Margarita Pizza and Diavola Pizza
Makaelah S.

My husband and I walked 30 minutes to get here while staying in Naples and it was so worth the walk! We took the scenic route and the views on the way were beautiful! When we arrived, there was a line outside before they opened, which we were nervous about, but we were seated right away! The wine was perfect, and the pizza we ordered came out quickly! It was a delicious, traditional, Neapolitan pizza, with a fluffy crust and a thin middle. A classic Italian pizza that I would highly recommend traveling for. We sat by the road and were able to people watch and enjoy our pizza together.

One of the most popular pizza restaurants in Naples! Authentic Italian Pizza at its best!

Frittatina di bucatini

Came here after hearing so many good things, and it was indeed a very good experience, albeit not quite 5 star quality. Frittatina di bucatini (€2.50) - This little ball of fried pasta was a unique dish, at least for me, which I enjoyed. It was fried on the outside yet still soft and creamy on the inside. Ripieno fritto classico (€9.50) - This was essentially a fried calzone, and it was gigantic! It literally barely fit on the place, although upon closer examination, there was actually a lot of air inside. Still, it was a very large portion size. It was pretty tasty too with some typical calzone ingredients. The restaurant has lots of seating both outside and inside, and I did not have any wait for a table for weekday dinner. It's a pretty nice environment and the staff are very friendly and attentive (there are lots of them walking around checking on people). The service speed was fast too. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at 50 Kalo and would recommend it, particularly to anyone interested in the fried/normal pizzas (there are lots of options to choose from).

This was one of the best pizzas I've had in my entire life! Am I another American tourist who has bad taste? Maybe. But pizza is my favorite food so I live and die by it, and this one is worth dying for. I've never had a pizza that made me feel things in my soul like this one. The buffalo mozzarella was so creamy that it was almost like a sauce and the spicy pepperoni had the most beautiful kick. There is pizza on every corner in Italy, especially in Napoli. But this is the place you MUST visit no matter what!

First Pizza in Napoli. The good here is definitely an expression of the city: vibrant and tasty. The service is amicable bit can get lost and forgetful when it gets busy (don't we all). We sat al fresco and got to watch the world wiz by on foot, in cars and on scooters. This place definitely lives up to the online remarks and local recommendations!

Worth the hype! After getting this recommended from so many people, we knew we had to stop by. Yes you have to put your name down and wait but honestly the time flew by. You're just a part of the Naples energy at that point. The pizzas themselves are so freakin good! The crust is exactly what you're looking for in a solid Neapolitan style pizza. I had the Potato and Provola which was like a mashed potato sauce with smoked Mozzarella. It's for sure one to try. If you're in Naples, get a Taxi and go here!

At #7 world and #4 of the best Neapolitan pizza in Italy, 50K is consistently solid pizza. The quality is top notch, service is quick, and there is not a pizza on the menu that can't meet your desire to come back and keep trying more. You want burrata, they have; salami, they have; or just plain Margherita. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the interior is nice but not so fancy. Everyone is welcome. They don't take reservations as many reviewers point out, so recommend going as soon as they open or closing time. Otherwise, put your name on the list and enjoy the scooters passing by. It is indeed worth it.

The pizza I ate at 50 Kalo was definitely in the top 5 pizzas I've ever had. Delicious dough, flavored products, professional and friendly staff. My party of 8 went on a Monday evening and didn't have to wait at all. The pizza was fantastic, but the pistachio cheesecake was out of this world. I would call it more like a cream pie, but it was still so amazing. Everyone should absolutely try the pizza and desserts here!

Bufala pizza

The service here is absolutely awful. From start to finish it was rude, cold and inattentive. There's a wait here always because they claim not to take reservations. Yet somehow, only certain people are able to sit inside. If it's first come, first serve then it will be possible for anyone to sit outside or inside. The hostess in charge of the wait yelled at us for even asking to sit inside. We waited for 30 min. A few people came and didn't even have to wait. They just went right inside. Strange for a place that doesn't take reservations. Seems like they favor locals and their friends. Most importantly! The pizza is not good or remarkable enough to make up for the service. I thought maybe it'll all be worth it for the pizza. But it's very basic Neapolitan pizza. You can find it in every city in Italy. No need to waste one's time and come here. No clue why on earth it's so popular. Better pizza is easy to find. The sauce was bland and lacking. Crust was typical. Bufala was thick and chewy.

This place is rated as a top pizza joint in all of Naples. They have a lively outdoor patio and very nice indoor seating. The service is great and quick. The food is remarkable. Easily the best pizza I've ever had in my life!

Namir K.

We looked hard for the best pizza in Napoli! This was a difficult task as there are so many pizzerias. All the guides seemed to indicate that 50 Kalo was one of the best and it sure did not disappoint. The line is long outside but after about 30 minutes we were seated outside. You don't come here for the ambiance as there is none but to savour one of the best Neapolitan pizza you will ever have. We took the classic margarita which came exactly like it should: as chewy crust a little soggy in the middle because of the tomato sauce and olive oil and elevated on the side. The spicy sausage one had a little tangy flavor that was so good! We definitely would come back if we ever make it again to Naples

Baba
Nora R.

Found this gem while searching for best pizza in Naples. We arrived at 6p, but they do not open until 6:30p so we had to wait outside until the opening time. A line started forming right at 6:30p. They fill up quick. We sat inside since it's so hot in Naples in July, but they had a nice spacious patio for outdoor seating. The pizza is 10/10!! We ordered the Baba for dessert since we wanted to try something new -- wasn't a big fan of it (5/10). It's basically a piece of bread soaked into sugar and liquor (possibly). Next time would go with the tiramisu for dessert. Overall, great experience.

