***PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT VENEERS and do NOT GET VENEERS DONE HERE!***…read moreI have been a patient of Tamarac Dental for normal cleanings, and those visits were always lovely. However, I needed my veneers replaced after 11 good years from a previous dentist, and Tamarac offered to place new veneers for me, because they offer Porcelain veneers. I decided to have Dr. Carlin @ Tamarac Dental place my new veneers October 21st. Worst. Decision. Ever. (Porcelain veneers are supposed to last 15-20 years, fyi.) After they were first placed, they felt the opposite of natural. Bulky, chalky, awkward. Shocking, one popped off 4 days later out of nowhere. I knew this was unusual, but things can happen. I went in on Monday; and they repaired it. I left feeling somewhat better. Fast forward to a DAY later, the other comes off. At this point, i'm upset and confused, this is not normal. I called and stated how things do not seem right, and that I probably need to be seen. The next day, Dr. Carlin saw me and told me, "veneers are sometimes trial and error." Uhhhhhh.. I asked several times if it could have been a lab issue with creating the veneers, and double confirmed again if they're true Porcelain. I was told they're "perfect" and they they are Porcelain veneers made in a lab in FL. I spent another hour there being poked with needles to be numb, yet on another day. Dr. Carlin started from scratch and repaired both that day. I can't even believe I have to type this again.. 3 days later= one out. After countless hours of searching, I finally find an amazing veneer specialist because I'm at an absolute loss for words and do not want to go back to Tamarac. My mouth freakin hurts. Sure enough, after my x-ray was taken at the new veneer appointment with a specialist, it was revealed from that dentist why the veneers kept coming off, seeing the one tooth on x-ray with one veneer left still on it. The veneers Tamarac offers aren't Porcelain- they're Zirconia. The specialist Informed me how unusual it is to use Zirconia for veneers, they come off VERY easily and that Zirconia is used for mostly crowns towards the back of the mouth only. Tamarac Dental Care/Dr. Carlin are 100% dishonest about what kind of veneers they offer whatsoever. They are not Porcelain. They do not offer Porcelain Veneers. I am truly so distraught. I trusted you guys on these veneers I was so, so excited and ready for. Countless appointments, missing so much work to come to the appts, CONSTANT mouth/ teeth pain, just to end up being told what a waste this was and how they aren't Porcelain. I cannot WAIT for this month of a nightmare from hell to be over and receive my new veneers. Please stay FAR away from Tamarac for Veneers of any kind, and save yourself the trouble.

I am still a patient of Dr. Singer, and I see Ari for my dental cleaning. I would recommend both of…read morethem based on my experiences at Cody in the last 9 years of my patronage. I recently had a visit and wanted to update my review to reflect their new Covid protocol. They ask you to print out and fill out a paper saying that you have not left the country or traveled within the country (etc.) for the last two weeks. They ask that you self report any symptoms on that form. I like that they ask these questions, but wish that it was electronic for two reasons: 1. The more we have to carry and handle the better chance we have of passing germs along to one another that hitch rides on said items. 2. It seems unnecessary to have to use paper and ink in this day when we have such technological advances that would work equally as well. You are asked to arrive at your exact appointment time. You are asked to wear a mask. There are spots marked outside the building where you are called in one by one to have your temp taken, and for the person taking your temp to ask you some of the same questions that were on the form. They write your temp and responses on a piece of paper and then hand it to you---again with the sharing of shit via paper. Despite being exactly on time I was still made to wait for both my x-rays, and for my appointment w Dr. Singer. I chose to staled the whole time, so maybe it was longer than it seemed, but I didn't like being exposed to people coming and going while I waited. No complaints about my appointment with Dr. Singer. I felt he wore adequate PPE and only asked me to remove my mask when it was absolutely necessary. It felt very safe. All in all, I think Cody is doing a very good job for a large dental practice in the midst of a pandemic. My opportunities for improvement would be 1. moving to electronic forms for those of us who are able to do so and offer paper forms for their older clients who may be less tech savvy. 2. Trying to schedule patients so there is no wait time where they are exposed to others.

