5280 Gymnastics is an amazing world class facility! That's right, not just in the USA, but the world! This gym already produced a couple elite Olympians including Alexander (Sasha) Artemev (Bronze medalist champion from Beijing, 2008) and 2021Tokyo hopeful, Yul Moldauer!   My two boys have been members of this gym for a few years now- one is on the competitive team, the other enjoys the recreational practices! It is definitely a kid approved gym! Both boys love their coaches and enjoy their practices! It is really rewarding to watch them grow and constantly improve their gymnastics skills with a smile on their face.  The coaches are awesome! They are friendly, professional and they truly care for our athletes with all their hearts. It is noticeable they feel it is not only their profession, but it's their passion too! They know how much to push and challenge a kid to get them to the next level of skill. It is done with such finesse, that the children do not even notice. Basically, it feels like each athlete experiences an individually "tailored" program, based on their needs and progress. Coaches are not only training them gymnastics skills, but also incorporating values such as respect, integrity, humility, team work, and determination. They are always encouraging and inspiring. My sons are stronger, flexible, more focused and disciplined because of 5280 Gymnastics. This gym made us feel like we were at our second home from day one!    From a practical stand point, the gym offers an online access to stream our children's class during their practice from anywhere - that is an amazing feature! Also, there is Wifi at the facility, which is a great perk for working parents, if they have to sit and wait for the class to finish.  I've recommended this gym to my friends whose children have joined and they love it too! If anyone is looking for a healthy after-school activity for their kids, this is the place!  Finally, a noteworthy fact is 5280 Gymnastics trained many athletes (boys and girls) who were recruited and awarded college gymnastics full ride scholarships. With the new times now of COVID-19, 5280 Gymnastics is very "sterile"and compliant with all the health departments recommendations. All precautionary measures are implemented and not limited to checking temperatures daily, provide constantly hand sanitizers, daily cleanings and disinfection! read more

ATTENTION: XENOPHOBE AND PREJUDICED STAFF WORK HERE! See attached screenshots. I'm still in shock and completely speechless about these responses from Christi (Front Office)! I've signed up my 3 years old months ago and I was put on a waitlist. Finally received an email that a spot opened up and I called but - as usual - it goes to voicemail. Now, I'm Italian but I've been in the US for over 10 years, I do have an accent - of course - but I'm fluent in English (and another 3 languages) and I've NEVER experienced anything like this from a 'business'. Needless to say I will NOT be sending my daughter here because I can only imagine the type of people that work here and I don't want her subject to this level of ignorance! Please educate yourself! This is beyond unacceptable in any way and especially considering half of your team is from Russia!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE! read more

5 years later and we are still at 5280. We still love it and it has grown my daughter into a wonderful person.

After getting my child involved in many gyms here and in our home state of Texas, this is by far one of the best of most knowledgeable gyms out there. My child has learned so much from Coach Andy and I'm so happy he's a part of your staff. Way to go! read more

We love 5280! We've been going for 3 years now and all of the staff is great. Coaches are tough but caring. My daughters have learned so much coming here, and the team culture is awesome. read more

5280 is a great gym with great coaches that are among the best in the country. They routinely have gymnasts place at the top in State, Regional and even National competitions. To the reviewers that comment on the "Filth" that makes me chuckle. It's a freaking Gymnastics Gym and Chalk is used all-day every-day by hardworking gymnasts. (beginner gymnasts don't need chalk.) If you go into a gym and it isn't "chalky" (and sweaty), they aren't working hard. Go to a Day Spa if want something "clean"! Admittedly they put most of their resources out on the floor and not in the "office" but that is where my kid is so I appreciate that prioritization. read more

Awesome folks with lots of knowledge and patience! I recommend for their adult gymnastics classes; However, right now no classes due to some unforeseen circumstances, which is life I understand. I just can't wait until they reopen for us. read more

The coaches are wonderful. We've been with 5280 for almost 3 years and my little loves it. The front office is very sweet and responsive. We've been to other gymnastics companies but felt that 5280 was the best. There's a place to sit and actually watch the kids practice. They're good if you have something come up and need a make up class. I really appreciate Christi and the coaches. read more

