I am extremely picky about the oat milk I keep and use in my home and this was the first coffee shop I have ever been to that vocalized and prioritizes offering dairy free options that isn't full of junk ingredients. Their matcha is sweetened with honey. I usually opt out of all sweeteners but decided to go for it here. It was great! A little too sweet but I didn't feel so bad knowing it was local honey and not refined sugary syrups. I grabbed a regular latte - no sweeteners for a friend and she raved about it! I was hoping to grab some local microgreens they advertise on their website but I didn't see any in the case. They did have a few salads for a grab and go option that I thought was nice for a quick lunch on the road. I would definitely be back when in the area again!

They always make sure to get my toddler son the best juices and donuts. The orange juice has been my favorite so far, so good. They also have some really good pastries available. The one with sausage is delicious. My wife also loves their coffee. The building next door has chickens, which is a nice distraction for the kids. Highly recommend this spot!

I visited Coffee Etc. recently for an afternoon pick-me-up. Since this shop is close to my house,…read moreand everything they have is so good, it is one that I find myself coming back to time after time. Coffee Etc. is a locally-owned coffee shop located in the heart of Castle Shannon. It is near well-known places such as Ice Castle and just down the hill from Myrtle Elementary. They serve traditional and artisan coffees and teas, along with an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch items. There is always a selection of desserts and pastries on the counter as well. It is right along the T line, so it is easy to get to both by vehicle and public transit. There is not a private parking lot, but there are spaces along the street out front, as well as ample Street parking options around and behind the building. I have never had to park too far away when making a stop here, often securing a space right in front. The shop has both indoor and outdoor seating options. There are two-person and four-person tables that surround the front entrance. Inside, there are low-top tables, high-top tables and couches to choose from. On the weekends, it can be packed in here in terms of seating. I usually am able to find a table, but just be aware in case you are coming during a peak time! Overall, the vibe is a comfy and cozy cafe. It is warm, inviting, and makes you want to hang out for awhile. I always love the in-progress puzzle that sits at the counter where drinks are handed out. You can contribute a little bit to the work-in-progress in your idle moments waiting for your order to be ready. It is also fun to see what puzzle will be there the next time you visit. Something cool about this place is their dedication to their faith. They have free Bibles available for visitors, and they host different Bible studies and groups throughout the week. On this day, I visited around 1:45 PM on a Wednesday in September. It was not very busy, but there were other patrons in the shop. I took a moment to look at the monthly specials on the board outside, and made my way in to order a drink. The staff here are always so friendly and kind, and so it is no surprise that I was promptly greeted when entering. I was between a few of the drinks, but I ended up deciding on the Kettle Corn Iced Latte, since that is not a flavor you see everyday for coffees. As it was not busy at this time, I only waited a minute or so from the time I placed my order to when I had the drink in-hand. My drink was very good! I loved the unique flavor of the Kettle Corn, as I had never had that in a coffee before this latte. I truly have never had a bad drink or food item from here, and this visit was no different. They have so many different flavors and sauces to choose from, you will surely find one to your liking. I typically get one of the features/seasonal drinks, but you are able to customize any which way you want. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing here, so I have to mention them in this review as well. I did not get one on this visit, but they are made-to-order and the quality is top-notch. There are several sandwiches on the menu, but you can also customize your own. I recommend getting the Chipotle Raspberry Jam on whatever sandwich you choose. It is wonderful! Plus, the sandwiches come with a little cookie as a sweet ending to your meal. The pricing here is on-par with what you would expect from a local coffee shop. I am usually spending between $6 and $7, depending on the size. I will typically get a custom sandwich, which starts at $7.50. It is not off-base with what you would expect for a local shop. I do feel the value is there, since everything is so tasty and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I always love coming to Coffee Etc, and I highly recommend you give it a try if you are in the area or are thinking about stopping. The atmosphere, homemade sandwiches, variety of drinks, and the cozy vibes keep me coming back time and time again. Plus, they are always having new and seasonal drinks to try, so there will always be something different to enjoy.

We brought the kids along, and the outdoor seating made it the perfect spot for our family. There are picnic tables and benches outside, so we were able to enjoy our food and coffee while the kids had plenty of space to be comfortable. The staff couldn't be friendlier; they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time walking in. Even if you're just stopping by for a quick coffee, it's worth it. MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST IN PITTSBURGH/THE STATE/AND 2ND OF ALL TIME…read more Everything here was fucking perfect and it was just all staple diner food in the best version possible. Absolutely nothing crazy (minus the French toast) that is just NAILED. And THE PRICES are so awesome The Hot Mess. Massive, loaded and delicious. That's not an omelette either.. that's their scrambled eggs loaded with potatoes and smothered it their insane sausage gravy. The biscuits with it. Right out the oven fresh, so soft, not dry in the slightest and honestly didn't even need anything on it. The corned beef hash was probably the best I've had. I never had it was such a great crisp/crunch to it. That is my new standard for corned beef hash The pancakes. The best in Pittsburgh and my top 3-5 of all time. I hate the hotcake style which you see in Pittsburgh MINUS the crisp with it. But I don't want that throughout the entire thing, I still want my fluff. This delivered that PERFECTLY. Great crisp on just the edges and the fluff in the middle. Absolutely perfect THE BOSTON CREME FRENCH TOAST. My second favorite breakfast item I've gotten in Pittsburgh. You will rarely see me get French Toast unless it's recommended a decent bit or just looks nuts. THIS is my favorite French toast I've had and I hate Boston Creme 90% of the time. It always gets too overfilled, and too sweet of a custard. NOT HERE. The chocolate topping was perfect, not just a basic syrup people buy at the store that is so overpowering. Can 1000% tell homemade. The custard had the perfect amount of sweet ratio for amount they give Warning it's small inside with minimal seating and you will have to wait. I drove 50 for it and waited 35 for a table. I would drive 2 hours and wait another 2. I will be returning numerous times ESPECIALLY when they have the Bear Claw Pancake Special
