Ambiance is nice. Good lighting, classy looking tables, some nice, chill Indian music playing softly in the background. Good stuff. Service was good. Our server was very friendly and did his best to answer our questions. We needed some allergy friendly food, and there were a few questions where he just didn't know and made a best guest. That's fair, I guess, but that just needs to be better. Food came out timely and nice and hot, the tandoori chicken sizzling up a storm. Now for the food. I started off by getting a Vegetarian Special Appetizer (A combination platter with samosa, aloo tikki, onion bhajiya, mixed pakoras and chili pakoras) for the table. These are always fun, because you don't always know what you're eating. Samosas are always wonderful, and the onion bhajiya is like a better latke. Get this if you like to sample things. Then I had a Lamb Biryani (Lamb and basmati rice cooked with saffron and spices, garnished with cilantro, nuts and raisins). If you're a biryani fan, I'd probably pass on this one. Not a great example of biryani. Very little saffron and other garnishes. There are other great things on this menu. Of course, I had to get some Garlic Naan (Light bread made with fresh garlic, herbs and cilantro). A+ delicious. Light, rippable, soft, garlicky, good for grabbing food like you don't have silverware and adding flavor and texture to every bite. The Chicken Tandoori (Chicken marinated overnight in yogurt with fresh Indian spices and grilled in a clay oven) came out last and on its own, sizzling like the center of attention like a steak fajita. Chicken was well-cooked and very tender. Lots of good flavor, but maybe a little too salty. Overall, this was a very good introduction to Indian food for a few of my co-workers. I'm glad we came. It was a nice visit.

Don't forget the veggie samosas either - they come 2/order and are filling. Today I went in during lunch to pick up food for an office meeting. The staff were very friendly and the smell of the lunch buffet was amazing!! It's a simple restaurant with a lot of authentic flavor that hits the spot, every time.

For our appetizer order, I started to say we want the platter but she knew before I even said it. Haha. Must be a popular dish. I had seen it in reviews - looked like it comes with many items! We cut everything up so we could all get one bite of everything; a couple items had two or three whole pieces so we each got a few bites. The sauces are extra charge but definitely get them. The chutney is so good and whatever that spicy brown sauce is, is really good. I ordered for the table- shrimp korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, palak paneer, aloo Gobhi, lamb kadai, dal makhani, garlic naan, garlic cheese naan and paratha. It was a lot of food!! The dishes came with basmati rice. It was so much rice, our server didn't bring it all- instead she packed it up to go for us from the start. In the end, we finished nothing. We split the left overs- they brought us two containers for each curry so we didn't have to mix anything. And we got styrofoam containers for the breads and rice, and our to go rice as well. We shared the mango mousse cake- very nice, not too sweet, definitely mousse consistency. We sat and talked throughout the dinner. They had quite a few other tables so our server was running around. She kept apologizing to us but we were in no hurry. It was fine. We enjoyed our time. This place is good. We also like Mynt, Tamarind and Jala. I would say the prices here are better than Jala and on par with Tamarind. We do not like Tamara in Lake Mary - expensive and not that good. We would definitely come back here. Service is good, food is great, prices are reasonable and there's a lot of paneer and meats in the curries. A lot. A lot more than most places. And you can avoid the traffic and bad parking situation of winter park. I would recommend this place. Parking is plentiful. I did not use the restroom so I can't speak on that. They have some music playing which can be a little loud. Restaurant was clean. They were very responsive by phone when we typed the address in wrong and got lost. Oops. Haha. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. The presentation of the food was stunning, but even more importantly, everything tasted amazing. We started with the Chicken 65, Gobi Manchurian, and samosas, which were all flavorful and perfectly prepared. The Chicken Tikka Masala, Shrimp Tikka Masala, and Salmon Butter Masala were rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The garlic naan was delicious, and the famous 24K Gold Butter Naan was a fun and memorable treat that the whole family enjoyed. The cocktails were refreshing, and the mango lassi was a big hit with our son. We ended the meal with one of their beautiful gold desserts, which was the perfect sweet finish. As a family with children, we appreciated how accommodating the staff was and how much there was for everyone to enjoy. If you're looking for elevated Indian cuisine, creative cocktails, and a unique dining experience in Winter Park, Jala is definitely worth a visit. We can't wait to come back!

Although they have a banner outside that says Rashi's Kitchen, it is misleading when you reach the location as the thai restaurants name is still there. The plaza looks a bit run down. The 5 stars are specifically for food. We dined in here on Father's Day. The menu has a good variety of vegetarian dishes. The cook, Mr. Ram Ratan did a fantastic job. Everything we tried was good. Special mention for Chole Bhatura and Daal Batti. We always crave good Indian food being away from India, but my uncle & aunt visiting from India also loved the food. The quality and taste were both great. The quantity was good and the food was fresh. Will definitely be ordering or dining here again
