The response from the bubble tea place.

Very disappointing experience. The staff was rude, and the service was poor. The milk tea tasted artificial, made mostly with powder and flavoring instead of real ingredients. The price is just average, but paying over $7 for this kind of drink feels wasteful. Edited: I completely understand that not having an Chinese menu is fine, that's not an issue at all. I only brought it up to start a friendly conversation, not to criticize your choice of menu language. I mentioned it because I noticed you had "鸡蛋仔" written when we entered the store. What really bothered me was that your staff actually suggested we go to Taichi, another restaurant, during our conversation. Is that really an appropriate or polite way to respond to customers? Also, just because I didn't place the order myself doesn't mean I didn't get to try what my friend ordered. If needed, I can even ask my friend to share their review as well. From what I saw, the ingredients used, including unbranded jellies and powders, don't justify the price. Paying over $7 for this kind of drink honestly feels wasteful. And your insincere "apology" only further shows the rude service I experienced. Thank you! Edit: Some liar shows up. And I have nothing more to say. Here's the receipt, it proves who the real liar is.

Taro Ice Crush w/ Milk Cap & Pearls

This is a relatively new bubble tea and dessert shop in the space formerly occupied by Kung Fu Tea. It's a small space with no seating, just order and go. I'm taking off a star only because the menu situation is so confusing that I'm not sure if I actually saw all the options. They had some of the drink flavours on paper menus on a table near the register, toppings listed on a poster next to the register, and a bunch of posters scattered around that had more drinks and desserts. I didn't notice all of them until after I ordered. I ended up deciding to get a Taro Ice Crush (their name for a slush) with Milk Cap and Pearls. No complaints about the drink - the flavour was strong, the slush had a good consistency, the milk cap added a nice creaminess, and the pearls were nice and chewy. The staff was really nice, and patient while I was struggling to take in all the choices and decided what to order. Now that I think I have a slightly better grasp of the menu I'd definitely go back to try different drinks and toppings. I saw (after I ordered, unfortunately) that they have mini taro balls as a topping which I love but haven't seen at any bubble tea places around here so that's very cool! Also mini mochi, but I couldn't tell if that was for drinks or just shaved ice.

Been there a couple of times. Food's delicious but owners seem to be always displeased when you ask them questions.

There are lots of drinks on the menu and most of them can be made with non-dairy milk and with the sweetness and ice levels adjusted. I had no choice but to visit them during BU move-in weekend which was the only weekend I was in Vestal and it was, as I expected, very busy. I don't usually like to order online but I did this time to save some time and that was definitely a smart move because the line was very long. I was frustrated though because I saw what I was pretty sure was my drink get prepared and set on the counter and then sit there for like 5 minutes because there was no one attending to the online order drinks. When someone made a drink for a customer that had ordered in person they would hand that drink to the customer and then immediately run back to making the next order so I couldn't ask anyone because they were always busy. I mean, it's fair that they were working hard to keep up with orders but I just wanted someone to take 5 seconds to hand me my drink.
