Every other gas station in norwalk will kindly turn on the air and water for you if you ask nicely or buy anything. This gas station would rather see you stranded or force you to buy fuel or feed quarters into the machine. Even after I had bought 6 dollars worth of food the cashier still wanted me to pay for air and kept offering to change my dollars for quarters. Incredibly rude service and attempt to overcharge On Wednesday morning, February 13, 2019, I was making the long trek north to LA in rush hour traffic for a business meeting when I decided to pull off the 5 freeway to visit 7-Eleven and purchase a snack. It was 8:15 am. As I walked up to the front of the store, I put some trash into the trash can. To my horror, I accidently dropped my cell phone into the receptacle along with my trash. I had to reach to the bottom of the can to find my phone and both my hand and phone came out wet and very dirty. When I entered the store, the cashier acknowledged me by saying, "did you drop your phone into the trash?" I said yes, holding my dripping wet phone and hand slightly away from my body, and asked her if I could please be directed to the restroom. The cashier (I overheard another customer call her Amy) said to me, with a look of distain, "the bathrooms are for paying customers only". WOW. I would have expected her to perhaps offer me a paper towel and/or immediately show me where the restroom was. Instead, she just stared at me after making her comment. I told her that was planning on buying something, but that I need to wash up first. She paused for another moment, then just said out loud four numbers. I took that to mean an entry code to the restroom, and went to look for the restroom to clean up my hand and phone. I selected a small cereal bar for my purchase, priced at $1.99. When I approached Amy at the cash register, she announced that the sale was $2.49. I let her know that the price was $1.99, and she became rude and told me that I was wrong. I said, "OK, I'll give this back to you then." and stepped away to pick out another item. Amy yelled out to me, in front of several other customers, "See, you are not a paying customer!" I was humiliated by her comment, yet still went to pick up another item, a small bag of trail mix, and went back to the register. The look that Amy gave me was one of scorn, and the treatment I received while I was at that 7-Eleven was such that I have never seen demonstrated by a service professional. I have no idea why I was treated so rudely, but I can say that I will NEVER again patronize that 7-Eleven. read more

This is a newly opened 7-eleven location with a 76 gas station attached. So much better than the highly over priced Valero that was once housed here. Fuel prices are now more in line with surrounding stations in the area. I digress, this is a review of the convenience store. New businesses always have a few jitters when launching. This one is no different. Where I fault them is on the technical side. Making a purchase of a refill coffee and 3 candy bars (don't judge) became a chore of epic proportions. Their computers weren't coded correctly with prices on a promo item and this made checking out a 10 minute ordeal. The manager on duty was flustered, the counter folk were confused, and the guy on the phone helping the manager was of no help. We came here on a road trip because my little sister was throwing up and we needed a bathroom. They would not let us use the bathroom even though we were planning on buying something. I came to leave a bad review because it's ridiculous that a gas station wouldn't have a bathroom for public use especially when we had a girl who was throwing up and needed a bathroom. I was just there to get gas. Went into the store and picked $37 dollars worth of stuff. At the register, I tried paying with my Apple Card but the card system there kept asking for a four digit pin or number. Apple cards don't have numbers. After following the clerks orders, kept trying and trying for 10 minutes. Then used by BofA credit card with numbers and all and had the same problem. Tried again for another 10 minutes but again, did not work. I often stop by seven eleven in Gardena to get coffee and water and I never once had any problems using my Apple Card or credit card. Furthermore, no merchant I ever dealt with asked for a four digit pin or credit card number. My 20 minutes experience of trying to do something that was not required, or at least, I never had to do before. So, I told the clerk that I'm not going to purchase anything and started walking out. As I was about to exit, the clerk with no visible name, called me an ASSHOLE. I went back in and told him, what you call me and he stated, you heard what I called you. WOW. I don't ever recall someone ever calling me that. The clerk was clearly an Arab man. When I asked for his name he wouldn't give it to me. And when I told him again, why I left everything and walked out, he started getting more aggressive. I had to tell him to just calm down. I know with this coronavirus crisis, everyone is on edge but if you are a service provider working at seven eleven, you can't be calling people ASSHOLES for whatever reason. Is it a cultural thing where certain immigrants like him treat customers like that. Is it accepted in there culture. I'm going to file a complaint with their corporate office. Honestly just had the worse customer service from a 7/11. I come in and ask the older guy that's behind the counter if they are still making food since no food was available. He then answers with a "no we're not". I then ask him oh ok when do you guys stop making them? He replies with "when they're done they're done. So I told him oh ok just asking since the lady that works there is always real nice and cooks food when people come in. Honestly, at the end of the day it's just food and can just go down the street to Jack in the box for some tacos but the fact that this guy responds with attitude is what crossed me the wrong way.
