When they were short on help and couldn't get it done, we headed just down the street to NAPA. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like we were stupid because we didn't know what kind of engine the car had in order to get the correct battery. The gentleman at the counter proceeded to tell me they didn't install batteries there after I asked but "he'd sell me the kit because it's easy and you can watch a video". By this point my fiancé was on the phone to other auto stores to see if they could help, as she was doing this, the other girl working the counter looked at me and said "wear the pants, you don't need someone to install it, go tell her that". To which I responded "thank you, but I'd prefer someone to do it be safe and we're going to head elsewhere". After stepping outside the girl then popped her head out and demanded I open the hood to my car. I told her we were leaving, and got a fresh nasty look from her. Stay away! I walked over and found the part I was looking for, took it to the counter and asked the man working if he could see if it was the right fit because their website doesn't have options for semi trucks. He immediately looked down at the package and said, "Well, as the package says this if for Chrysler vehicles. So no it won't fit." At which point he shoved the package back at me. I then handed him the package back and informed him that Freightliner is a Chrysler product so that would be correct and asked him again to please check. He then rolled his eyes and said "ok fine, what year is it?" I told him a 2022 and he immediately said he doesn't have any information on trucks that new and stopped looking. I'm not usually the naysayer when it comes to reviews. I'm a fierce optimist who tends to lean…read moretoward positive reviews. However, my own recent visit here kind of left me feeling "Meh." I stopped in because my radio had gone out along with my ability to charge my phone. I'd had a handful of people suggest getting my fuses checked as everything else electrical seemed fine. While I can obviously accept there are limits to how much "service" a retail outlet can offer, it seems weird to me that a place that replaces batteries, checks engine lights, replaces windshield wipers and offers more hands-on services makes a point of saying they can't assist with testing a fuse. Instead, this wheelchair using driver had to climb out of my wheelchair, lean over, and try to manipulate the ridiculously fine tester that they'd sold me. Fortunately, someone drove by and offered a bit of assistance as my hands just aren't made for that kind of fine motor skill work. To their credit, I will say they at least looked and could tell which fuse kit/tester I needed. So, hey, that's a plus. I don't know. I'd always heard high praise for AutoZone's helpfulness. Personally, it felt like more of a "can't do" than a "can do." Awful? Nope. The employee was friendly and did at least, I think, sell me the correct kit (hard to tell as the problem was not solved). Again, I'd say this was more of a "meh" experience than a bad one, however, I can easily say I won't be back.

It has been a while that my license plate has been a bit too loose on my car. I've tried and tried…read moreto get it tightened up, however, it just hasn't worked. So, today, I went through a carwash - you guessed it, the license plate finally came completely off and was completely resistant to everything I tried to get things resolved. I really didn't want to drive around without it attached - even though I was able to retrieve it from the fine folks at Crew - but I was clueless how to resolve it. On the way home from Crew, I stopped at this Fishers location of AutoZone, an auto parts and supplies shot located right next to Pep Boys. There's accessible parking almost directly in front of the store. There's a nice ramp. The manual glass doors were pretty easy. I looked around and figured I was likely looking for a new frame/plate holder and maybe some new screws since everything on my end was rusted. I'll admit this should have been basic, but I hated the idea of spending money without being sure. I finally got up the nerve to ask someone (whose name I never got). He suggested a new frame. I paid. He went above and beyond by helping me get things attached, though ultimately decided a couple new screws were needed. He also helped me with those. By the time I left, my plate was once again securely attached and I was once again on the road with the plate in place. This was simple, of course. But, it was a pretty big deal to me and I definitely needed help with it. AutoZone made my life a lot easier and solved a problem in a matter of minutes for a very fair price. I don't really have a mechanical bone in my body - this wasn't particularly mechanical, however, it definitely didn't go with my skill set. I was grateful for the assistance and for being back on the road. I do wish they'd had some more attractive plate holders, however, I got what I needed and am definitely not complaining.
