Unable to speak with a human being about automatic payments. I am always directed to an automated phone number without being able to talk with anyone then the phone disconnects. Very unhappy with the customer service with this credit union. There are other credit unions in Ohio that are much more customer oriented. read more

Negative Stars if I could. They lied to me after my father died and attempted to sign me up for car insurance without my notification. Then made me wait approx 4 hours in their waiting room to finally resolve the issue with my real insurance company. My entire day was wasted. They are subversive and will attempt to swindle you. read more

I purchased a car today from a gentleman who is a member of Seven Seventeen Credit Union. Gave him a cashiers check from Huntington Bank and was told by Huntington that the money will be in his account overnight. Seven Seventeen claims it takes eleven days to verify the check and will not release my money to him dragging out the sale of a car to just short of two weeks. When they DO release my money after holding it for ten days it will be released in two separate increments on separate days. How can a banking system be so far behind the times? I'm not making this up. Their slogan is "See the Difference". Eleven days to transfer money. That's the "difference" folks. I wouldn't believe it if wasn't happening to me. read more

They treat their customers that have good credit great I'm sure. The customers with good credit reap the benefits of being with a credit Union. If you don't have good credit basically it's just like every other bank. Bad credit customers really only get the benefit of having a place for their money to go until they have to pay bills. Also it's basically like your penalized because you use your money that you worked for to pay bills and don't have tons of money just sitting in the bank collecting dust. And they charge you to put your money in your account with monthly fees. I'm actually very disappointed in this bank. Sorry but not sorry thumbs down read more

I was shopping around for the best home equity line of credit and came across this place. I liked the rate they were asking in comparison to other banks or credit unions. I thought about it for a few days and decided to finally apply for a membership. Went through all of the steps and opened a membership account with them for a basic savings account. Today, I received a letter in the mail that they ran my credit and closed my account. My nearly perfect score. I have accounts with two other credit unions and they have not once did a hard pull on my credit. When asked why they did that I was told "we do it so we can see what we can offer out members". I'm not bitter because they closed my account. I'm bitter because they ran my credit when NO WHERE in the application does it say, we are going to do a hard pull on your credit. I will be contacting the better business bureau read more

Twice in the past two years, my debit card was compromised and charges made to my account. The CU adjusted the charges but their customer service at the branch leaves much to be desired. The fraud alert phone call told me they had to deactivate my card and to go to my local branch for a new one. The Boardman branch told me I had to go to the Warren office or wait 7-10 days for a new card. I asked for the manager and Kerry Amon repeated that not only couldn't she get a card issued, she was not willing to have the Warren branch do it and mail it out. When I told her that was poor customer service, she laughed at me. COMPLETELY unprofessional! The only advantage local credit unions have over larger banks is their supposed superior customer service. Someone needs to train the staff at this branch as it is seriously lacking. read more
