This is actually a 76 gas station with a 7-Eleven branded convenience store, and it's definitely one of the cheapest gas stations in the DTLA area. There's also currently an additional discount if you pay at the pump through the 76 phone app called Fuel Forward. Although it can get busy at times, they have a good number of pumps, and so you never have to wait too long. You can also fill up propane tanks here. The 7-Eleven store here is decently sized, and you can find a large selection of many essential grocery store items such as laundry supplies, toiletries, pet food, etc in case it's late and your local market is closed. They're open 24 hrs, and there's usually a security guard, so I've never felt unsafe here. Located at the corner of Alameda and Olympic Blvd. read more

Not happy: 2-Stars. Bought gas at this location, selected regular and got charged for Premium. The price for regular was $3.99 and after pushing that button, the indicators went blank and the gas flowed. However, I had paid in advance for enough to fill my tank, but the money ran out. How so? I then calculated the amount I paid divided by the gas the pump indicated I'd used and it came to $4.29 - Premium price. When I went inside to ask why I had been overcharged, the attendant printed a receipt and said I selected Premium. NO I DID NOT. The far left button, which I pushed, still indicated $3.99 but it's 'wired'(?) to Premium. I'm assuming most people don't notice. But I had prepaid and consistently track my mileage to determine efficiency and so knew exactly what the amount should be. I would avoid this location if you don't want to get robbed. It's obviously so easy for them to take advantage of people. PS: Just look at the video surveillance and tell me I pushed the wrong button... And I'll add to this debacle, the receipt states go to gasfeedback to give feedback; but, when you do the station finder feature doesn't work and hijacks the form. So I cannot leave feedback for this station. If you don't want this to affect your rating then don't print it at the bottom of your receipts....along with the survey link that's expired already. read more

I absolutely love this store location. Have been coming once twice, maybe 4 times a week, for practically 2 years. I started loading my CashApp and/or Netspend card here instead of check cashing or CVS. Let's face it 7-11's are 24 hours. But then, start and stop hours were put into place. Still, this location had the best start time, 4am opposed to 7am at other locations. YES, there is a discrepancy between locations. Ok, I can work with that, but when I'm told by the cashier this morning that I can't load my cards until 5:30 or 6 or after. Yep, the response to my question was just that non committed. So put air in my tires, my Mini tires loose air often, and then went in to get my soda and Prime Rib chips, people these are the best chips EVER. When checking out and said I also want to load my card, I get the response that now I have to wait because he doesn't do that on his shift. SMMFH ‍All bad for him. I reiterated to him that he had told me less than 10 minutes before that it was 5:30-6, even though I know it's actually 4am that I can load cards(done it before). This cashier handed me my receipt and pointed to a number to call if I wanted. Why is the number to the store Google lists? And gets answered as Thanks for calling 76? No matter how many ways I add, subtract, times, and divide 7-11, it doesn't come out to 76. So me as I am jump on my 7-11 app and find a different number. I call. I make a complaint. And I was just pissy enough that I came here to YELP. At this point, I am waiting for a response back from 7-11 app or location mgmt. Both would be great, just ssying. read more

My original review stated: I was in this store at around 11 PM tonight. There were 2 Hispanic clerks at the counter, one with an assistant managers badge. I stood at the counter as they continued a personal conversation and completely ignored me. I finally had to say "hello, can anyone help me". They reluctantly turned their attention to me. As a black man living in Los Angeles, I am sick of the blatant racist behavior. Enough is enough!!!!! Shortly after posting this review. I got a call from some guy who said he was the area manager. Convenient location from my work. If I need a quick snack I'm usually in and out quickly. No complaints about service, never really engaged with staff members. I do recommend more outside lighting at night near the main store. Looks sketchy at night, you will encounter lots of vagrants at this location. Be careful but kind and give them some spare change. I REALLY needed to use the restroom (diarrhea) and Cold hearted Bertha was cleaning it at the same time around noon. "Can't I use it before you clean it? No,the floor is already wet. Well, how long to clean it? 30 minutes!"Funny I've never taken more than ten minutes to clean a bathroom myself. Maybe she uses a toothbrush like the recruits in the Marines. She was adamant and stubborn like a Doberman on permanent Latrine guard duty, but it only took 15 minutes. First impressions are important, especially for a new establishment. It was my first time in 7-Eleven Store #37200 (10840 Garfield Ave, South Gate, California). On Wednesday, 12/26/2018, at 7:20pm, I entered the store to purchase a cup of coffee. First, off the clerk did not acknowledge me. (no problem) Unfortunately there wasn't any coffee available, so I opted for a frappuccino. I was standing in the aisle and serving myself coffee. As I walked towards the front of the store, I noticed the male clerk had been watching me the whole time. When I asked the clerk, "at which time does the store stop serving coffee?" There was no response I was not sure if he heard me ask the question. So, I asked the question, again. And the clerk ignored my question, and processed to rush me to make my purchase. During the transaction, two Male Latino entered the store, and the clerk greeted the gentlemen, with a polite "Hello" and a smile. (IInteresting) I informed the clerk how uncomfortable he made feel, and he began to shake his head and mumble something. Maybe, it's cultural differences, and/or he view women as inferior. Whatever the case, that experience was hurtful and upsetting, and It will be my first, and my last time shopping at that 7-Eleven on the corner of Imperial and Garfield. read more
