We went to 620 State street because it is the only sushi restaurant near our home. We like the sports bar / restaurant type atmosphere. They have a great selection of bourbons and cocktails. Their staff is always very caring and takes care of our needs! Our sushi last night was not as good as it was the last time we were there. The tuna had a grey color and was mushy, which is not a good sign. It tasted ok once I got past the texture. However the 620 rolls were great and the drunken noodle was good. I recommend 620 but would ask how fresh their fish is when ordering. read more

We were in town to break up our 11 trip, so we went looking for a local restaurant that was not a chain. Then we stumbled upon 620. It was before dinner rush so we were seated quickly. Our drinks came fairly quick so we had not decided on our entrees yet. The waitress gave us the time we needed but not the dreaded waiting for ever to come back. As you see I ordered the filet and fries, the steak was cooked as ordered, which for me is a rarity.... It had great flavor and the fries were really good. Nice restaurant on State Street. Giant booths that could hold 6 people. We got one for just the two of us. There is also an outdoor seating area. We ordered drinks first. I got a pomegranate martini and then the blackberry sangria. Both were good. We got an order of crab Rangoon for an appetizer. We both really liked them. Good amount of filling to shell ratio. I ordered drunken noodle for dinner. I asked the server if it was spicy and she said a little bit. To me, it wasn't spicy at all so if you like it spicy, ask them to up the heat. The vegetables in it were really tasty but the noodles were really dry. Kind of a bummer. I would not order this again due to the dryness. Hubs had steak and he let me try it. Ordered our meal, which took 1 1/2 hours to serve us. 3 of us ordered grilled salmon over cheddar grits. The grits were inedible, and salmon was not hot. The mgr offered to comp us. The drunken noodles with tofu were perfectly seasoned and my waiter offered a box for the large portion. My Bristol Mule was a fresh complement to my meal. There were a few choices on State Street in Bristol. This one was on the Tennessee side. It's part of a bigger restaurant group, We sat outside. Our Server was Emma! She was amazing! Emma was sweet, kind, funny & patient. She was helpful and knew a lot about the menu. We chose the pickles. The ones on top were crispy and seasoned. The ones on the bottom, not really breaded and kinda soggy as well as not very seasoned. The hubs chose the burger. It was tiny. It was the size of a "slider". The fries...lol they weren't really fries. They were the smallest little bits left after a busy time. Lol like WTH? His burger was supposed to have a sauce...we are still looking for it. My general TSO...I know it's different everywhere. Not really sweet and spicy like I expected. It was fresh tasting tho. The noodles were maybe Cantonese style noodles...I think they were angel hair. As a border-crossing geek, I've always wanted to visit Bristol TN/VA and finally had the chance while heading down I-81 on the way to NC. After the obligatory jumping back and forth across the state line, thoughts turned to, of course, food ....a quick check of reviews and some menus led to the Tennessee side & the 620. Upon walking in I was intrigued by the interesting vibe - kinda Industrial, kinda Modern - I was more intrigued by the menu ...a mashup of American & Asin favorites. ordered a little of each - salmon & sushi. I went to 620 a few years ago while in TN on business. I more or less happened upon this place and it looked comfortable and inviting. As I often do when dining alone, I took a seat at the bar. Bartender was attentive without being bothersome. I forget what I ate but I remember really liking the place and my dinner/drinks. I'm nearby on business again and KNOW I've got to return to 620. On a recent trip from Georgia to Washington DC, we stopped in Bristol, TN for the night. Unbeknownst to us, just about everything was closed that night which was a bit of a bummer! But we came across 620 State and it didn't disappoint. Their menu is pretty broad which was a big hit with our family of 4 who all were looking for something different. The restaurant itself is pretty large inside and has a cool, relaxing vibe. My burger was delicious, portion sizes were ample, the service was friendly and the beer was cold. We loved this place so much we ate here two days in a row. The state street noodles are great-- a dry curry w/ tons of veggies and really appreciated the option for tofu instead of meat. The fried pickles, french fries, and fried green tomatoes, were also delicious. All portions are huge. If you are curious about covid safety, I will say that what is listed on the website is not accurate-- there are no temperatures taken and they appear to be seating every table. On the two occasions we visited they were not super busy so this wasn't overly concerning. However, they do seat booths next to each other which definitely puts you within 6ft of other diners. No pink in the middle and still juicy. Many places dry a well-done burger out. The hand cut fries were perfectly salted and super tasty. The grilled chicken sandwich with cheese was also quite flavorful. Portions are decent sizes too. Only negative I had was I ordered a side of fried rice. It tasted old and frozen but it could have just been that batch of rice so I still think a 5-star rating is warranted. The sauce for the fried rice was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. Most of the wait staff are excellent, with one exception: I had been fitted with a cast on my injured foot and tripped on the contraption. I was in a company van with no side moulding on the door and with handles too high to reach from the tarmac. One of their waiters parked near me and I asked if could assist me in getting up. He looked at his watch, said he had to get to work, hustled off and left me lying in a heap. I have not patronized this establishment since then, and I used to dine there at least twice per week. Great food, just don't be handicapped if you plan to dine there, and most of all, don't fall on your ass on the way in. You'll be on your own. read more

First off their decor is really beautiful and I loved their dim lighting. When I arrived she showed me my seat and then I immediately went to the restroom. I come back to sit and I was waiting for a waiter well over 20 minutes...But, That didn't upset me because I was in the back corner by window. But, on the other hand it had to be like 12 tables occupied as a whole. I'm vegetarian so the stir fry side is what interest me the most. I decided to order the " street noodles " ( its street something it's highlighted in Orange in the menu, I could be off with the name) Well, when the food came it appeared good - hated it !! It was dry, bland, no salt, loaded with onions like Heavy !! There was sauce at the bottom of the entree I kept aiming for that part and still no hope of flavor (I didn't finish it). Finally I ordered the turtle cheesecake and that was pretty good so overall between the dessert and atmosphere I'll give it 3 stars. read more

Ate at this place twice during my two-week-long Bristol stay. First trip, I shoved three sushi rolls down my throat for a total of, like, $7. As you can guess, being 20% raw fish made me borderline miserable, but I was satisfied, nonetheless. Firecracker shrimp was magical. 3.5/5 During our second trip, we had a 1 1/2 hour wait for our food. My colleagues' Southern Chicken and Downtown Chicken meals were well below the health department-required 165 degrees. 620 must have skipped their temperature logs for this night. But, luckily for me, I was too busy thoroughly enjoying my tilapia sandwich and sweet potato curly fries to pretend to empathize. Firecracker shrimp was, yet again, magical. 3/5 read more

Very nice place in downtown Bristol. Amazing whiskey selection if that is something you are into. Also fantastic beer selection, Delirium Tremens on tap is always a great sign they a restaurant/bar knows their beer. Lots of local drafts available to try. The food was fantastic, this place does both American traditional cuisine as well as Asian cuisine. Everything I had was excellent, the atmosphere is perfect.
