Recently got to try out F45 for the first time after years of eyeing this gym... and let me just…read moresay... it was well worth the wait! So I recently started a free 2 week trial with Class Pass and saw F45 as one of the gyms available to try out... so I decided to stop by the Lake Nona location for a quick workout. This F45 is located within a strip mall and had a decent amount of parking available around the gym. Upon entering, I was greeted almost immediately and checked in. This spot is pretty spacious and very well lit. The gym is broken up into separate stations with each station having a clear view of the tv which displays the workout needing to be completed. The trainers Leo and Leah were fantastic! They definitely helped with putting me at ease... since it was my first class and all. They did a quick demo of each workout and they also placed me in the same stations as one of the regulars so that they could help me if needed, which I truly appreciated. Overall, I really enjoyed F45! I like the fact that it's a 45 min session each time...and you truly feel accomplished by the end of the work out. I will definitely be back soon to try the other classes!

I attended a 3-peat class involving 3 repeats of 10 stations that involved a variety of movements and equipment. The high intensity intervals really work your entire body and get your heart pumping at its limit. Lindsey and Nyna were amazing coaches, and since it was my first time, they provided plenty of encouragement and suggestions for alternative ways to do the activities. It was definitely a challenge, especially for someone like me who only runs and has no arm strength. But I left in a bright mood (from all the endorphins and adrenaline) and knowing I'd become stronger. Apparently the class I took only happens around once a month. They usually have cardio classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and weights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The facility and equipment were very clean and finding parking was easy. The pricing is not pretty but is as expected for many serious gyms in Lake Nona. It's $65 for two classes every 2 weeks or $180 every 2 weeks for unlimited classes.

I was looking for a gym just for the summer and needed a deal. I spoke with the owner Brian, who was super helpful and gave me a 3 month deal so I wouldn't need to pay sign up fees. The gym itself is quite small, but really has everything I need. There's a lot of equipment that may look odd, but the reason is the gym is catered toward powerlifters. Which may sound intimidating but don't be. The people that go to the gym here are all really friendly. They will often acknowledge you as you walk in, unlike other larger gyms, and you won't see one of those Jersey boys walking around. The regulars here are very helpful in answering questions that you may have. Most of the time the gym isn't too packed. The most I've seen on a busy day would probably be about 8 or so. Usually there is only 1 or 2 people around, and the reason is this is a 24 hour gym, so you can come and go whenever. No restrictions if you like to workout at 2 in the morning. They also have a filtered water dispenser which I love, non of that water fountain crap. The reason I deducted 1 star is because some of the seats are starting to look a little worn. Tape has replaced the holes and the tape has started coming off. The place is also a little hard to walk around sometimes, but they use the space well. There aren't too many machines around, basically the most common ones, mostly free weights. The gym is priced really well, only $30 for adults, and there are discounts if your a student, fireman, etc. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a gym around the area.

I've been training with Nick, the owner, for over a year now. I enjoy our sessions together. I…read morefinally have a regular schedule with Nick, but I started out going to random sessions throughout the week, based on my schedule abs his availability. I always found him to be very flexible with me. The sessions don't come cheap, but hey, you get what you pay for. That's a common theme in life. Don't forget it. Nick monitors my progress but is also very open when it comes to movements and weights. Some days I have knee pain, some days I don't. If the weight looks easy, he will increase the reps or the weight. Sometimes I am the one who says I can do more weight, and he increases it. Sometimes I am tired and sore and he asks me how I'm doing/feeling and makes adjustments based on that. I've never been injured working with Nick. He watches my movements and corrects me as needed. He asks me if and what I've trained outside of the gym so he can tailor my workout to areas I've missed. I enjoy conversing with Nick as I train. The studio is private, so my sessions are always one on one, but the gym is a membership only place, so occasionally there are other people working out. The personal training clients get first dibs on the equipment when with Nick, but there is enough stuff and space that we are never negotiating with other people. He moved to a new gym space recently and it's more spacious than the prior spot. He also has gathered more equipment. Parking is way better now too and there are separate male and female bathrooms. I'd say the new place is a major upgrade. I only do the personal training. So while I can't speak for the gym membership, what I know is- the price is reasonable, you get 24 hour access with scheduled appointment (so the gym isn't overbooked) and there are security cameras for your safety. Check his page on IG for more info, @theweighthouse and his website theweighthouse.com as well. He also has some fantastic merch for sale.

I never knew working out could be so entertaining. The members are like a cast of characters straight out of a sitcom. There's the guy who grunts so loudly you'd think he's summoning a demon, and the woman who is always in a matching sports bra and legging set (seriously, how does she do it that early in the morning?), the girl with head phones in, but is always listening and our beloved neat freak keeping us all in check when we didn't re-rack our weights that one time. I signed up for a full body workout class (HIIT) and arrived 20 minutes early so took advantage of a tour offered by the attendant at the front desk. She was a charming tour guide and made sure I got to see the full gym, which includes a classroom for group exercises, a pilates/yoga studio, two weight rooms, a half court basketball court (soon to be full court!) and more! Coach Zain taught my class - the first gym class I have ever taken. There were about 12 of us in the room, ranging in age from mid-20's to early 70's. The classes are marketed as suitable for all fitness levels and I quickly found that to be the case. I really felt that I was in a judgement-free zone and felt no embarrassment at any time. Coach Zain led us through 6 different stations with 2 or 3 of us at each station at a time. He had tremendous awareness of what everyone was doing, kept us focused on technique and pace, and was quick to offer advice to any of us who needed it. I learned a lot from him! I've already signed up for a class next Saturday. I hope that Xymogym will be my go to start to Saturdays for a long time to come!
