Friendly and fast service. Cheap drinks and eats right by the beach. We like to stop for in for a Big Gulp after a hot day at the beach.

Went on 4/17/21 at 3:00 pm. Incredibly rude cashier guy. Charges people money to use bathroom even if paying customer. Is that even legal?

Came in on a Sunday and there was a line but there is a 6 seats at the bar so I sat there. They was very busy with everyone heading to the beach. I the combo with French toast, eggs, potato's and bacon. The French toast was great. It's my fav breakfast item. Got my eggs sunny side up and love them. Mix the yolk with the potato's. Bacon was ok, asked for it crispy and came out Soso. They was busy so didn't say anything. Food great, service was good, slow due the pack place. I will be back for breakfast again

We were seated after about an hour wait after our 1st check in. After 10 minutes our server - who explained she was training and it was her 1st day came to the table without the server training her. Needless to say, she didn't know the menu and needed to come back again to get details on our meal (this is not her fault, and who made the decision to have a trainee work her 1st day on a holiday without supervision). We did receive our food, but couldn't get a refill on my iced tea because our server never check in on us. I didn't see our actual server until I had completed my meal. I asked to see the manager. I explained all of this to the manager and she had zero empathy for our situation. Instead, she defended the ladies at the front and said the training server was one of her better servers. All she offered was a faint, half-hearted apology. I've worked as a server and can understand when someone is in the weeds. In this case, it was just horrible service, and a manager who didn't appear to understand what quality service is. The food was fine ... not sure if it is worth the hassle.

Stopped in while I was nearby and went with a classic drip brewed coffee and one of their frittata sandwiches. They offered different brew strengths which was cool that I had the option and not forced into one. I went with the light roasted brew with some almond milk and vanilla syrup. Their light roast is exactly that, light roast. The coffee tasted great and had hints of flavor I've never really tasted in other commercial light roasts. I also ordered their frittata sandwich on rosemary focaccia. This is definitely something you wouldn't expect to find in your average cafe! The sandwich was hot and definitely made that day. The frittata had chopped up bits of bacon and cheddar throughout and paired well with the rosemary focaccia. They definitely thought out of the box with that one. What sets this place apart from the others is that they serve you with a smile. From the moment you order to the when your food is handed of the customer service here is top notch. Friendly and courteous. Give them a go!

I stopped by the Long Branch location, located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. The interior is pretty small. No seating available - just a register to order, counter, pick-up area, and merchandise section. They only operate as a grab-and-go. I can see it being cramped during rush hours in the morning... luckily I came by on a weekday afternoon and was the only one there. Rook prides itself on having a small and simple menu. They only sell hot pour-over single origin coffee and cold brew. They picked a few things to perfect and do really well. So for espresso lovers, you're out of luck. BUT don't let that steer you away because their drinks are phenomenal. They use high quality, premium beans. The employee was extremely helpful with guiding me through the menu and giving me recommendations. I love that milks and sweeteners are available at no additional charge! They also have decaf and half caf options. I ordered a Vanilla Cold Brew (regular size $5.50) with milk and sugar. And let me tell you... it was love at first sip! It was probably the best cold brew I've ever had. Super smooth, rich, and creamy. The vanilla flavor wasn't overpowering and added just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely understand why so many people love their coffee. I wish there were more locations closer to North Jersey because I can see myself becoming a regular. If you can't visit a storefront, you can buy their cold brew concentrates or coffee beans online. Don't sleep on Rook!
