I will add my voice to the chorus of great reviews... After the place I usually go to told me to come back in a few hours, I decided to try this place. They told me it would be about 30-40 minutes. I went into their closed waiting room (keeps out the noise) where they have a couple of computers, free WiFi, and a collection of free drinks and snacks. They also have a beautiful outdoor waiting area with teak furniture and lovely flowers; it's nicer than my front porch. But unfortunately, it's not that far from the garage, so there was a little too much noise and exhaust for my taste, so I went back to the inside waiting room. Then after about 35 minutes I got the great news that my old clunker had squeaked past the test. And if it hadn't, there is a punching bag a few feet away for taking out your anger:) (And they offer a free retest) The whole experience was friendly, professional, and as pleasant as could be expected. These guys really know what it takes to earn and keep your business. I will be going back in 2 years. read more

I took my 2019 Buick Lacrosse here yesterday for my Engine light On and to request a tune up since my car was approaching 100,000 miles. Instead, of being a honest service center, they kept my car 3 days and proclaimed to be unable to locate the problem/source of issue. On the third day, was called to pickup the car with a diagnosis of three recommended remedies.. 1. Go straight to Dealership for their diag ($$$) to find unknown source 2. Not to provide (aka hide) their invoice with their findings of - "Fuel Pressure Regulator" - "Carbon Build Up" - "Top Engine Cleaning" 3. Provided Service Manuel 16-NA-383 as reference for the next person Upon pickup, was told their shop didn't have the capacity for this job. Good luck and get rid of this car asap, as Buick are horrible cars. No charge to you.. for this ultimate derailment! Same day, took vehicle to Buick dealership (per their advice), which NO problem was found (with a price of $399.00 for diag), car only needed an oil change. They also recommended a Tune up due to the mileage! Go figure! This place cost me a $500.00 oil change. Avoid by any means necessary!! read more

I never thought getting a smog check could be so great! Everything everyone says about this place is true -- it's pleasant, friendly, fast and fun. The people were amazingly helpful and nice, I couldn't believe I was at a smog check place. Plus the free sodas, food, and internet are great too! I didn't even look at the cost of the smog check, I just happily paid it. I would have tipped them had they given me the opportunity. This was my first smog check, but I imagine their prices are competitive, and even if they're not it's worth whatever more you pay to support such a great establishment. I will come back here for a smog check even if I move out of town. It'll be a nice excuse to visit. ;-) read more

This place is awesome! A few years back, we had a beater Ford F-350 mini pump engine at work. The thing was a late 1970's carburetor nightmare. The engine was very strong, but prone to all kinds of vapor lock. We had the engine serviced, the shop that did the work said the vehicle would pass smog no problem - then I proceeded to take it to TWO different smog shops that could not get it to pass... I then took it to this establishment. The said they'd take the time to figure it out...one of the guys who works here was a total gear-head, he was checking out the monstrous (I think like 6.2 liter) engine - then he noticed one of the spark plug wires had fallen off, in the entire five miles I had driven it since the last service. With the spark wire re-attached, the vehicle smog-ed fine. Thanks for taking the time to figure it out. Great service. read more

My thoughts before going here: what the F does a place do to get 5 stars from EVERYONE? Answer: give the best service I've probably ever received from a business. EVER. PERIOD. NO FAKE. Seriously, if even one out of fifty business were this customer oriented and helpful the world would surely be a better place. This is the way businesses should be run. I almost spent $10 more taking my car to another place, but luckily I didn't have the paperwork I needed, and then they were closed on Sunday. That brought me to 7 Days A Week Smog Check, where I was pleased to find: - A friendly, knowledgeable staff who I immediately trusted - A good price (plus a first-time Yelper discount!) - A clean waiting room with two computers for getting online - A waiting time that was LESS than I was told to expect when I brought the car in (without a reservation) Not only did the staff fill me in on what to do to ensure my car was performing optimally for a smog test, they went out of their way to fix a problem with the hood latch. When the test was over, they explained the results to me and had me on my way. The whole process took about 30 minutes, and there was at least one car ahead of me when I arrived. I love love love these people. I'm new to CA and had to get my truck smogged and registered. I have this little issue with my check engine light. It likes to be on, There's nothing actually wrong with the engine, I've driven with it on for the better part of 3 years. I've had major and minor work done. Mechanics shut it off, I get 10 minutes down the road, it comes back on. So I rolled up to the smog place, selected soley because they are open on Sundays and I'm a busy girl. They hooked up the truck and then came in to let me know that the check engine light would be an automatic failure. Nathan told me instead of wasting my money or my time that what he'd done was to shut off the light and he said I should drive around for a while and then come back. The truck needed time to reset itself. So I did. Only when I came back for round two, the blasted light came on while it was on the machine being tested. Grrrr. Again, they shut off the light and told me I should come back. It was late in the day and I was not available to come back till the next morning. I did. With trepidation. Fortunately for me, third time was the charm. They were awesome about the whole thing. Really worked with me to get the truck to pass and THEY ONLY CHARGED ME ONCE. Can't beat that. I think I should bake them some thank you cookies or something. read more

