I have spent thousands of dollars at this place on labor alone. While on the cheap side, their customer service and mechanical knowledge are inferior to most mechanic shops. Sometimes dealing with Long is like dealing with a girl on PMS. One minute he has time to fix it, then he doesn't have time. Then says come in tomorrow. Tomorrow comes, whoops sorry we don't have time. Threw my credit card when I demanded a refund for an incorrect part that he ordered. Their time estimates for fixing something always off, usually by 100-200%. So if they tell you to wait an hour, usually it implies wait 2+ hours. They tell you car will be ready in three days, realistically give it a week. Now on their mechanical ability, the staff is incompetent when it comes to German cars. I've literally had some sort of a screw up with them more often than not. They broke my door handle molding and just glued it on, lost my key, blew a radiator, broke a window control, incorrectly diagnosed an alternator issue that later nearly led me to a 70mph collision when my car died all of a sudden, not to mention the money wasted on the false diagnostic itself and the towing costs. Basically with this place you get what you pay for. Cheap repairs that lead to more problems, with terrible customer service. read more

My boyfriend has been coming here for years and he is always happy with the service, price, and quality of work. And believe me, that's saying a lot because he's pretty picky when it comes to his cars. I've been fortunate enough to say that I've never had any trouble with my car so I haven't had to go to any auto shop. However, I got a call from my sister saying that her car broke down in the middle of the road. It was 10 pm so obviously they were closed but we were able to take the car there and leave it in the front. They have a conveniently located key drop box in the front of the building. This is a family run business and when you take your car there you're getting quality work. They tell you what's wrong with your car without all the BS you get from other mechanics. This is the only place I will take my car. I love my car, and Long is the only person I trust with it. He always gets the job done right, with no hassles, no up selling, no bs'ing. He has done extensive work on my 2007 350Z, from alignments and oil changes, to body work and an engine swap. Through all of it, I have never found anyone that can beat 5 Star in price, or works harder to make sure you are completely satisfied before your car leaves the shop. Long has done several small body touch ups for me, installed intakes, down pipes, test pipes, full exhaust, O2 sensors, coil overs, spark plugs, camber kits, wheels, and done regular maintenance on my car for several years. He has diagnosed and repaired plenty of issues, including recent throttle body problems and a hole in my front firewall that caused rain to leak in. He even included fixing my window motors and replaced my wipers while he was fixing the other issues. I had a recent insurance claim for a hydrolocked engine, which led me to hit a parked car. Long worked with the insurance agent to get everything covered, including a new engine and all the body work, without them totalling the vehicle. When it was all said and done I had a new fender, headlamp assembly, engine, front fascia lip, and clutch / slave cylinder to name the major parts. He also made sure to replace all the under shroud and fender liners that were worn or missing. And Long also worked with me to get replacement parts I wanted for the prices covered by the insurance claim. Not only did the engine work flawlessly, but the body work was impeccable. The fitment and paint were perfection. Since all the extensive work Long recently did on my car, I have not had any issues with the paint, clutch, or engine. And as I stated earlier, the little extras he put into it really made it a great experience, and he made sure I was satisfied with EVERYTHING before taking it home. I was already a fan of 5 Star Auto, but I am a true believer now. If you need any work or regular maintenance done on your vehicle, I more than recommend 5 Star Auto. read more

I can't believe I forgot to write a review of the place I bought my car. Le Wow. So, what do I have to say about Five Star? I was floored. Non-pushy sales. Fast, friendly service. A good selection of reasonably priced, quality cars. Quick and easy financing. Friendly, LOCAL staff (big one for me), and even the in-house financing firm was nice. I've even been late a few times over the last year or so, and they just call, all friendly like, and ask when I'll be able to pay and take my word for it. I had a very positive experience, and I'd recommend the place. The only negative is the interest rate on in-house financing, which is near the legal limit, but it's to be expected with high risk, easy approval financing. Go see the guys at Five Star. Located in the midst of all other automotive/mechanic shops, 5 star is the most unique of them all. A while back, I was looking for a place for alignments, and found this place on Yelp. I'm glad I did, because they were quick, precise, and were very knowledgeable. There were things wrong with my car, that I hadn't even noticed and they caught it right away. Thanks to them, I wouldn't be stranded in a middle of the highway crying for help. They had a lot of cars in the front and in the back garage, and from what it seemed like, they were busy, but they still had the time to fit me in and finish my alignment quickly. They also have comfy sofas for me to wait on, and a water dispenser where I can drink all the water I want, and they wouldn't even know it. Also while waiting, they had 2 TVs and a magazine stand to keep me occupied. I also came back for my oil change, windshield repairs, dents on my car, and once again, they were quick. Probably because they couldn't wait to get me out of there, since I've done came there over and over again. I'm a girl! What can I say?! I don't know how to take care of my car. Overall, I'd have to say that my experience at 5 star was awesome! After finding them, they're all I need for all of my automotive fixings. I hit a median driving at night in the fog and cracked my transmission as well as damaged my exhaust and sub frame. Bummer!!! I had it towed to my regular mechanic and got an estimate of over $9000 to repair it. I had it towed from there to 5 Star Auto based on their great reviews and the bill was..... are you ready? Just over $3000!!!! My 2016 Mazda CX3 drives perfectly now and I am so impressed with the work they did! The customer service is incredible and the staff very friendly! I feel like an idiot for not coming here sooner. I have spent thousands at the MB dealer on glorified oil changes, transmission flushes, etc. just to get free wifi and a cookie from the "customer bar lounge". We had our TL serviced here for MANY MANY things, including 90k maintenance service, brakes, and a whole slew of other things... They were negotiable with prices and service took less than 24 hours. They are very reliable, the service is great and now I know I can use them for any maintenance issues without worrying about overpaying. Wow, I came in for an alignment which I had been avoiding for weeks because it's always a hassle and always overpriced wherever I go. I'm blown away at how painless, fast, and inexpensive my experience was (50$) To make matters worse for my car, I literally ran over a bolt on my way in to get my alignment, they pointed it out and patched it up for no additional charge. Great shop!!! THU came THROUGH during the holidays!!! It's hard for me to explain how my car starting throwing a fit, but I do know my transmission control module decided to quit on me. Every where I called to replace this piece, program/test, plus charge me for labor was going to cost me almost a GRAND!! On top of that most places didn't work on the weekends. When I dropped my car off at 5 Star, because the price was right, it wasn't 30 mins when I recieved a call back saying it was ready for pick-up! Honda dealership tried 3 times to fix Evap Control Sensor Leak (something like that) on my CRV. There never could fix it. I didn't wait around very long to be helped because the office rather smelled, and not in the usual auto repair way either.
