Such a great tucked-away treasure! I needed to meet with a colleague, and the pictures online…read morelooked like there were plenty of seating options for us to go over our work. After parking around the corner and figuring out the correct sidewalk, I was amazed at how spacious Jirani is with plenty options for gathering, including outside tables, shared lobby spaces, and tucked-away booths in the back. Even though we chatted a while before ordering, no one pressured us to buy something in order to stay. I decided to try a hot chai with oat milk and a cinnamon scone. Both were quite delicious, and they even offered to warm the pastry for me. The chai had a lot of flavor and paired very well with the cinnamon. We ended up staying there for a couple hours, and the back booth was perfect to spread out for our planning session. I wouldn't hesitate to return here the next time I need to be in the area. It's perfect to grab a bite and get things done solo or with a group!

My issue is the food. It's just not very good. Drinks are inconsistent. The kids behind the counter are fine but really have minimal social skills. And the meals, whether it's an egg sandwich or a bagel with cream cheese, are tasteless. There's no pizazz. Nothing that makes me want to go there for breakfast. It also takes a long time to get your food.

The default vanilla latte isn't overly sweet, which is good. The regular latte is pretty well pulled. Not over extracted, but a little too much milk for my preference. My wife had an English muffin with an egg. It tasted as good as a 2 ingredient dish could taste. Or at least those 2 ingredients. My raspberry crumble was also good, but could have used more raspberry. I prefer to taste the raspberry as the predominant flavor and in this bar it was a bit masked by the crumble. Still enjoyable though. It's a bit tight inside and typical of an independent coffee shop. Wooden floors and something to look at wherever you turn. Definitely a decent place to grab a cup of coffee if you are in old town. We haven't been here in the evening, it they do have a decent beer list for later in the day.

We usually stop by every other week as my kids and husband are getting their haircut at the old town man cave. It is definitely a staple in old town, Manassas. The service is always amazing. The staff is always so nice and so kind and considerate. I enjoy going in there and getting a chance to talk to them and everything too. The ambience is amazing because it's decorated with local artists and letting them sell their designs in the shop. It's the perfect little hometown right here in old town.

BLUF: Lots of kinks in customer service and operations need to be worked out. Food was ok. Walking in, we liked the vibe. The place is tight on space and it gets very busy and crowded on weekends. This coffeehouse has potential, but they're not showing their best right now. Bait and switch: Based on their menu, we did not at all receive what we were anticipating. It sounded so delicious on the menu. However, what we got was not what was posted and not one of the staff told us that they were out of what we ordered. Not at the time of ordering, not while we waited forever to get our food, not when the food finally came out. Some food was brought to us, some sat out on the counter forever (because the buzzers don't work) where other customers picked up their orders. Who knows how much spit ended up on the food! We kept munching and kept thinking something is missing. We looked under the bread and didn't see what was stated on the menu so we finally asked and were told they were out of what we ordered. Absolutely unacceptable but useless at this point after waiting 20+ minutes for sandwiches and beverages and being faced by someone extremely unapologetic and unmotivated to correct the situation. So, prices definitely not worth what you get here. Hit or miss in terms of food and beverages for both quality and taste. Disappointing that the coffee was so sour and bitter tasting. Hoping for a nice smooth cup. Everything we ordered and customer service received here...unreliable at best. Worth the drive? Nope. If in the immediate area and needing caffeine, maybe, but definitely not worth going out of your way. Parking tight on the weekends. Was so hoping to love this place because we need more independent warm, cozy, welcoming coffeehouses. But service, food, coffee at this point were all very disappointing. Big improvements in all areas? Well, maybe we'll return and try again, but the poor first impression received on this visit will be hard to motivate a return in order to improve this rating and review.

The owner is from Colombia, and there's a beautiful portrait in the shop representing coffee from her family's farms, which adds such a personal and meaningful touch. This place is as charming as it gets--cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. Great coffee, delicious sweets, and a solid selection of sandwiches. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