I tried really hard to get out of the way and let my kids try to enjoy the sport of gymnastics. I have had countless bad experiences with the staff and coaches at 5280. The disorganization alone is enough to leave busy parents in the dust. Total lack of etiquette and appropriate conduct all the way around. When your kid comes home crying because his coach called him a 'piece of crap,' and you complain... And the coach still works at 5280, big problem. When you try to talk through the issues with the lead staff and they just blow you off, not okay. I use to be a gymnast, a coach, a business owner and now I'm a parent. When they insist you attend meetings and you rush out of work...only to learn it has been canceled and they didn't bother letting you know... When a place of business (a spectator sport) doesn't provide seating for people to watch their kids progress... And people have to sit on the floor and stand in crowded hallways... Not okay. We want to watch our kids guys. Not drop them off so you can verbally abuse them. *fact* When did this sport become a full time job for kids? And when did it become acceptable for coaches to be outright abusive to their gymnasts? There are so many things wrong with this place. I wouldn't send my kids back here if it was the only gym on earth. Understand, I tried to work through it and not once did the owners step up and try to fix anything. Don't make the mistake of choosing this gym. read more

The coaches are good, and kids seem happy there. As a parent, I don't love the place because 1) the office staff is disorganized and unresponsive to calls/emails 2) they cancel classes often, and sometimes without much notice 3) there's no seating whatsoever to watch your kid and 4) the place is really, really dirty. read more

Our oldest has been going here since he was a toddler. The coaches he's had have all been top notch and also caring. He's started into the team track now and we've been really impressed and appreciative of the balance the coaches strike between pushing the boys to be disciplined and challenge themselves, still finding ways to have fun, being caring and thoughtful and listening when our boy is having a hard time or frustrated. The office/admin/business end seems really well run, too. It's gotten a lot busier since they brought a bronze medal home from the last Olympics. read more

My little cousin is a gymnist and has been going to 5280 for nearly a year. I took him to his lesson today and I must say they know what they are doing! I mean most of the coaches are all ex-Olympians and the level of skill displayed here is one of complete structure and discipline. However, they don't display their bio's in plain view or anything, they have a humble professional approach where all the parents just know who they are and what they've done in the gymnastic world. I would like to see a printed bio though, rather than just hearing their credentials from others. I had no idea how fun it is to watch gymnastics! It makes me want to take an adult learning class and play on all the equipment. Overall impression was great! read more

There is a coach there that is about 19-20 years old and ruder than ever. My child is constantly coming home crying and embarrassed by they way this coach treats her. My kid is very talented and learns things on her own, pretty advanced and this is frowned upon. If the task isn't taught by them spacifically the child isn't encouraged to do it! And it seems more so from this individual coach. They shame people for not having as much money as others. This place sucks morally. They are money hungry. Shame on that coach for being so awful to children and shame on the rest of staff for allowing it!! My daughter never wants to do gymnastics again because a 20yr old clueless coach wanted to bring her down. read more

Awesome club! If you have a son who loves gymnastics...this is the place to be for outstanding coaches. By far the best!

My kid loves gymanastics. She began in the toddler program with Coach Calvin. He's young but he did a great job. He fostered my child's admiration with the sport- that's exactly what you want out of a program at this age. Thank you, Calvin. When we moved to the next age group- we've had a number of different coaches. Some of them are great. Some of them are learning. All understandable. Just very little consistency which takes away from the experience for my child. Think of what it'd be like if you had a different classroom teacher each week. Also, there was times where the kids maybe did one activity because it was too full. They would get stuck in one area because all the other activities (beam/bars/tramp/etc) had other groups using them. Not ok. That is an organizational issue. Speaking of...The front office is not organized. Billing is all over the place. When classes get cancelled due to a meet or holiday- they don't prorate. The coaches and office don't go out of their way to get to know the kids or families outside of who they already know. Very clicky. Parents too. If your kid is good, you'll get some attention- so make sure your kid is a star. Not ideal for rec. Lastly, the place is disturbingly filthy. I dare you to walk in and touch something. Your walls of trophies are great but I can't read anything on them because they are covered in dust and chalk. Gymnastics is a great activity for young kids to get into. Thank goodness Calvin was around and still is. The rest of the place- ugh. Tough to like. read more

Called twice and left messages to try and reserve a date for a birthday party over a week ago. They have yet to return my calls.

I feel like this place could be great in a few easy steps. I thought that it was a big facility with good equipment. However, when we went it was not as clean as we would have hoped. The parents space seemed kind of thrown together with plastic lawn chairs. I can't speak to the quality of the coaches, which I have heard are great. My daughter only went to a toddler class. We might check them out again in a few years. read more

My daughter has been at 5280 South Gymnastics for about a year and a half and I have never seen her happier or perform better. She has learned more here than in her previous 6+ yrs of gymnastics. The coaches TRULY care and are very good at what they do. We will never go anywhere else. My younger daughter takes ninja at 5280 as well and absolutely loves it! read more

I absolutely love 5280. A family-owned place with incredible equipment and features. My kid is obsessed! You won't be disappointed.