Ok, they're quick. But a tad too quick. They managed to peel out while parking my car in the garage and AGAIN when taking it out. I drive a 12-year-old RAV4 with 140K miles on the original clutch. I just spent $59 on a smog check and I don't want to spend hundreds more on a new clutch! They obviously couldn't tell I was in no hurry. I mean, I came in on a weekday, wearing shorts and flip flops and had a book. Doesn't that scream, " Hey look I'm unemployed with all the time in the world so don't peel out in my car!?" Guess not. Surprisingly a great experience. Friendly people, fast service, and great accommodations for the waiting period (free wifi, e-machines, coffee, tea, snacks, microwave, chairs). I came on a day when one of their machines was down. They had a longer wait, but I didn't mind 'cause I just watched a full episode of Game of Thrones on my laptop using their free wifi whilst sipping good earth tea and eating fig newtons. I was served quickly by knowledgeable friendly people. Nothing went wrong. No reservations were needed - I just drive in and someone met me with the paperwork. I was instructed where to park, leaving the car running. Wow! What a difference a block makes (see oil changers review). The service here was great. Friendly, informative employees, quick service, pleasant little oasis area for sitting while waiting. I'm really happy with my decision to come here. They make the tedious chore of getting your car smogged pleasant. This smog place was great. They are open on Sundays where a lot of other smog places are closed. When I called the guy told me that there was a deal on Groupon which ended up saving me a lot of money. He also said if I came right away there was no one waiting right then. I was able to purchase the Groupon while I waited for the smog check. It only took about 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Their original price of $79.99 seemed to be the same as the other places near the El Cerrito though Berkeley area, but I decided to go to 7 Days because of the reviews on Yelp, and because these guys just seemed the most responsive and nice over the phone. They didn't disappoint! I highly recommend anyone to go here. They also have a nice waiting lounge with free wifi, snacks, and magazines. The smog test didn't take long for me. Wow! In and out within 15 min! Upon giving the lady my car she told me I could sit inside where there was soda in the fridge and food, or I could sit outside in the sun. I popped inside at first and grabbed a soda from the fully stocked fridge. They also had fresh donuts on the counter, as well as cookies and crackers. Not a bad way to start a visit! I ended up sitting outside in the sun and watched as they ran the tests. They didn't screw around. After it was done, I mentioned Yelp and got the $20 off for a grand total of $59. Not too bad! Ok, so anything that offers me free snacks is already guaranteed a pleasant review. That being said, 7 Days a Week Smog Check is off the CHAIN! They have this great waiting room with free internet (where I am currently writing my review now), comfortable chairs free soda, chips and snack packs, filtered water, and coffee! I rarely ever write reviews on Yelp these days unless I have a great experience or a poor experience. In this case, I HIGHLY recommend 7 Days a Week Smog Test. Scott helped me out today and I told him my concerns about smogging my race car (because I haven't smogged the car since I bought it and I didn't know what to expect--I was scared to fail and get red flagged by the State of California as a "gross polluter"). The more and more we talked, he eased my concerns, and relieved my nerves. When my car passed, I wanted to give him a hug, but didn't think he'd go for it. Hahaha! They are super friendly over there, they have tea, water, and snacks to munch on as you wait. They even have a dog bowl and doggie snacks for those clients who bring their K-9's along (and they welcome dogs so bring them!). :-) I used the punching bag and the speed bag while I was there a little bit just for fun. I would have hit up the weights and done my workout there as well had I brought my whey protein shakes. Hahaha! I'd definitely go back to them again and I will refer my friends as well. 7 days a week has done something truly innovative here: They have spent time and, yes, money to make the experience of getting your car smogged actually pleasant! You get free sodas, water and tea, an Internet connection and available terminals, and they recently finished a little outdoor patio area for you to lounge in while waiting for your car to do its thing. Oh, and did I mention that they were at least 10 dollars cheaper than the guy down the street? The only thing I would say is that it wouldn't hurt for them to have an iPhone charging station or two (and now that I've said it, I would absolutely be unsurprised to see them added the next time I come by. These guys are THAT good!) So yeah, 7 Days a Week is the reason I cross the bridge from SF when it's time to get my car smogged. read more