Classic Neopolitan pizza made with the best ingredients and they are well known for their super hydrated dough and long fermentation. Some of the the best Neopolitian pizza ever. Very nice location in a roundabout, great service - they have this down! We shared the margherita, one with salami and squash blossoms and one with sardines and tomato sauce. ALL fantastic. If you LOVE Neopolitan pizza don't miss this place!

I haven't eaten tomatoes this good on a pizza before, they felt super authentic and local The crust wasn't as airy as another place I've been, but it was still quite soft and pleasurable to eat. The bottom of the crust, though, was unparalleled. It was so unbelievably soft, and didn't even feel like you were eating pizza. A lot of the pizza I've eaten in the past has included this hard bottom curst that's noticeable, but this bottom crust just floated through each bite like butter. Holding up a slice was so floppy The cheese was also fantastic - I do wish there was slightly more of it - but it was still amazingly good I tried a bit of a vegan pizza that someone at my table ordered - and my god that was astoundingly good - even better than the margherita I had. If I was here again I would definitely order the pizza that had white sauce rather than tomato sauce - because even though the tomatoes were really good, I think I just prefer the alfredo-style sauce on pizza.

If you're in the historic district in Naples, depending on who and how you ask, you may get pointed…read morein different directions to Sorbillo's. Why? Multiplie locations exist, six in Naples, three on the same street! At first I wondered if it was a "Ray's Pizza" situation* though turns out they are all legitimately related, arising from the success of the pizzeria opened in by Gino Sorbillo. Aside from Naples they have locations in several other Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Bologna, Padua, and Genoa), even a location on Tokyo. This specific location where the pin is dropped on the Yelp map is for Gino e Tito Sorbillo, eponymously named for the now famous pizza chef and his brother, and the nicer sit-down version of the restaurant.** This is the original shop where it all began, and the business' historical headquarters. Outside, you'll see a couple paper cutouts of the chef, with a chef's coat and a smile. The unwavering popularity of their pizza is undeniable--one look at the crowds outside this storefront and it's immediately apparent. Be prepared as the wait is not for the faint-hearted or the extremely hungry. Luckily I had a snack before arriving (see separate review for Sfogliatelle Mary). 9:05pm: I arrived to a semi-circular crowd centered around the doorway of Gino e Tito Sorbillo. Headed up the hostess stand and she said 20-25 minutes so I figured why not. 9:30pm: the crowd around the door seems to have increased, at least stayed the same, a handful of parties were called up. I realize now that the hostess gives everyone the same estimate. Watching many parties that were there when I arrived--they are still waiting too. 9:50pm: I'm considering leaving at this point since there's significant second-hand smoke from multiple people smoking outside, though the crowd of people in front of the restaurant is going strong. 10:00pm: I go up to the stand and ask how much longer the wait will be, she says "oh you're a single diner right? I forgot, let me check." 10:05pm: she calls my name and ushers me inside. I'm seated at bar table seating at a window which works for me. Staff is quick to pass a menu, and take an order. 10:20pm the wait for the pizza after ordering was faster than expected. It only took about 7-8 minutes. Getting to the pizza--if you look up the definition of a Neapolitan style pizza, this is it! Served straight outta the oven as an entire pie, extremely thin, saucy in the middle, floppy base though evenly leopard-spotted on the bottom and the crust, pillowy and airy crust with a slightly crisp exterior. The tomato sauce was very fresh, and I loved the varying texture of the dough, great baked/slightly charred flavor. I got the Antonio which included regionally sourced cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, anchovies, basil. While I love both ingredients, the fish and capers together unfortunately were way too salty, I had to pick off some of these. Also I have to say as the pizza cooled, the room temp saucy dough wasn't quite as appealing as when it was hot. lol so if you consume it quickly it'll be fine! The serving size was also very generous, see pic with my hand next to the pie, I couldn't finish it in the end! Staff was quite friendly overall and I appreciated that they didn't pack the house or rush diners inside even with so many people waiting. That being said it was still pretty busy so you'll have to flag them down. After the meal, bring your bill up to the register to pay. *if you're familiar with NYC you'll know there are about 20 different Ray's Pizzas all claiming to be the original, which one is real? no one knows... **The other two locations on the same street are more casual, one is a takeout spot probably to handle the overflow from the main restaurant.

The filling is a delicious smoked provola cheese from the mountains. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but the camera didn't eat first. The order comes with 2 large croquettes for sharing. Absolutely delicious! After that, we ordered our pizzas. I selected the Pizza Frittta Completa, and he went with the Come Una Capricciosa. We figured it would be a small portion based on the price. We were wrong. Especially the stuffed and fried pizza. I could have easily shared that one. I've never had anything like it. The filling was an explosion of different flavors. The fried dough was light as air. It's so unique! My husband's pizza was just as fantastic. I didn't get to try it, but he kept commenting on the light crust & freshness of the hand crushed tomatoes and provola cheese. He consumed all of it. Honestly, everything was delicious! This place has changed my view of Neapolitan pizza. I've never been a fan of soggy middles, but this was different. The service was actually very good here. We were able to somehow communicate between our very broken Italian, and their better than average English. The menus are in Italian but you can pull up the english version using the QR code at the table. There are desserts, but we didn't get to try them. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. This place was packed with local clientele after 1pm. It's very popular. Don't skip it when near Piazza del Plebiscito. I'm still craving that delicious Pizza Fritta.