I just finished reading all of the reviews 5280 Gymnastics has, and thought I'd throw in my two cents. My daughter is 3 years old and in the preschool program with Coach Calvin. As someone else mentioned, he is young but is amazing with the littles. My daughter adores him and she has learned so much in the 3-4 months since we've started here. Previously, she attended a different gym and skills were not fostered like they are at 5280 Gymnastics. Next: The place is dusty. It is not dirty like some people stated; I'm not sure you can expect a place that takes gymnastics seriously and has so many participants in an open floor plan building to not be dusty from chalk. Apart from the chalk dust, the place is well cared for and clean. Office/Office staff: We had a hiccup the first time they closed (for Memorial Day) and we weren't notified. The following week I stopped into the office and politely let them know about how we weren't notified, and she apologized and made sure she had all of our contact information input correctly into the system. Now we receive emails and phone calls when there is a closure of any kind. We've never had a billing issue, and it's easy to pay online. My daughter has had a couple of substitutes: one when her normal coach was out of town and twice when we had scheduled makeups. The girls who taught her class were respectful and worked well with the kids. The only criticism I have is that while Coach Calvin uses the technical terms for what he has the kids do, the other two coaches used "cutesy" names and my daughter was a little lost/confused for a second each time because of that. Their pricing is competitive with other gyms; in fact, we're paying a few dollars less each month for higher-quality instruction than we were paying at our previous gym. My last point is for the seating. While it's true there isn't much seating (and the seating that does exist is up in the loft area, though you can look down on the whole gymnasium from there), I've never struggled to find a place to sit. Perhaps it's the day/time that we come? Maybe we've just been lucky? Whatever it is, I can't speak to the lack of seating comments I've seen in other reviews. We've never had a problem. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone who has a child interested in gymnastics and you want to foster that love. They'll learn a lot while having fun at the same time. read more

The office staff are never polite or glad to see/greet you. They act like you are an inconvenience. Coaches change out frequently with no notice to parents. Schedules are changed with very little if any notice. There is no communication except what you hear from other parents in the bleachers read more

We have been going here for three years and love the coaches. If it wasn't for the coaches, this place would be an empty shell. The front desk staff is terrible, do not care about the parents and don't put any money back into the gym. They gym is filthy, the air quality is terrible as they don't invest any money in updates unless it's a benefit to the front staff. We hear the owners could care less what the parents think and I would say that is the general takeaway from our experience. They took out the bleachers, took away chairs and continue to prove this is a place where parents are not welcome. My daughters LOVE their coaches so we are hoping to one day follow them to another gym. read more

5280 is amazing. My daughter has been part of a team for the past 2 years. Her coach, college student, not only runs her classes and teams with the appropriate amount of discipline, but also with the perfect amount of fun. Criticism is always constructive, accurate, and in fact my 9 year-old daughter consistently tells me how much she loves her coach! The coaches at 5280 are clearly passionate in what they do and this is demonstrated consistently throughoutthe gym. I see the kids on theteam, all of which are under 10, are encouraged to learn new skills, be themselves, and anove all...have fun. Well done 5280! read more

5280 Gymnastics has been around for a long time and its women's program has a long history abusive coaching and unresponsive staff members. (The men's program is wonderful - great coaching to the elite level, so if you have a boy, look no further). When looking for a gym, it is important to check out the turnover of coaches, the turnover of families, and how many upper level (9 and 10 or elite) gymnasts a program has. It is also important to be able to track the success of the graduates (did they achieve a college scholarship or at least a spot on a college team) and how they speak about their years at a gym. Based on that criteria, the 5280 Gymnastics women's program fails all of those tests and has done so, consistently, for years. They have had had a huge turnover of coaches and families, there are few upper level gymnasts and there are no alumni singing the praises of 5280 (that I have found). Of equal concern is the lack of care or regard the administrative staff has for the gymnasts and their parents. At 5280, the coaches are mostly always right and the parents and gymnasts are mostly always wrong. Requesting a discussion with the coaches and staff usually ends badly - the next step is often the parents and their gymnast being asked to leave the gym because the gymnast is lazy/disrespectful/unmotivated and the parents, difficult and demanding if they air their concerns. There are many great gyms in the Denver area, so shop carefully before you make your choice. read more

This is everything a gymnastic training gym should be. The best coaches my kids have ever had. They have excelled in this program and found a supportive competitive community with just the right balance of support and hard work. We have been involved with the gym for years and will continue based on the value and community we have experienced. read more