I got to my appointment and they tell me the cleaning cannot be done, this is after I confirmed multiple times with the appointment. I sent x-rays of the subject tooth and waited more than 3 weeks. On the day of the appointment, after spending more than 30 minutes completing paperwork and waiting, I was placed in an exam room. Imagine my surprise when after the doctor looked in my mouth (spent less than 3 minutes in the room) and told me the procedure was beyond her capability. She referred me to a dental surgeon. To add further injury, I was charged $93 for the doctor to tell me she couldn't do what had previously been agreed to. I didn't go to the referred dental surgeon. I went back to my previous dentist, and he extracted the tooth in less than 30 minutes. I was happy to pay $234 for that professional service.

The waiting area is well decorated, with intentional designs and details and with a help yourself drink fridge. Each patient's room comes with a mounted TV and its own x-ray machine. Dr. Korosciel is in the know on the most updated practices. She is very knowledgeable about all current issues regarding teeth, mouths, and a patient's health. The office staff always gives 100% of their all every time and are always very welcoming. I've had cleanings and fillings done here over the years and couldn't ask for a better dentist or staff. A new feature to this office is for polishing your teeth after your cleaning, you can choose between the standard rubber cup procedure or the air flow. Air flow is messy but does a better job. Highly recommend this dentist and her practice!!

I have been coming here since 2015 back when Dr. Raymond Frye was the main dentist. I did not like…read morehim at all (see my notes on that below), but I loved Jules, the dental hygienist. It seemed like there was a rotating wheel of of new dentists there for a while...I was thinking about changing dentists around that time. But then Dr. Ray left the practice! I decided to give the new dentist (Dr. Harris) a chance. I like him much better than Dr. Ray...in as much as a typical person likes their dentist. I don't hate him so that is a huge improvement! I had a cleaning recently and then last week I had a crown break in half and they got me in same day to fix it, but it turns out that I have to get new crown. They have went above and beyond my expectations in figuring out how to proceed with replacing the crown. Dr. Harris decided to use a different material for the crown that will last longer in my particular mouth. Ruby (assistant) is very nice and keeps me well informed when I'm in the chair. Dr. Harris also explains everything clearly. Courtney is cheerful as always when scheduling appointments. I love their use of new technology! Or at least what seems to be new to me. It's impressive to a layperson. From the X-rays to photographing my teeth with a special little wand-like camera. Everything is displayed on a computer screen that you can see. Their teamwork is also excellent. They use headsets to communicate back and forth and it seems to be working well. I can't remember a time when I had to wait in the dental chair bc somebody (dentist) is busy with something else. Also, shout out to Jules, the dental hygienist. She uses the cleanings to educate me about dental health and proper care. I don't floss as much as I should, but she doesn't shame me. She simply states facts about the consequences of not flossing. She's conscientious about any discomfort during her cleanings, too. I think my first cleaning with her in 2015 was my worst cleaning with her (pain-wise) simply bc I never flossed before that and my mouth was inflamed. She did her best to make it quick but still thorough. So...Dr. Ray...I first went to this place because it is really close to my house. I got Invisalign...I regret that. I expected more monitoring from the actual dentist instead of the techs. Things may be different now. But it was not a very pleasant experience for me especially when interacting with Dr. Ray. I had questions and concerns about the Invisalign process, but there was a breakdown in communication in either how I was wording the questions or how he was interpreting them. I never got the answers I was seeking from him that particular day. I ended up leaving the office in tears and visibly upset because I felt so very dismissed and ignored by him. But I kept going back bc I had to finish the Invisalign process. Besides all of that, I was not impressed with his "celebrity" clientele that was displayed. His personality just didn't click with me. It all was very odd to me. If I happened to review this office when Dr. Ray was still present, I would have definitely left a review with fewer stars. However, since he's gone now, I think Dr. Harris and the current staff deserve 5 stars.
