You know I guess I love to eat too. So when we walked in we had to park a block away because there were a lot of cars around. Unfortunately Jacksonville doesn't have very many parking garages in useful locations so you kind of have to search for parking but we managed to find one in front of the Chamblain's book mine. Right when we walked in there was this itty-bitty little camp her that was selling coffee and I didn't get any but I thought that was kind of cute. There was also a stage with the band performing in they were actually pretty good. There were several types of stands half of the plaza and the other half was pretty much dedicated to food trucks and stands. I got some really remarkable toffee although it was $12 for an 8 ounce can but it was really really good. There were some interesting crafts for sale also. Were a bunch of food trucks there including some regular favorites and a couple I was not familiar with. I don't know if they rotate them out or not but it was interesting to be able to sample all the different trucks in the same location. It was kind of chilly tonight, it would've been better if it wasn't so cold but of course that's not the fault of the planners. I will definitely be back for the next one of these because I really enjoyed it.

It is a foodie's paradise a long with fresh produce and local shopping all under the big Jacksonville sky. A very unique market because it's held in the evenings where you could plan a cool "date night" with your significant other, sipping on some local beers, checking out the artist and vendors and really feeling part of everything that's making Jax a cool place to live. Just get there early enough so parking shouldn't ever be an issue as street spots are free after 6pm for everyone. Thanks City of Jacksonville.

Grassroots Natural Market in Jacksonville might be the most gloriously hippie health-food store…read moreI've ever set foot in. You can smell it before you're even through the door. Not in a bad way, but in that unmistakable health-food-store aroma that tells you there are herbs, oils, supplements, organic everything, and probably someone blending wheatgrass in the back with spiritual conviction. I walked in thinking I'd grab a couple of health bars or maybe a smoothie, and suddenly I found myself in what felt like a live-action documentary about modern hippie culture. Real hippies. I'm talking long dreads, natural fabrics, calm serene smiles, and an energy that says they own a crystal collection and know each crystal by name. The vibe inside was amazing. Everyone looked like they were on their own personal wellness quest, floating around the aisles with purpose, shopping carts full of things I didn't even know existed. I felt like I needed to level up spiritually just to stand near the kombucha section. And the café area had this cozy, earthy coolness to it that almost convinced me to sit down and contemplate the meaning of life over a smoothie bowl. The whole experience was wild in the best possible way. Grassroots Natural Market wasn't just a store that day. It was a full-on immersion into the hippie heart of Jacksonville, and honestly, it was fabulous.

Location- right behind the mosh museum, by the river and friendship fountain. Vibe- outside, chill, jazz music playing, fur babies everywhere, organic locally produced products, nice open breeze. Great for social time. I was able to walk around and spot the homemade lemonade and honey stand locally sourced. The yogurts and ice cream was produced and churned everything was homemade. It was pretty packed with stands from restaurants like black sheep and Ethiopian, Brazilian and all kinds of food trucks were around. I loved seeing the chickens being fed greens by the children and the pet food truck tripped me out. I thought it was the cutest thing. I would've liked to see more different stands and different products this year but still it was an amazing time. I was able to spin the wheel for donations to the local kids in need and I won 3 tickets for golf and a wasabi neck chain from the anime convention. It was definitely all in great fun!

The staff, including the bartender were all very friendly, and the food was amazing. They went above and beyond in my opinion, adding the birthday girl's name to the top of the menu. It added a little pop and made it extra special for her. Our group had a really great time and I cannot wait to take my BF back. The food though, yuuum! I personally had ordered the hummus appetizer and salmon for dinner, and both were memorable in the best way. I can't wait to go back.

It's a go to spot for me, but I have found it to be hit and miss at different times. First - you can't beat the view, as it overlooks the river. How spectacular! If you are lucky to snag a seat in the lounge during happy hour, there is a great selection of drinks and food at reasonable prices. In fact, their selection is better than most places for happy hour. My favorite is the lettuce wraps. I've also tried the seared ahi nachos and the coconut crunchy shrimp - all delicious. On a recent Friday night, they were out of the lettuce wraps (surprising, given it was early on a Friday night and you would think they would be prepared for a crowd). I tried the Southwestern Crispy Avocado with Shrimp Ceviche and Tropical Fruit. It was delicious, but I could not find a single bit of shrimp (even tiny pieces), despite the promise of shrimp ceviche. I also tried the Kim Chee Calamari - very tasty, but we were not sure where the Kim Chee was in this dish. I enjoyed both dishes, but I can't say they were as described on the menu. I've been here when everything has gone perfectly well - including the service (shout out to Brady, who is attentive and professional and normally works the tables on the restaurant side). In fact, I have been amazed at how well the wait staff can handle a large crowd and I think that is usually the case. However, I also experienced sitting at the bar and waiting 1.5 hours (no exaggeration) for an appetizer than never arrived despite numerous promises and apologies from the bartender. We eventually got the check adjusted and left hungry. I hadn't mentioned it until now since I figured it was a one time thing. The good experiences will keep me coming back here and hopefully the track record will remain on the positive side.