5280 Evergreen is the worse. The girls coaches may be good at gymnastics but absolutely incompetent when it comes to dealing with young impressionable girls. The staff have no social skills what so ever. When you walk in, they don't even bother to greet you. You have to go over their invoices with a fine tooth comb. Errors are not quickly corrected. read more

Shelly L, I am sorry that you and your gymnast had a bad experience at 5280 gymnastics. I personally disagree with your comments. Coach Mikah is willing to take on any gymnast, give them a chance and give them the opportunity to excel in the sport. She may be tough, but she simply wants and expects the best from her gymnasts. Not unlike our expectations as parents. Coach Mikah, the coaches, the gymnasts, the parents and the staff at 5280 welcomed our family and made 5280 gymnastics feel like home. Our family is thankful and blessed to be apart of the 5280 family! And our gymnast continues to flourish beyond our expectations. Not only is she successful in her sport, more importantly she is happy and at home at 5280. I am sorry that your experience has not been as positive as ours. But I do not think your comments reflect accurately upon the coaching nor do they represent the overall feelings of other 5280 parents and gymnasts. I hope that you, your family and your gymnast find a gym that better fits your needs, just like we did with 5280. Good luck to you. read more

While there are some great coaches in the gym (especially in their Littleton location...my daughter still says that coach Oksana (who coached her for a short period of time quite sometime ago is the best coach ever), their North gym girls head coach, Mikah Hammond's coaching is very harsh and emotionally abusive. I personally met many families whose children quit 5280 (or the sport altogether) due to Mikah's horrible coaching techniques (shaming, punishing, putting down, throwing off the practice when a child is battling a bad habit or a bad day, emotionally "kicking" them when they are down or struggling through a block or through her unrealistic expectation to be able to self-coach hard skills...you name it and she's done it! Management is well aware of it, yet does nothing about it. My daughter still has nightmares and battles a PTSD almost a year later after just short two months of training with coach Mikah. Every parent I've met whose child quit 5280 because of Mikah (and I have met MANY!) says the same things about Mikah's coaching methods: they are unnecessary harsh, emotionally abusive, inadequate, turn off a child's love for gymnastics and that as parents they would be very interested to see Mikah's psychological evaluation because she came across to be very much inadequate to too many parents (including those with a degree in psychology). I second every and each of these feedbacks. read more

The customer service is about as good as your cell phone carrier's. No one ever answers the phone and it takes multiple messages to get a returned phone call...if you don't just give up and go there in person first. I've never once talked to the instructor and it's a mortal sin to cross over into the gym area. My experience with the orange and black stripped gym up the street FAAAAR exceeded 5280. We are in no way a professional gymnastics family, my oldest just enjoys the parkour aspect of it. This is completely recreational for us. Not Worthy! read more

My daughter has started at #5280Gymnastics recently and I am really concerned about this place. On a recent Monday the clouds of dust were so thick it was clearly unhealthy. I work at EPA and so I am really familiar with the long term health effects of particulate pollution (check out https://www.epa.gov/pm-pollution/health-and-environmental-effects-particulate-matter-pm) I don't know what kind of regulations #OSHA has about indoor air pollution, but this place has a problem. It's really too bad because the coaches seem great and the facilities are nice. It seems like this would be a relatively easy problem to solve and we've been to other gyms that don't have this problem. I hope that #5280Gymnastics addresses this issue soon! read more

Probably the worst customer service ever. At times the staff was quite rude to me when I was asking a question to solve a problem. One cash refund has taken over two months to receive. They never answer the phone when I call and hardly ever return phone calls from the message left. The gym is filthy dirt and there is no room to sit and watch or wait till practice is over. Two thumbs down. read more

5280 is a very large and very busy gym. Plenty of room to sit and watch athletes of all levels train. My child has been on a competitive team for 2 years here at 5280 and has grown in strength and confidence in ALL areas thanks to the discipline learned. All levels shine at meets and place strong in all events. The staff and coaches are approachable and are interested in answering all your questions and concerns. The kids can't get enough of this place and many host their birthday parties here! read more

Our daughter started out in a rec program at 5280 and transitioned to the team program as she gained more experience at the gym. We love the coaches and families here. Our daughter has kind and amazingly effective coaches, constantly supporting and guiding her to be her best as a person and gymnast. The gym has top notch equipment and space. It's incredibly fun to watch the boys and girls practice as they have top gymnasts in the state and nation. read more

