As someone who relies on word-of-mouth reputation and customer service for my own personal business, this company fails across the board. 1) We had an issue with our solar panels so we called Solar Tech first thing in the morning. The phone operator told us we would get a call back from one of the techs later on that day. FIVE days went by before we even got a response back, and it was in the form of a text message asking us what problems we were having. If a customer is calling you for help, the last thing you should do is make them wait almost a week to get a response, and then have them explain to you what is wrong over text. Very poor professionalism. STRIKE 1. 2) The tech told us the next available appointment was 1 full week away, so not only did we wait FIVE full days for a text response, but we had to wait another full week for any resolution of service. STRIKE 2 3) The day of our appointment, thankfully, we had the first appointment of the day scheduled as we had a very busy day with other obligations so we were hoping to have everything completed by mid morning. After about 4 hours of the company no-show/no-call/no-text, we decided to call the company to find out the status of our appointment. We got a voicemail instead of someone live, so we left a message. A few hours later we finally got a call back saying someone will show up later that day. And they did finally show up at the very end of the workday. STRIKE 3 This was a very VERY disappointing experience. From poor follow up, poor customer service, and just a poor company all around. For someone like me, my sales/service business relies heavy on customer service. I've provided 1000s of recommendations and referrals of vendors for roofing, plumbing, solar, electrical work and more over the last 20 years, and i can say that I will never recommend this company as their lack of customer service would reflect very poorly on me and my business. The last thing I would ever want to do is upset a client or customer as they are the backbone of any business.

Gabe made us feel comfortable with our decision, gave us all the information we wanted, and actually drove out to our house multiple times to chat when we had additional questions and concerns. Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. I did, and he then painted all of the piping! I know he did not have to do that, so that was a fantastic touch. Solar Self Install is the BEST!!…read more First, let me tell you that the name of the company is a little misleading. They will do the design, produce the plans and pull the permits if you want to do the install yourself, but they also do FULL INSTALLS as well. As I am not exceptionally skilled and I wanted the job done right, I opted for the full install by SSI. I am one happy customer! Sean & Nadja were very friendly, professional and took the time to make sure that all facets of the installation were done to perfection. The installers took about 2 days (20 panel system) and the roof mounted array looks absolutely fantastic! The installation passed inspection by the county with flying colors! And I am now producing enough electricity that I will never have to pay SDGE ever again! Hoo hoo!! You would be hard pressed to find another company that is as diligent and knowledgeable as SSI.
