We have an empty property we were preparing to rent / sale and needed a licensed plumber to fix a leak in the bathtub ASAP. The repair person / owner Jason was informed of our deadline to complete the job. He not only assured us it would be done the very next day. But also promised the work area would be left "like no one was even there". Even though he said he will need to cut part of the wall out and remove our vanity on the other side of the tub to get to the damaged pipes. The leak was fixed, but the customer experience was horrible. The main problem for this business is an inability to not only communicate effectively. But work with some level of integrity & accountability. We paid the 50% deposit immediately upon request. We then received multiple delays over the next 48 hr period including false arrival times that we had to constantly reach out ourselves to get an update on. It got to a point when we called to inform Jason we would go another route and wanted our deposit back (minus any service fee for diagnosing the source of the leak). He seemed offended by this change of heart because he mentioned he was in the check out line buying materials to fix our leak and said "This is why I ask people like you for a deposit... Well you can kiss that deposit goodbye!" and the call ended. Later his wife / secretary called back to apologize and assure us he was finally in route after picking up supplies to do the job. We accepted and asked that the final invoice be amended to include a note that the tub drain is working properly bcus we tested it ourselves. But we needed documentation from a licensed plumber stating that the drain is operating correctly. Jason decided to snake the drain anyway even though he said he didn't pull out or see anything that would've cause slow draining. But still charged us for it and didn't accept responsibility for misreading our request (via text). To make matters worse, he told us we can caulk the newly installed tub knobs & faucet ourselves; after not cleaning the tub up and saying he couldn't put back the vanity and the wall the way it was "like he was never there" as he promised. Also that it was more work than he initially assumed. We can respect the honesty, but to not even offer a discount after displaying bad time management issues and poor customer service is absurd! Jason wouldn't consider removing the charge for snaking our drain when we didn't ask him to do it in the first place. With all that, we still paid the full invoice balance (over $300 more than the original quote). We figured, hey it's the holidays and we can only hope they needed the money more than they needed a long time customer. Updated: Unfortunately, my initial review does not reflect my continued experience with this company. Though they were friendly and communicative. They charged me $390 to snake the drain from my laundry. They snaked about 15-20ft and then left. Which we thought was the solution. The next day I do a load of laundry and have the same flooding coming from the drain. They return several days later to install a vent that was supposed to fix the issue. Which cost me $175 more. The next day I do a load of laundry and it's exactly the same. Still flooding all over my garage. I reached out to let them know on Sunday and Monday they were supposed to come by 6pm. I heard nothing from them and they never showed up. On Tuesday I contact them again and they tell me they will be out Friday. Friday comes and goes no word from them until I ask them where they are, well now it's Saturday and I ask them to please come and snake the drain all the way to the road (which is what I paid them $390 previously to do) and they want to come back and charge me $180 to evaluate what's going on and another $150 to water jet the pipe to the road. I'm at a loss of $565 with no solution to the drain flooding my garage. What a complete waste of money and time. I sent a message declining their additional charges and have had no response. I tried to give them the opportunity to make it right as I am a pretty understanding person but now I have to cut my losses and spend money I don't have calling a different plumber so that I can do laundry without flooding my garage. I have always jumped on the computer for whatever I need and call whoever comes up first. Well the last time I used a well known company which I wont say who and had the worst experience. So this time I approached things differently and looked through the companies even the ones with fewer stars. I read the reviews which the reviews dont 100% make my decision in choosing a company. I look at there experience and credentials because that well known company I used prior the guy they sent wasn't licensed at all. So I did my do diligence and used 5 Star Plumbing even though they had a few 1 star reviews. I received great customer service, Jason was very thoreau explaining everything I needed and was receiving. Jason and Melissa are a great team. They understood my concerns about hiring a contractor online. Jason came prepared to fix my shower. He was very willing to use the materials prepurchased. I quickly added additional fixes needed and Jason negotiated pricing with me so I could afford the work. Melissa was very professional. two nights ago our main line coming into the house broke right at the footer . After searching online I found five star plumbing and they were the only people that would come out that evening. They responded very quickly were able to dig up in front of the house and actually have to go through the floor in the kitchen and do a repair underneath the footer of the house and get us back up and running within a few hours and saved us quite a bit of damage and a lot of money. I was having a problem with my shower water in the dead middle of winter. The temperature would not get warm, better yet hot... So I spoke to a few coworkers and friends about it and 2 out 4 people recommended 5star plumbing.., Long story short, I called them my problem was solved that same day. I called them to get a estimate for installing a new water heater. Jason asked a couple questions and gave me a price over the phone. He let me know there was a special going on of $750 install which saved me $850. He picked up the water heater from home depot for me and installed it the next day.
