    Buffet plate

We came in for lunch since Diwali was today and had a good experience. We all opted for the buffet, but also ordered a dosa from the menu. From the buffet, I enjoyed tikka masala, fish curry, goat curry, basmati rice, naan, onion baji, and an assortment of condiments. Each item was delicious, hot, and packed with flavor. The dosa was crispy and rich. Service was good. We got seated right away and our waiter made sure we had water. The store had Diwali decorations and they had Bollywood music videos playing. The food was great and everything was festive.

We came here for dinner for the first time a few weeks back. Staff was very friendly. Everything we ordered was very good but spicy even when we ordered mild (holy cow!!!). We ordered the Mutter panner and asked specifically to be super mild. My kid likes a bit of spicy and she had a hard time eating a mild panner. We also ordered the Rogan josh - my husband loves spicy food, but he ordered medium - he said it was the hottest indian dish he ever had. I only had the chicken corn soup which was delicious. Overall, the experience was great - we would love to come back to try their buffet although concern it will be too spicy for my taste.

This review is for a TAKEOUT order and not dine in. My husband had gone to 5th Element last night to get some food for 4 people. When he arrived, he said the place was very big and seemed a little busy. He placed an order for mutton biryani, chicken biryani. 2 dosas, idli, veg noodles, and gobi Manchurian. When he came home, I was very shocked at the portion sizes and how huge they were, esp the biryanis and noodles. One entree could feed 3-4 people! We will def remember that for next time. That is a plus for this restaurant. We told them to make the veg noodles mild and when I tried it, it was def mild and tasted fresh. It had a good amount of vegetables and the noodles were thick and soft. It was also not too salty which is a plus. They had 5 levels of spiciness and we told them to make it a 1. The gobi Manchurian was also good but very spicy. I am not sure if they had levels if spiciness for that but it def should. I only ate a couple of those and could not eat the rest because of the hotness. My husband ate the dosa and idli. He said the idli tasted like it was previously frozen and not made fresh. That's unfortunate because idlis taste best when prepared just before consumption. The dosa was also not prepared fresh. When he came home, it should have been warm and crispy, however, it was cold and a little soggy. It seemed like they made the dosa first and not as the last order of a takeout. We did not eat the biryanis yet because of the amount of food in the other entrees so I cannot comment on those. Also our experience might be different if we had dined it.

    Water

We stopped in for dinner. I we tried two different dinner both were good. And the only complaint I had was no unsweet ice tea. Really I'm drinking water.

We ordered the chicken saag (saagwala), chicken curry, cheese naan, onion kulcha, and samosas. The chicken saag was a little different than other saags I've had, and it wasn't as herbaceous as I expected. I ordered it mild and it had no spice at all, which was fine with me. The chicken curry was good as well, it was very tomatoey with a slightly smoky flavor. I ordered that one medium expecting a little heat, but there wasn't really any spice, which was a bit disappointing. In both chicken dishes, some of the pieces of chicken were a little overcooked and slightly dry, but the sauces themselves were still flavorful. Both dishes came with rice, which was a little bland on its own but worked well once you mixed it with the sauces. The onion kulcha was definitely a highlight. It was soft and had a ton of onion baked right into the dough, which I loved. The cheese naan was fine, not bad, but not particularly memorable either. The samosas were also really good. The filling was flavorful and they were perfectly fried. They came with two sauces: a green sauce that tasted really fresh and herby with a nice kick, and a sweeter brown sauce (I think tamarind) that was a little sweeter than I personally prefer. Portion sizes were okay but not huge, and the overall price felt a little on the higher side for the amount of food. That said, I'd still come back to try some other dishes, and I would definitely order the onion kulcha again

I also liked how it felt very family-oriented and comfortable, not stuffy at all. I'll definitely be going back with my family and trying more things next time. For now, I can just say I really enjoyed it and I'm glad we found it!

This place came highly recommended, so we decided to stop for lunch around 1230 pm on a weekday. They were empty. We were greeted by a very friendly man with a mustache who seated us quickly and brought cold water to our table. They had the buffet which my daughter ordered. I opted to order off of the menu and got medium spice chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The buffet had a variety of chicken, lamb, and lentil dishes. Her chicken dishes looked fantastic-fresh, white meant chicken chunks. Her lentil and potatoes looked dry but her only complaint was that they were bland for her taste. In fairness, she likes spicy dishes. I am very picky about my protein so take my next sentence with that in mind, if you are also picky: My chicken vindaloo was all potatoes with 3-4 pieces of dark meat chicken held together by fat and gristle. The chicken was inedible. The sauce was too thick-I have eaten vindaloo many many places and never had it look like this in my life. It was clumpy. The basmati rice it came with was fine. The garlic naan I ordered and the butter naan (came with the buffet) were both so soaked in butter that the naan was immediately soggy and not at all good. I think that the key to this place is to order off the buffet during lunch. Indeed, the man who seated us appeared to "highly suggest" the buffet and seemed nonplussed when I requested the menu. We were so disappointed in this place and will not return.

Filled the craving for Indian food and would go again for lunch but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

For our appetizer order, I started to say we want the platter but she knew before I even said it. Haha. Must be a popular dish. I had seen it in reviews - looked like it comes with many items! We cut everything up so we could all get one bite of everything; a couple items had two or three whole pieces so we each got a few bites. The sauces are extra charge but definitely get them. The chutney is so good and whatever that spicy brown sauce is, is really good. I ordered for the table- shrimp korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, palak paneer, aloo Gobhi, lamb kadai, dal makhani, garlic naan, garlic cheese naan and paratha. It was a lot of food!! The dishes came with basmati rice. It was so much rice, our server didn't bring it all- instead she packed it up to go for us from the start. In the end, we finished nothing. We split the left overs- they brought us two containers for each curry so we didn't have to mix anything. And we got styrofoam containers for the breads and rice, and our to go rice as well. We shared the mango mousse cake- very nice, not too sweet, definitely mousse consistency. We sat and talked throughout the dinner. They had quite a few other tables so our server was running around. She kept apologizing to us but we were in no hurry. It was fine. We enjoyed our time. This place is good. We also like Mynt, Tamarind and Jala. I would say the prices here are better than Jala and on par with Tamarind. We do not like Tamara in Lake Mary - expensive and not that good. We would definitely come back here. Service is good, food is great, prices are reasonable and there's a lot of paneer and meats in the curries. A lot. A lot more than most places. And you can avoid the traffic and bad parking situation of winter park. I would recommend this place. Parking is plentiful. I did not use the restroom so I can't speak on that. They have some music playing which can be a little loud. Restaurant was clean. They were very responsive by phone when we typed the address in wrong and got lost. Oops. Haha. They do have a big sign that you can't miss. Go and enjoy!!
