Service was excellent. It's a cozy neighborhood spot. Prices were extremely reasonable. In fact, all of us ate extremely well and brought home leftovers. Amazingly the cost was only a little more than a chain sandwich shop where we had ordered eight sandwiches the night before. And we didn't even get chips just sandwiches. I have also been here for the wine selections in the evening and most recently had the cheese board which paired perfectly with the red wine I chose. My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a gluten free lighter option before a spa day. I'm so glad we found Green Grocer. It was packed. Not an empty seat in the place around 12:00 on a Saturday. We did have to circle around for parking as well, but only had to walk a short distance from across the street. I got a drip coffee with blueberry waffle flavor and cream. The coffee was very good. I believe they use Collectivo. The gluten free raspberry financier was even better. It was similar to a Madeline cookie, but larger and raspberry in the center. I would drive back just for the pastry. We also got sandwiches from the deli and two fountain drinks from bar. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. I definitely recommend Green Grocer for sandwiches and coffee, especially if you want to avoid the craziness of downtown Lake Geneva. First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town.

One employee seemingly told me they were waiting on a plumber so I had no choice but to walk down to the corner gas station to use the restroom which was really inconvenient since I had injured my foot, it was swollen and bruised. Upon returning to the shop, I never seen a plumber for the 2+hrs I looked around in the shop. When I checked out, as I waited for my 5-items the nicer of the 2-employees checked out another woman who had 2-items and spent less than $30 dollars, the woman asked to use the restroom and the employee told her oh let me get the keys??? The employee proceeded to ask for the key as I stood right there from the very same employee that told me they were waiting on a plumber??? Then the nicer employee escorted the woman to the shops restroom??? It must be pretty privileged to be able to use the shops bathroom as I had to walk down the street to use the gas station. What really is the worst is that I had spent $248+ dollars and I couldn't be shown the same kindness that is seemingly selective. Being the bigger person is sometimes hard to do as others in my shoes would not have spent a penny in that shop simply because of the bias selective treatment but the 3-items were gifts for my mom as mother's day is this weekend and the other 2-items were for my future grandkids. Its important to sow goodness as what we sow in life is what we shall reap so the employee at this shop really needs to re-think twice before you pick and choose which customers may use the shop's restroom as I the customer can also choose to spend or not spend my money which earns your living.