I have two children that have attended 5280 for 4+ years. We have had the opportunity to experience both the competitive and recreational program for boys and girls. My son is a competitive gymnast and I have been nothing but happy with 5280. The coaches are truly as good as they get and you will not find better equipment at any non-collegiate facility in the state. The owners take great pride in their gym, gymnasts and coaches. Proof of this is their commitment to providing top notch coaches, equipment that safe and a facility good enough to support an Olympian. The office team at 5280 is great about sending out regular communications and the booster club at 5280 is AMAZING. I am so proud to be a parent of two 5280 gymnasts and can't imagine ever going anywhere else. 5280 Gymnastics has been so successful at providing such wonderful opportunities for children that they continue to branch out and give families all over the state of Colorado the opportunity to train and be part of this amazing organization. Whether you are looking for a fun recreational program that introduces your child to gymnastics or a competitive program that offers your child the opportunity to train and compete with world class coaches you can't go wrong at 5280. read more

This is hard to write because my son is on the team and they always do wonderful at all meets by winning 1st place and have olympic caliber coaches for the higher team levels. I have to rate this business as 1 star though because of the following issues. The facility is dirty and unsanitary. For all the money the families spend you would think they could hire a professional to clean and disinfect on a regular basis. It is extremely disgusting. The office staff is rude, unprofessional, and is clueless most of the time and cannot answer any questions you have. The communication is terrible. The only way to find things out is to ask other parents. They are also extremely last minute on making parents aware of meets and schedules which they always blame on something other than themselves, but come to find out it is just their own procrastination and unorganization. Lastly, it is very disturbing that they have opened up 2 other schools in the past couple of years but continue to put no money into their home school. The team parents are extremely upset that they are paying thousands of dollars per year only to find out that they are taking that money and putting it into a facility for other familes instead of the home school. All of the equipment is old, ripped, and dirty and the facility itself is in desperate need of renovation. No one will speak up to the owner's and staff because of feared retaliation. It is a really tough situation to be in when you are at a 1st place winning gym but there are so many unfair and unacceptable things happening. read more

The gym is disgusting. Let's start with the outside...dented metal on the building, torn signs (no permanent sign), homeless people living in the back, broken down cars litter the lot (3 vans, 2 trucks), they stopped plowing the lot; heard a parent had to do it (one of the broken down trucks has a plow), people consistently park in handicapped and no parking zones, broken concrete parking bumpers with rusty rebarb sticking out. Don't think of parking up front, that's for all the coaches. The inside...have asthma? STAY AWAY! Some days it's hard to see the rear of the gym from the front, chalk dust torture. All of their awards are covered in a thick layer of white chalk. The gym looks to be completely unkempt, no one is ever in their office anymore, the place stinks so badly even kids say something, they've removed nearly all the places for parents to watch, the equipment looks old and mats are moldy and many are pitted, the carpet is badly stained. In our 4 years there, the building, the equipment, the people have gone downhill terribly. It appears the owners have given up, many parents are taking their kids to other gyms, tired of the incessant bs. Lastly, for the rec classes, the coaches change so regularly, the kids don't progress. read more

My daughter attended a trial class for pre-schoolers at the wheatRidge center. They had mentioned on their website that the room is recently remodeled with new equipment. However, the remodeled room lacks serious Air conditioning or even a simple standing fan. The only broken fan they had was not even blowing air and they took that one off the next week too. The room was probably around mid 90's in the heat of July in Colorado. There were 4 teachers, some of whom I believe were training and only 3 kids, down from 6 kids the previous week all in the age range of around 13-17. Even with so many teachers they failed to organize the kids and order when their turn was up. in the block pool one of the kids jumped right over another one who was still in the block. It was just painful to watch. The boy was in tears probably from the pain and the shock and the other girl so scared from what just happened. With so many extra eyes you would think they would be managing a smaller class. The front desk also doesn't know the name of any of their instructors even with descriptions. WE have been very frustrated about our experience. They just seem very disorganized and disorderly and even unsafe. We will not be back. read more

My daughter is a former team gymnast from 5280 Gymnastics and trained under Coach Mikah through Level 7. The coaching at 5280 gymnastics is second to none. Mikah is not only an amazing coach that can produce champions, but she cares about making her girls champions in life. 5280's record speaks for itself. What you may not know is that Mikah consistently honors and praises work ethic not medals. She has a rigid coaching style with no tolerance for dishonesty, laziness, disrespect or lack of discipline. My daughter learned to set goals, work toward goals with a good attitude and about the "right and wrong time to quit" from Mikah. Gymnastics is a grueling and dangerous sport that requires exceptional physical ability and mental grit. My daughter had many bad days in the gym (who doesn't?) but always understood that Mikah cared about her, understood her and believed in her. Although my daughter has decided to retire from gymnastics, she is a better athlete, student and person as a result of her gymnastics training. read more
