort it out, there was none. Sort of reflects how our whole government "system" has failed to anticipate this health crisis. read more

Well I enjoyed the store,, nice, clean well put together. I DID NOT ENJOY THE CHECK OUT GUY!!!! He was quite rude to my elderly parents,,, he was short with his answers and kept heavy sighing when my father would ask questions. I really wish I had my receipt with me as I write this because his name or Employee # would/should be on it..... He was a tall large man with glasses middle aged and on #1 checkout beside the self check out( 07/15/18 about 2 ish in the afternoon)Some people are not cut out for customer Service... I won't be back.... read more

We love this store. Great prices on almost everything and a pretty decent selection. I do not shop at WinCo the first weekend of the month because they're crazy busy but they usually have plenty of check stands open and super friendly employees. read more

This winco is one of the best ones ive been to. They have products other wincos dont have. Its not as crowded as the lancaster one and it's in a better neighborhood so better locals. I will drive across town just to go here . Because have you been to the one on lancaster??? Enough said fuck that place read more

This is a pretty nice Winco, the outside has a bunch of cute flowers and pots for sale, and the inside is always clean. It seems smaller and less of a selection on certain items, definitely a smaller frozen section. We normally go to the Winco on Lancaster. That location seems like it is always packed and the employees are not as friendly there as they are here. The lady working in the bakery was very helpful, she went in the back and found me the specific bread I needed. Today is the day before the super bowl, I expected it to be very chaotic and busy. Pleasantly surprising...it wasnt, we were in and out pretty quick and the cashier was really friendly. read more

I love this particular Winco compared to the others around the Salem area. It's a clean store and the shelves are always stocked with what I am looking for. Employees are always friendly and helpful. I actually enjoy bagging my own groceries because I can sort my food into frozen, refrigerated, canned, boxed, etc... where as at the other grocery stores I don't have that option. Plus I use the brown grocery sacks afterwards to pitch my recycles in. read more

Great selection of food items, good prices. The employees are kind and helpful. I recommend Winco!

This is probably my main grocery store..really cant beat these prices.. The employees are so friendly. .ive been shopping here for years.. the one thing I wish is that they carried a larger selection of organic and specialty items (allergy friendly) ..although I have noticed its gotten a lot better in the last few years. read more

The self checkout at the S Salem WINCO is worthless. Everytime you scan an item and bag it, the damn thing freaks out. And waiting for the fat attendant to assist us took forever. He was rude and slow. Will NEVER go there again. Just like everything else in Oregon, our experience sucked. read more

Winco Deli has raise the prices on chickens and salads. Many bulk items have recently been jacked up too.

Outstanding value grocery market. This operation provides a huge selection of grocery products, including fresh vegetables, fruits, a deli, liquor, and the meat and fish are high quality at excellent pricing. The numerous checkout stands make sure you do wait in a long line, the clerks are friendly, the store is clean and well lit, and the overall operation allows for low pricing across the board. This is a great place to shop if you want low prices for the majority of your grocery needs. read more

we're very lucky here in the Northwest to have a grocery store like this. buy in part their pricing on all grocery items no one else can beat. because of the volume of produce that they sell and their price. On this to you can't beat it. their deli department does a fine job, top notch fried chicken, and again no one can beat their price. nice variety of cold cuts that are reasonably priced. the seafood department is OK, by what you know is good. there are certain items in the meat department that I won't buy. mostly steaks. pork chops whole pork loins whole chicken and chicken breast they do a good job with. some other specialty items in the case, nice as well. the frozen department dairy department and bakery have a good selection at wonderful prices. the bonus to this establishment is that is an employee owned company. they now have a huge organic vegetable section and fruit section. read more
