This is our stop of choice when traveling to points east, and we've done so on numerous occasions…read moreover the years. As with all Buc-ee's locations, you can expect the cleanest and most plentiful bathrooms in the history of mankind, enough gas pumps for an entire town (I think, I just did a napkin count), and all of the snacks and hot food that you could possibly want, to say nothing of an expansive merch selection. So what's not to like? Nothing. Nothing is not to like, it's just a great place that never fails to deliver on everything. My official hot tip for this and all Buc-ee's: check out the coin battery prices, those little round guys, for some reason, are cheaper here than almost almost anywhere else. There's another Buc-ee's closer to our home, it's my destination for those pesky CR2025 and CR2032, which seem to get slurped up by our devices. There's truly nothing bad I can say about this or any other Buc-ee's. Just make it a part of your travel, you won't be disappointed.

If you're driving on a Texas highway and see a Buc-ee's sign, exit - even if you don't need gas. My Overall Rating - 4 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - Buc-ee's is big, busy, and always crowded. If you're an introvert, I recommend you stay in the car. Walking into a Buc-ees is like walking into a Walmart. Same lighting, same item you can buy, and tons of people. 1/2 Stars. Service - Hats off to the Buc-ee's staff, because while it's always super crowded, I've never had to wait long because there are so many checkout stations and the staff are so nice and helpful. Everyone, from the staff making the BBQ to the fudge counter, everyone is super helpful. 1 Star. Facility - The bathrooms at Buc-ee's have earned legendary status. They're clean, the line moves fast, and it leaves you plenty of time to shop for....ANYTHING. Need pool supplies? Check. Flamin' Hot Cheetos? Check. Cookies? Check. Clothes? Check. You get the idea. The staff chops up fresh brisket sandwiches for you to grab and go. For me? I always grab the sugar roasted pecans. I can eat a cone of these sweet, warm treats in one sitting. Oh, Buc-ee's has gas too. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I'll plan my road trips around spending time at Buc-ee's. It's always a great rest stop where I can refuel my car and my body. 1 Star.

OK... So I'm staying at the Sheraton and I figured I'd walk a couple blocks for some soda and a six…read morepack of beer. Fine. Except for the crazy dude outside as I exited with my purchase. I'm at the counter with my purchase, and some lunatic starts banging on the window behind the cashier and yelling/looking at both of us. The cashier says "Don't worry about him. He's here all the time." I said "Well, he'd better worry about me if he does that when I walk out." And what happened? Mr. "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" accosted me as I exited the store to the sidewalk. "Give me a beer!" he yelled at me, bowing up and trying to look threatening. "Leave me alone, man. I'll beat your ass right here and now," I responded. So the guy says "Bring it on!" and then circled me and punched me in the shoulder. The teenage me put my stuff down and swung at his face (I missed and hit him in the neck) and then he moved on to the next unsuspecting customer ... just like that. My wife yelled at me after I described what was supposed to be a quick beer and soda run, warning me that the guy could have had a knife. Fine. She had a point. To 7-11: Hire a security person. To anyone in the area who cares: Camp at this location, and please get this guy some help. To potential customers: Carry pepper spray.

I would have checked the second time before leaving but this location is a little sketchy and the guy checking me out was shouting "fuck you bitch" to another customer so I just wanted to get out of there.
