Hot Asian Buns never disappoints! It's a small place with a few tables, but it's very aesthetic and welcoming. When you walk in, you order at the counter, they give you a number and then they bring the food to your table. Every time I'm there, they're always very patient and happy to answer any questions while ordering. The food comes out quick and it's always constantly good. The bao buns are incredibly dense and fluffy and they don't skimp on the meat. The kimchi fries are also delicious and not spicy. I love the decor and aesthetic here! I had two bao with shrimp and Korean chicken and fries. Food is cooked to order and was fresh and flavorful. We were in the area and I always wanted to try it! I heard about it when it was a food truck but never got the chance to go, especially since it's kind of farther away from where I live. If I lived closer, I would probably come a bit more often. The baos were so fluffy! They make them in-house and they were so fluffy and soaked up the flavors so nicely. They packed the baos so much that it was a bit hard to bit into at first. The kimchi loaded fries were really good too! The toppings on it were just right. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating which is nice, and the music wasn't at an uncomfortable volume, which made lunch time enjoyable. Parking may be a hassle in front of the store, but there's some parking lots nearby. read more

This place is so good!! When I walked in it was a bit packed, but most of them were leaving just as I was taking a seat. They have a good menu, but ultimately I went with the Korean Chicken Baos. It didn't take long to get my food, plus I was a bit busy taking photos of the place because it's just so cute! Love the decor. Anyways the food was delicious! Hot Asian Buns is now one of our favorite places to eat in the downtown Sanford area. My husband and I split a bao combo, an additional bun, and wings. We enjoyed it all thoroughly but the wings were definitely the favorite. You order at the counter upon entering and food is later brought to your table. Not a formal dining setting. Found a new favorite spot and one with awesome customer service to boot. I am so happy I finally got to come try Hot Asian Buns out. The boa is super soft and not bland and the korean chicken is PACKED with flavor. We enjoyed the kimchi fries and thai tea creme brulee as well. We stopped at this cute Asian restaurant because I am a sucker for a good crème brûlée. These guys absolutely nailed it. The Thai tea crème brûlée was creamy and delicious, and our chef was Michelangelo with the blowtorch, melting that sugar on top to perfection. I got the combo with the kimchi fries, priced at about 15 bucks, not crazy in this day and age. But the fries were cold and dead! I don't know how long they had been sitting under the light before they served them, but they were certainly not fresh! My husband is a Creme brûlée expert. When he saw photos of this Creme brûlée online he zoomed us over. It's a very unique Creme brûlée with Asian flavors. I fell in love with the food truck! It was hard at times trying to find an event where Hot Asian Buns was located but now they have a restaurant location in the most convenient place. Just across the street from Foxtail coffee in the downtown Sanford area! We can get our grub and cravings on because we NOW know exactly where to find them! Thankful.....they have the same great taste, same great quality as the food truck featured and it's nice to have a seat in the spot. Great customer service and just a cool atmosphere! The food was really good but the bao was so thin it almost ripped apart, and the egg in my rice bowl was waaay too undercooked. The egg whites were runny basically. Didn't eat them because I don't want to get sick especially with bird flu going around. The place was chill but when I was trying to get someone's attention to get a tp go box it's like everyone was avoiding eye contact with me. Also two of the people (boy/girl) out of 4 people working in the front were having a loud ass conversation and I couldn't really enjoy my food since the place is small I could hear everything they were saying. The staff were welcoming and worked fast. I got the bao combo, which comes with two baos of your choice and a side of kimchi fries. I got the pork belly confit bao and the tempura shrimp bao. The fries were hot, fresh, and had amazing toppings. The kimchi was crisp, tangy, and had that classic Korean flavor. The sauces on top elevated the kimchi for an amazing savory bite. The baos were epic. The bread was pillowy and sweet. They were stuffed with incredible fillings. The pork belly was melt in your mouth tender with a rich hoisin sauce. Truly meat candy. I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp and the bulgogi bao, but they were all delicious! The texture of the bao is *chef's kiss*, all the flavors and textures harmonize perfectly.
