This is a mighty fine Starbucks in the heart of Uptown Park Ridge. We have dropped by here…read moreoccasionally over the years, usually to get our favorite Starbucks refreshment - a delectable mocha frappuccino. Today was no exception on that practice. The staff and service and usual products have always been quite fine here over the years. The building looks like an ex bank drive-up location based on a drive up lane that still exits but is not used by Starbucks and there is no drive-thru service here. Their dining space is nice and airy and they do have a little patio space looking out to the strip mall across the lot entranceway. My only knock from a 5 star rating is their parking lot is a fairly congested as it is sort of shared with the adjacent strip mall and you have to watch for lots of parking lot traffic as you walk to the store entrance. Otherwise, it's a great and handy Starbucks location for us.

Parking: the lot is small but I always find a spot towards back of the lot. The tasting section in Trader Joe's is very nice. The tasting section staff member is always a wonderful conversationalist, very engaging. Store has semi wide aisles, nicely decorated and signs in store sharing prices. For brunch I was pleased to buy all items for under $20: Charles Shaw wine, Kale and Broccoli salad, Vanilla Cake and Cookies. My favorite item was the cake! I can't wait to try all the cake flavors. Cashier is so helpful. I find shopping at Trader Joe's an extremely enjoyable experience.

Rounding the corner into the garage was a little precarious given two-way traffic, but they do have a mirror in the corner for precautions. There were elevators up a floor to the main store. We went in around seven, so the hot bar and salad bar were a bit on the slim pickings side. However, I was still able to make a decent enough mediterranean salad and select a main. Some of the roasted potatos were slightly under done, but otherwise everything was great. We didn't interact with a ton of staff since they have self checkout at this location, but everyone seemed relatively low-key and friendly. It wasn't at all busy, but it could be that we were shopping late on a week night. Despite being in the city, this location still felt plenty spacious and well stocked with produce, refrigerated, and shelf stable items.

Frosting also taste sugary and too sweet for my taste. I was expecting something more delicate as it is a chantilly cake. Cashiers are kind and friendly!

I had a disappointing and humiliating experience at this location. While using my EBT…read morecard--something they clearly accept--I was spoken to in a loud and disrespectful tone in front of other customers. I was told I should "flash the card and announce it ahead of time," as if I had done something wrong. EBT is a form of assistance used by individuals facing real hardships. No one deserves to be shamed or treated unkindly for using it. A little compassion and professionalism from the staff would go a long way. I hope this business reflects on how they speak to customers and treats everyone with dignity, regardless of how they pay.

This Tony's Fresh Market location just happened to be one of the nearest to my neighborhood located on the west-side of Chicago. As for this visit, I had no issues whatsoever finding a parking spot for my vehicle. I have to admit, at first, I did not think I would find a spot until I drove to the backside of Tony's where I found a number of open spots available. Inside, the atmosphere felt very relaxed at this Tony's with a neighborhood grocery store vibe. Other than that, I must say that it was a break shopping here versus a Jewel-Osco, Pete's Fresh Market, or Mariano's. Now along with the items shelved being organized, the market is acceptably clean, and the aisles have plenty of maneuvering space in-between. I particularly searched for breakfast foods in hopes that I could find something on the lines of a box of Jimmy Dean - Croissant Egg & Cheese, but I could not. The items I took a liking to and ended up purchasing were a box of Gardein Ultimate Plant-Based Be'f & Broccoli, Lean Cuisine Cheese Ravioli, Ore-Ida Tater Tots, and a box of Frosted Grape Pop Tarts which I had never encountered before, ever! The Ore-Ida Tater Tots were a must purchase for me because as of late, I have been addicted to cooking tater tots in my air fryer as a late evening snack! I know, I know it is so bad eating tater tots late in the evening, but gosh, they are so darn good! For the most part, I enjoyed shopping at Tony's Fresh Market, but I just cannot see myself shopping here regularly due to it being out of my way. I consistently experience mushy fruits and avocado that is going bad internally. I don't think they practice good storage technique. The prices are also higher than before the change in ownership and the competition. For example they sell regular and organic bananas for 79 cents and 99 cents a pound. Whole Foods sells for 69 cents and 89 cents. I'll go to Tony's in a pinch if I desperately need something because it is walking distance but usually prefer to drive elsewhere where I get better quality for the same or slightly better price.
