I highly recommend this place. I ended up here on a Sunday afternoon after attempting to go to another station that is closed for a month (???). I was worried because I hadn't had a chance to do my diligence on the place, but I was soon assuaged of my concern. Upon pulling into the (easy to enter and clearly marked) driveway, there were six clearly marked and empty parking spaces. I parked and saw that no one else was there! The service rep at the desk was incredibly friendly and processed my paperwork quickly. The technician met me before I even approached the desk and took my keys with a smile. The entire process took about 10 minutes and was the most pleasant customer service interaction I've had since moving to CA a few months ago. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Found 7 Days A Week Smog when I needed a smog check and found out that the place I usually go doesn't do smog checks on weekends, and was looking for someplace that does. This place is run by a nice young couple, who are very friendly and efficient. In fact, although it's cool that they have free Wi-Fi, you won't really have time to use it much. They were done with my car in less than 15 minutes. Without any coupons, it was $80 for a smog check for a transfer of title, which is more than I've paid elsewhere, but their speed, service and flexibility are worth it. (They do have a coupon up on their website you can print out.) I would recommend them, and I'll be back the next time I need a smog check. read more

I saw the good reviews and gave them at call at 8:30am. They said to come on in and that I just needed to mention their $20 off coupon to get the deal. I pulled in at 8:45 with no wait. They took my car and got started right away. I sat in the sun with my daughter on the nice wicker, cushioned chairs in a corner of their lot and enjoyed my short wait! At 8:55 my car was up, my info was transmitted, I paid my $59 (after my discount), and was home by 9:15! I can say nothing but good things about the service I received. I was greeted by friendly staff, received expedient service, and when I said that I found their business through Yelp, they took $20 off of the bill. The smog test was administered with an excellent level of professionalism while being explained in very transparent and intelligible language. As someone who is registering his car from out-of-state (a state which has significantly less bureaucracy involved in vehicle registration), I thought that the smog test would be yet more hassle in the tortuous California registration process. This morning I was driving around looking for an open smog test place as the one I had chosen...on yelp...that advertised being open at 730 was in fact, not open at 730...so I found myself at the mercy of any open location. I rolled into the 7 Days a Week Smog Test place as the gate was being swung open. Scott was the coolest cat in automotive work I have had the pleasure of dealing with at 8am. I live in San Diego and my daughter is a student in Berkeley. She's always short on time (and sleep) and I had to find a good, reliable place for to get her smog test done, first time. The DMV required it to be done at a test only, or gold certificate place. This place is both. I didn't Yelp!, Tweet, or Google 7 Days before my first visit here. Smog tests are smog tests, I thought: Always oddly unpleasant, and the nicer the techs are, the more you're convinced you're being fleeced. I'd recently moved to Berkeley from SF, where my smog test belief system first took root; these guys were a few blocks from my new place, were painted in cheerful colors, and never seemed understaffed/overcustomered when I passed by. Given my low expectations, I was ready to like 7 Days from the moment I pulled onto their lot and discovered the technician was a gorgeous brunette in a tight t-shirt, probably a couple years post-Cal. But if a combination of luck and lech got me there the first time, it's quality service and friendly, helpful (and often pretty damn cute) staff that is bringing me back this morning, eight years later -- even though I'm once again living in the City. And I don't even own a vehicle. In a prime example of no good deed going unpunished, a while back I bought a 1987 Ford Econoline 350 12' box truck to donate to Grupo de la Comida, a Mission-based charity where I volunteer -- unaware that seven years down the road I'd still be the guy responsible for driving and parking (in the Mission, no less) and maintenance. Every other year, that means getting the beast smogged. The techs at 7 Days have been amazingly patient with it and me -- and the one time it did fail, the owner referred me to a Holland Service, an excellent repair shop a block or two away. They even let me park it on their lot over the weekend once when I'd spaced on getting the registration renewed, Everything else is pretty much as consensus-described: comfortable, funky, PCs provided for customers to surf the web. Took my BMW here to get my smog test completed. Damien performed the test and was extremely efficient and took the time to explain things to me (i'm not from California and this is the first time i've had to go through the whole smog process). Everyone was extremely friendly. I was immediately greeted, provided all necessary information and it is also very nice to have free condiments in a nice waiting room. Passed the smog with flying colors and was in a and out within 30 minutes. I drove from Dublin to this smog station based on all the other yelp reviews and I am glad I did. The previous place I had my car smoked, KT Auto in Fremont, told me that I needed new catalytic converters and then tried selling me a car. I do do not recommend KT Auto in Fremont. Just figured I'd add that. You will be very happy that you took your vehicle to "7 Days a Week Smog Test." Just go onto their website and when you arrive tell them that you saw the $20 off coupon. It would have been hundreds of dollars to fix if I couldn't pass smog. But after resetting/driving around a bit, it passed. The last business day in February and I realized my registration renewal expired on Saturday! I rushed to this place and was given outstanding service. They were very professional and didn't chastise me for walking away and forgetting to leave my keys (so embarrassing). When I returned in the allotted time to pay and pick up my car, they informed me of my oversight and then had to placate me as I overreacted. The very nice Inspector even informed me that if I was AAA member I could take my paperwork to AAA and receive my sticker immediately. I was stoked.
