Ordered take out for breakfast. Order was done in less than 15minutes. Food was pretty simple, but got the job done. Pancakes were delicious. I ordered my hash browns well done and they were close to raw and were not seasoned. That being said they actually tasted like raw potatoes so I wonder of they make them fresh in house? This is definitely our favorite breakfast joint around. We've visited almost every weekend or gotten a carryout since we heard about this place a few months ago. While we only have gotten breakfast from here, I am sure their other food is equally as good. I cannot stress this enough though, you need to get their biscuits and gravy. Just discovered this little eatery, not too far from where I live. My BF and I like going out for breakfast on the weekends and so we decided to give this place a whirl, mostly based on the photos we saw on Yelp of the Sausage gravy. My BF is a sucker for good sausage gravy and it is apparently hard to find what we would consider excellent. WELL, 5 Star's sausage gravy is most certainly EXCELLENT! During our first trip in, we sat ourselves and saw each table had a bottle of hand sanitizer. Already a plus in my book. The staff here are very friendly. Anyone that comes here was either a regular or new to the establishment. We have been back a few times since then and tend to see the same faces, which I thought was really nice to see that this place takes care of their customers. We have ordered 1/2 and full orders of Biscuits and gravy each time we have ordered and have also tried one of the traditional breakfasts with eggs, hash browns, meat. So far we've tried the sausage links (yum), bacon (good, but a little to crispy for me) and the turkey sausage, which unfortunately was not my jam. Additionally, we have tried a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with sausage and a fried egg (very tasty!) and the egg and waffle breakfast (the waffles were great!). I am pretty sure biscuits are homemade because they are delicious. My eggs are always cooked to perfection. Not every place puts the care into making sure they are cooked correctly which really rattles me, so to this the consistency here was huge for me. They don't skimp on the coffee re-fills and the food comes out fast. We have not spent more than 30 minutes here because service is so quick. Prices are very fair, compared to other places in the area. We have yet to try any lunch items, but maybe soon! I'd consider this a little gem that we will happily be continuing to frequent. read more

The remodel and replacement of the old Friendly's with 5 Star Restaurant looks great. Has a good selection of food. Tons of omelettes. Slightly less seating than the prior restaurant. 4 stars because the table we had was "clean"- but there was sticky syrup on the table and less than awesome service. Breakfast was good, large portions. Prices are very reasonable. Coffee is strong but warm ups and refills are lacking (considering the place was dead). Waitress was nice, but seemed disingenuous and preoccupied. She even brought me a ketchup bottle that was 3/4 empty .. If you bring a bill to a table and a customer has over 1/2 the food left it makes customers feel rushed and unwelcome. No, anything else? Would you like a box? Is everything ok? I would return to try some lunch items, hopefully I get the blonde waitress from the old Friendly's. She is an amazing waitress. She knows how to make a customer feel at home at the neighborhood diner. Now, I'm only deducting 1 star because it wasn't 5 star clean and it wasn't 5 star service but neither service or cleanliness was below a 4 star rating. Still pretty clean and I have had way worse service. So overall it's worth a try if you're looking for a neighborhood spot with good food at a decent price. This a a cute little place that deserves you stopping into check out. They are very reasonable. This is a great place for a pretty fast decent breakfast. It is clean, the portions are substantial and the price isn't to bad. They do close early after lunch I believe at 4PM so this is a good morning afternoon place. I been here a handful of times and it is what you would expect it to be. I like to support local businesses and there establishments to I don't mind coming in and ordering every now and then. Make sure you tip the waitress good. This place isn't vary big and alot of older crowed come in and just have coffee from my observations and that can't leave much room for them to make much. So always tip generously here. I did regret ordering the steak and eggs but that was my fault... I think I had to high expectations for steak at a small mom and pop breakfast joint. Just picked up carry out from this new place and it's super good! Nice fluffy omelet and crispy hashbrowns. Very affordable pricing as well. It's very clean and inviting on the inside and i plan on going for a sit down visit soon. I'm super happy to find a good breakfast spot close to home. Support local businesses people! read more

Stopped in for a carry out lunch after getting my coffee from a few doors down. Breakfast for lunch is what I went for in this first visit; Chicken & Cheese Omelette with hash browns no toast - $10.15! Basically flavorless and full of butter. The chicken was pounded out very thin, no flavor and dry. This was supposed to have Swiss cheese but it was very sparse and a liquid pile of mess in the bottom of the container. Onion, green peppers - again no flavor - which indicates to me way to much butter used. I requested tomatoes in my omelette and they were cold, uncooked and unripened (yellow and red). The hash browns were your typical potatoes - so soft that with a little mashing you could of had mashed potatoes - again nothing exciting or any flavor - not a fan of the butter overload. The girl who took my order was pleasant but the diner is nothing to rave about or come back. read more

What a fantastic place for breakfast! My husband and I were in the area hungry for breakfast, so I pulled up Maps and searched the area. 5 Star looked the most promising, so we popped in. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and while it is a small place, we were able to get a table without much of a wait. My husband ordered the southern omelette, and I ordered their 2 egg combo breakfast. Both were absolutely delicious and , more importantly, made correctly. We will definitely go back. You want to know how good this place is and how much my family LOVES IT. For some reason, Door Dash took them off of our list. We got our food pretty quick and it was always hot. All of a sudden, we couldn't order from them anymore. My husband went and picked it up for us after a couple of weeks of them being gone. Today, I see they're back again. It's on!!! This young couple have worked hard to make this small gem a part of the community. The food is delicious! Dila makes the greek dressing herself and she should probably bottle it, yum! Very good breakfast! Omelets are made with fresh veggies. If you love grits, they make theirs homemade and are super yummy! Very large portions for super cheap! For 3 people we got a breakfast special, 2 omelets, grits, toasts, pancakes, and hash browns for $25. Can't beat it! Definitely will be back read more
